I am Someones Imaginary Friend

Happy Sunday blog land...this is a quick card I made playing with a can of air and some Heidi Swapp color shine spray...inspiration came from simon says stamp -Andrea- using house hold items....I used a can of air to spray the shine around the paper and also used it to spritz color using the markers....home version of Tim Holt marker spritz.....
My computers on the blitz so I am figuring out how to do this with my phone....sorry for the pics.....Enjoy!!!

Here's what I came up with...I really Dont like the outcome but it felt good to get in here and play....
Here's the goodies...minus one stamp from Tim Holtz...

Used spray shine then air and marker over top of flower

Here I used the spray then used the air to spritz the marker over top....gives it a splatter effect....

A Cameo Appearance Challenge @ Simon Says Stamp

Happy Saturday blog land...I have a quick post for the Cameo Appearance Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge...and a sneak peek on an up coming project I'm working on....ENJOY!!!

(this is very pic heavy...click on pics for bigger view)

Well it's Sunday morning now. How did everyone sleep? Me, not to good. My first weekend off since the first of the year. Woot Woot!!! Well anyways, here's my card. I created this card using only water color paper. I love it when I do. It just loves ink...the front of the card kind of reminds me of a train pulling into the train station...ha ha!!! There are 2 layers of paper coming through the window that is holding the clock medallion...I used polymer clay and a metal locket to create the rose cameo center piece...glued the clock stamp to chipboard and added some fur...Punched holes in the clock and anchored it using brads...

this is the inside...here's the backside of the medallion...I stamped the checkerboard stamp then added a metal cameo (Horizon Company) to the center...the right side I stamped the image and the rolled the paper from the backside to the front after I stamped the stripes...added the image from behind....the sentiment was added using pop dots to give it some dimension....

the backside...was playing with white picket fence distress marker and it turned out kind of grayish...still need to fix this...I really don't like how it looks right now....

left side of inside of card....I used See D's checkerboard stamp and Tim Holtz notebook paper stamp (scraps left over from front of card)
right side of inside of card...all 3 stamps are Tim Holtz with the exception of the striped stamp and that's See D's...

clock medallion with a polymer cameo rose

here's the locket...I removed the front of it--pushed a piece of black clay into it to form the size--used a mold to make the rose--baked and layered together--I used distress paint to color in the roses...

here's how I created the center...click on photo to get a better view...

it all stared for the love of Distress..ha ha !!!! And a few stamps..

I just wanted to show you the different steps on how a card can take on life with just adding a little more details..here's the front..I think it looks good...slap a greeting on and you're good to go, right!!
(stamps are from Se D's stripped at opening--and Tim Holtz note book and clock stamp)I used distress stains to color paper..

here's what it looks like with the greeting..I also added some cameo rose clay pieces...

and here's going even one step further and added this stamp...this stamp just reminds me of people waiting on a train...lol...you can see that I bowed out the greeting cuz I wanted to add a third stamp in front of the other ones...this is just adding more dimension to your card with just the twist of the paper, so to speak...ha ha!!!
and wa-la...your finished card...I hope I was able to show the different stages of how I make my cards...I have been asked how I come up with my "stuff"..ha ha!! So I thought I'd share a little in site... You know what they say about left handed people, we are way out in "left field" ...*smile*

Well, if you know me, you know what time of year it is for hubby and me...it's HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY...every year I try to come up with something new for our costumes...so this year, well I had a brain fart...ha ha..I wanted to change up my shoes...and this is what I'm starting with....any guesses on how much I paid for these???

what do you think? this looks really awesome in the dark as is, but I'm going all the way...lol...can't wait to put idea to "boot" ... so to speak..

Love Notes Challenge @ Simon Says Stamp Moday Challenge

Happy Thursday Blogland...today I have a dozen roses, a box of candy and a card all rolled up into a vase..I made this for the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge....ENJOY!!!!

ok, so I know this is way out in left field...I made this for DH..Our very first date was on Valentine's Day 18 years ago....so this year I wanted to make him something out of the ordinary ...I made a dozen roses (Recollections),  there's a box of chocolates (Card Connection) and a card stuffed inside a vase (upside down party hat) glued to an empty ribbon roll...and wa-la, Valentine's Day present rolled up into one...lol...and I'm actually thinking about sending this down to his work place...lol...now wouldn't he be the talk of the place....so what do you think? Is it to frilly for a guy?

just a close-up
***
PSX rubber stamps--Tm Holtz distress inks, metal numbers, book plate, door handle, mirror paper--Recollections paper flowers--Card Connection box of chocolates--Dymo label er--Darice paper doilies (used vintage photo- trimmed the centers out and glued to the backsides of the roses)--I also used red velvet paper for the heart inside and out. ..just another way to add another form of texture..

here's the card opened...notice key charm hanging from the Tim Holtz frame holder..I closed the gap to hold it in so that when the card is opened(it hangs on inside) and closed (it drops down as an added embellie on outside) Oh how I love two-fers...lol......

just a close-up of keys hanging down the skewer

backside...I added a punched heart that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist..I still need to figure out something for this side...it just looks unfinished...I glued feather and silver trim around the edges o the vase and spool...

I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to change the colors of the flowers from pink to Candy Apple Red with a touch of gold in there...

here's what they looked like after I hit them with the heat gun..I over dried to kind of scorch the paper and age them more...

I did 6 white flowers with Vintage photo...I wanted a contrast to the red...I also used it on the leaves...and Distress Stain for the skewers...

I used a Prisma pencil with Gamsol for he stamps..went over lightly with vintage photo and added a layer of Stickles...
*******
I would like to shout out to SSSMC design team...they all have one rockin style to them,...I'm loving the challenges and their creations are simply inspiring...if you haven't checked them out you must...you won't be disappointed...

***********************
I am sad to say that this is my last post for DudeTime Doodles. I have decided to step down. I want to thank Boni and the Dudettes. You all are amazing and very sweet. Thank you for such great images Boni to play with each week. I love all of them....

here's what I came up with. I used these fun images (Brad Ball and Chain and Breast Cancer Girl ) and made a Valentine's Day Gift Hat with a pull out tag for saying.... the flower is a zipper...Spellbinders dies, EK Success circle punch, Recollections border punch, Lil Davis wooden numbers, Making Memories adore metal tag and metal rose and some odds and ends from my stash.....

and lookie--here he is...Mr. Brad Ball and Chain in all his glory...lol....I really love his expression....he's a new image that you can purchase from the store.....

here's the opening...I used a flower that I made from scoring a 12" x 3/4" piece of cardstock and score at 1/2" all the way down....then just mountain/valley fold and flip down to make the flower....I made two of these....the bottom is held together with brads....this let's it open and I used one for the front to, but I am rethinking that...not the best closure....
here's the greeting on the inside...
here's a closer view of the zipper flower...I just cut off the bottom of the zipper, and rolled both pieces (back to back) into the flower and glue to a 1" circle punch....I also added a metal swirl clip and a Tim Holtz button....
and here the back where the tag pulls out from....you pull the flower up....
I also added a zipper that you can pull down for the tag as well.... tag and the zipper pulled down.... here's my concoction that I hung from the zipper pull....I love me some Tim Holtz Products....lol....I used the little memo pin and twisted it to use as a hanger....I also hung an acrylic hearts on fishing line and sandwiched it between 2 layers of the metal sprockets...
here's what the metal memo pins look like....
*******************
Well I hope you enjoy your hop. Next up on the list is the vary sweet Tammy....make sure you stop by and see what she's made for your eye candy......Thanks for stopping in today...Hugs from Charm City........
