HDH056 - Monochromatic Monstrosities

This is my second post for today...
Here's my entry into the Macabre Monday challenge over at Haunted Design House.....They want to see the grotesque and the monstrous, and we can only do it in shades of only one color. here's are the shades you can choose from-----black/grey, green, orange, or purple. No I have to tell ya that this is my third project for this challenge....I really wanted to make something with color to it, but the other two projects came out pretty damn crappy....so they ended up in the thank you for coming pile....lol.......ENJOY!!!!!

this is actually a paper mache vase that I converted into a piece of Halloween decoration....I first painted it with white and black acrylic paint to make it gray...then using one of those trusty dusty stencils that belongs to DD, and stenciled in the brick background with black soot distress ink.....then lightly went over it with water to make it look aged....I used Vampire Christian from Simply Betty Stamps new release, cut him out added pop dots and kept it simple at the bottom only using the goo MS border punch......

this is what I did to the top to hide that it was a vase...cut a piece of cardstock to fit but I didn't glue it in...I left it so that flowers could be added if wanted to....I'm really on this roll with the webbing this year....don't know why though.....
and here's just a side view.....hope you've enjoyed this little project....come on over and play along...there's still a little bit of time left......Hugs from Charm City and as always, thanks forstopping by.......

It can't be December already

Can youbelieve it...December first is already upon us...only 24 more shopping (or is it 23) days left until Christmas...I can't believe it...I am so far behind already...but as I see it, one day at a time...one decoration at a time...lol.... If you're in the market for some deals on Cricut carts you have got to go over to Hallmark Scrapbook's store and check out the deals...they have all of them on sale...and what great little gifts they would make for a friend or even add it to your gift list for dear ol' hubby... Here's a littly ditty I've been working on for the past couple weeks...it's a fun little paper mache house that I picked up at Recollections when they were closing at a awesom deal...I used those little miniature chasing light sets and road sign, some snow, added glittler and Dress it up buttons...the tree is from JOTS cart and added the Martha Stuart punched leaves... here's a bag and card set I made for the challenge over at Hallmark Message board...we were asked to use the holly or the poinsetta cut from the JOTS cart...I cut the poinsetta out onto white cardstock and colored them in with some Prisma pencils, added glitter and some odds and ends...
Here's another set for a different challenge at Hallmark Scrapbook to use the snowflake...the bag is actually a lunch bag cut down to size....
and last but not least, another bag set with the frame from the Storybook cart and stamped images using stamps from the dollar section at the craft store....
Thanks for stopping by...I hope everyone has a great week...

It's a Beautiful Day

It's so pretty outside here in Charm City...not to hot not to cool..the sun is shining, and it's just an overall relaxing day,... finally...I've been up since 2a.m. playing in here...I made this project that was alot of fun. It's going to be a birthday box for a gift/gift card for someone. ..don't know who yet, but someone will get it....what do you think? The face is really strange looking..I can't seem to get a good face on anything I make... I made the face with a ball of newspaper, foli and polymer clay and baked it. I also used newspaper for the inside of the hat to give it some stability. On the backside I used the Basic Grey notch tool to make the notches to thread the twine around to make it look like a corsic (sp?)...This was just a small paper mache box that I had in my stash and I wanted to do something with it. There are hat pins in the hat holding the tag. I also used the Accent Essentials card for the Cricut to make the flowers and the ruffles (scallop). Here are a couple of layouts that I made last week or so. They are our eldest and I and then our eldest and our little niece... Well I hope that everyone has a wonderful week ahead. It's going to be another busy one here for me as I'm getting into our spare room to clean it out. I promised DH that I would since he has been so sweet lately. Not to mention he has been on my butt about getting it done....men, they just don't understand.... Hugs from a sunny Charm City

WHEW!!! It's Finished... My HOF is complete. Now I just need to make it off to the post office in the morning and mail it in. I am so glad that I finished this. I ended up changing out 3 or 4 layouts. But all in all, I'm happy with the ones that I chose. I just hope they will be too. Even if it's only to admire the work and meaning behind them. The diet thing has been going. I just wished they gave more foodage in the containers to eat...lol...and I can't wait to try some of the recipes that Pam has shared with me. They sound yummy. Thanks Pam...you are so sweet... Although I know I can't change out some things to fat free or low cal. But for the most part I can. And I really need to get off of this pop thing. I have cut it down to 1 a day. But still, that does not help me any. Our little poochie went into the doggie hospital the other day to get his manly's removed. It's been a long time coming. He's been driving our neighbors crazy, not to mention all of us here. He's just like a man. Panting and pacing until he gets some...lol...sorry I just had to add that. He would sit at my feet (no matter where I was) and pant and whine. It would drive me crazy. Then if he was able to slither out beneath your feet to get out the door, the neighbors would come and pay us a visit. So we are hoping this will CURVE this URGE!!!! So when he came back home today I seen what they had done. I've never seen this before. And I'm thinking to myself, man, I will not let this happen to Scott. No way, no how. To much fun there to take them away...heehee..but all in all, he's doing fine. Still panting some and alittle whining. But the vet says he'll get over it in time. Well I hope that time comes sooner and not later. Here's a little project I made today for a contest. I had so much fun with it.I got these KI papers and have been wanting to use them. So I thought this would make a great project for it. What do you think? I really like the outcome... Well I'm off for now. I need to start working on my DT projects now that HOF is over. And then I'm going to try for the contest at scrapbook.com. They've upped the anti this year. $20,000 contest. Check them out. If you don't want to enter, hop over there and check out all of the wonderful layouts that have been uploaded so far. Some very creative and talented ladies.. Have a great Wednesday...
