Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day peeps....Can you believe it's already here...today is a quick post to share some photos from or jaunt to the beach last weekend to celebrate.....ENJOY!!!!!!
this is what I looked like this year....something way different than years past.... take notice of my shoes.....lol..... ohh, shirt reads--- you touch my lucky charms and I break your little leprechaun.... yep...if you said those were Wal-Mart tennie's, then you are correct...lol....I got a very cheap pair of sneakers (white), spray painted green, added green glitter then sprayed about 4 coats of top coat....added a light up button (see in photo above) on each shoe and I was ready to par-tah!!!! lol....
here's what I did with the dudes....lol....notice the green shoes...yep made him a pair....lol....he was so proud of them too.....
this was a new piece this year--his mug...thought it fit him...we all know how he loves his woo woo's.....I also added a light up cube inside his cup that flashed....
these two were so funny....everyone totally loved their outfits...I mean, look at them, how can you not...they were soo fun....
photo of DH and I....
this is a friend that came down for the day....yep, I dressed her...lol....I tell ya, I still had so much left over even after, as I call it, decorating everyone up...lol....we had a lot of lightups on....
now isn't this just a cute photo....look at DH sneaking in the shot...

Well peeps...that's all I have for today....I hope everyone has a wonderful St. Patrick's Day and don't drink to much green beer....Hugs from Charm City....

Over the Years--St. Patrick's Day

Well it's a gloomy Sunday morning here on the east coast. I hope that you all are waking up to sunshine coming into your windows....or have had a sunny day for those of you who are ahead of me in time.....
Today I thought I would share some photos that will truly make you believe my DH and I are NERDS!!!!!!! In every aspect of the word....lol....but I'll tell ya, this is a yearly thing we do, for ourselves mostly, and we have a blast. We have gotten friends and family to come and hang out with us for the weekend over the years at the beach ( Seacrets Beach Party) . It's just a revitalization for the soul. We get to hang out with friends, make new acquaintances, and act like silly teenagers dressing up for St. Patty's Day. In the photos below, this is what we looked like each year...ENJOY!!!!!!
our first year...not so much garb but I did make a mask ( I know I'm weird) and attached it to my hat using Velcro...I did this so that I wouldn't have to wear the mask all night....I even got on the evening news this year....another 5 seconds of fame...lol....I made a ST. Patty's Day purse that's on my arm out of an old cigar box....
next year...added more stuff...had a blast...I will never put tattoo's on my face again...they were really hard to get off....loved the beer goggles...
DH didn't learn much about the year before with the tattoo's on his face....lol....you can barely see my shamrock boobies I added to this shirt....but they are like the coconut ones..I drilled a hole in the center of the shamrock and added a flameless light up candle to each one as a lighted nipple ( I know--I'm weird once again...lol)...everyone loved this...when DH and I walk around the place, everyone makes us stop so they can get photos with us....lol....it's so cool to see what everyone else does....more and more people are dressing up....and to think, we really aren't even irish....lol.....but we're having a blast at trying to be.....
this was more and more garb---a ton of light-up stuff.....and many many woo woo's....lol....
this is last year's...I think this is the best...I absolutely love how DH looks here....and I've even talked him into using the beard again....with a little twist that I'm adding this year....I can't wait to finish what I'm working on....if they turn out, they will be awesome....lol....
Well I thought I'd show some of our crazy St. Patty's Day photos....it's only a week away for us....this time next week we will be hung over and on our way back to reality...but we will also have memories of our little getaway just the two of us.....I think it's something every couple needs at least once a year....where you can connect and just cherish each other without the cares of the world on your shoulders.....
I hope everyone has a sunny day. Thanks so much for stopping in....get a chance stop over at SEACRETS ( click on site map at top and down to images and check out the scrapbook of photos) and see why we go here....it truly is Jamaica USA....something for everyone...even the kiddies.....Hugs from Charm City...

Graphic 45 Contest Entry

Happy rainy Monday peeps....today I have my entry into Graphic 45's contest for the DT...I am totally in love with their products, but unfortunately I only had paper to work with. I can't wait to get some more....ENJOY!!!!!!
This post is extremely heavy on photos......
I need to come back in the morning to finish writing all of the details....I needed to get this posted tonight....I have been having problems with my computer today and this is the first time that it's let me post.....urgh!!!!!! So until then I hope you enjoy browsing my projects.....

I absolutely love this new collection Once upon a springtime....these papers are just yummy...flowers from Prima--rhinestone from EK Success--rubber stamp from Studio G--butterfly button from Jesse James--other zipper and ribbon

look at how precious this printed post card is.....and a closer shot of the zipper flower

**********************************

I used Communique party line papers for this card....doesn't this image make you think she means business....lol.....MS border punch--Tim Holtz pins--other twine and brads..

*************************

I absolutely love how the little froggie is perched on the rock saying "I'm sorry"....I used Once upon a springtime papers again....I tell ya, I really love these papers...if you haven't seen them yet, just click on the link and go vast over their beauties....lol....I used a distressing roller in the score pal to make the lines on the side of the card.....added some pearls...a super simple card...but I have to say I like it....you know me, simple usually isn't in my vocabulary...heehee... just a shot of how I bow up the image and greeting....
***************************

now look at this face...this is Aunt Rene...who is now 94/95....she is simply just the coolest lady I've ever met....and fun...don't let the Grandma appearance fool you...lol...here I used papers from le' romantique collection....they were so perfect for this photo....Prima flowers--MS border punch--Recollection flower center--EK Success corner punch--Junkitz acrylic alpha's--other pins, beads and stickers...

************************

I used Once Upon a Springtime again on this layout of my niece and nephew....I used polymer clay and cut out the little chicks...one of them I stamped onto it before I baked the clay...Recollections black pearls--Tim Holtz charm--K&Company black glitter alpha's--7 Gypsies metal tag (traditions)--Making Memories brown velvet ribbon--Lil Davis Designs photo hanger--other lace brads and twine...

woohoo....a trapazoid....lol....I left it like to this to have movement on the layout.... ************************ here I made a candy jar using one of the images from the same collection....a simple but cute addition to any shelf or table..... this is the backside and a view of the stopper... ******************** OMG... I can't believe how much I just love these colors together...I am so not a green fan...but I have to say the contrast of these together are so striking...I wish you could see this in real life....it's my version of the hot air balloon....I used a paper mache ball made a box out of cardstock and embellished using St. Patrick's Day supplies found at the store....the papers I used are from Le' Romantique Collection--Studio G greeting.....this was my first try at making one of these so it didn't turn out as expected....
a side view.....
backside *******************
Birthday bag made using Le' Romantique....I love the feeling with this printed paper...kind of like he's sweeping her off her feet....for this bag I wanted the paper to speak....Spellbinders dies--hero arts manuscript stamp--Victorine Original greeting stamp--Recollections pearls--Ranger stickles--Tim Holtz key filmstrip safety pin--Making Memories washer--
side view
*****************************
this is what I call a daily inspiration piece....it actually has 2 sides to it.....this side I used Le Romantique paper--MS border punches--Spellbinders embossing--Tim Holtz flower die and stamp --Lil Davis Design photo hanger--other brads button twine pins
and here's the flip side...I used a proper gentleman collection added the plastic leaves Jesse James--twine and silver heart button other and I printed off the quote from the Internet....
this is sooo true.....
and here's the swivel hanger that I used....it's from the fishing section at your local store....I can't wait to hang this up so it turns and I can see both sides.....
*********************************
and here's my last project....if you've made it this far, thanks so much for hanging out with me....this is a jewelry box with a mirror.....I used Le'Romantique Collection again....I made the box out of cardstock from scratch.....there's a lot going on.....I wanted to have another subliminal kind of message project....
here's the top part...the bird is from the craft store...and the wire heart frame is from a little stuffed angel doll that had it attached as the wings for her....I knew I was going to take this off as soon as I seen it....lol....I just didn't know how I was going to use it...so wahala...lol....
side view....this box turned out to be 8X8....with an attached lid using Making Memories metal hinges ribbon--Melissa Francis crystals--Tim Holtz door knob button key jump rings--other pins, door plate twine feathers....
and this is the inside....it opens up to be a special little necklace holder...even comes with a mirror.... I used a wooden dowel and wrapped feathers around it...you know, a little more elegant.....I positioned the pattern paper in the background so that you could see the ladies face looking at you when it was opened....I also added a recipe for success...just a little something to read.....I made the dowel so that it could be removed to add bracelets more easily....but I did have a happy accident....the metal heart frame from above has the legs extended into the inside....I just curled them upwards and wahala..another hanger for something....at which I used it for the white necklace....
just a closer shot of the recipe...I got this from the net somewhere and can't remember the addy...sorry......
*********************
Whew!!! This was a long post.....thanks so much for stopping by and visiting.....I hope that you have a sunny day...Hugs from Charm City......

New Magnolia Cards St Pattys Day Party and some News

Happy Monday....I hope you don't mind but this will probably end up being a long post. I wanted to share some photos of our trip to the beach to party with friends for St. Patty's Day, some new cards that I made last week and some awesom news. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours here was just a beauty. The sun was shining and it was warm. We started the clean up of our patio of tearing down our bamboo canopy that the storms had totally demolished. Not to mention all of the other things it ruined in the process. DH has decided to build a pergela (SP?). He wants it to be sturdy. No more canopys. But I have some reservations. He's not a builder. I remember when we had a dog shortly after we purchased our home, he tried to build a doghouse for her. She tore it down as fast as he could build it...lol...I still chuckle at the thought of that....so this will be something I will document to add to our family album...hopefully everything will end up the way he invisions. Wish him luck.... The photos below are some of the St Patty's Day party we went to down at the beach. This is something that we do every year. We totally dress up and look like dorks, but hey, it's all in the fun...right!!! This years theme was light ups. I know you can't see them in the photos but we did glow like a tree....lol....we had so many people come up to us wanting us to have a photo taken with them. It was such a blast, a time that we get to spend together and just let loose... I have to say that this is my fav. photo of DH. Look at his hat. All of those shot glasses.....they go all the way around the hat.....and he actually had someone pour beer into them...lol...they use to come out but I had hot glued them so that he wouldn't lose them. and here the both of us are...I told you we looked like dorks....lol...but we had fun not to mention alot of WOOWOO'S...alot of them....my drink holder is actually one of the tall plastic drink thingies with a lid, I just decorated it with a green boa, added the hat at the top and just added some other decorations around it with a couple of lighted buttons...it holds one woowoo perfectly minus most of the ice that they add to the cup.... these guys were so funny...you could tell they were having a blast as everyone was...but look at the next photo with his green shoes...plastic...lol...now if he wasn't a man comfortable in his skin...lol....I soo loved these.... well that's the photos of the party at the beach...here's some cards that I made last week....all images were colored in with Distress ink refills......Enjoy!!!!!!
here's a card I'm going to send DH in the mail. I used the jungle scene, tilda with lace skirt and stuffed couch from Magnolia that I purchased from the Magnolia-licious Store . I'm having alot of fun playing with these stamps. The plants and wall are from Starving Artists. I absolutely loved this set I got from them as you can see more of the set on the inside of the card. It's called Doodlefactory Boudoir and Classic Decor . These work perfectly with the Maggie stamps to.
here's the inside. I took the Tilda with lace skirt head, took another Tilda stamp and cut the hands off , oh crap, I can't remember which Tild she was, to make her look like she was peeking from under the covers. I printed the saying from my computer.....so what do you think? Think he'll like it...lol....I don't know about you, but the longer you're married, the harder it gets to find new ways of, well, keeping things hot...under the covers......lol...
just a closer view...
here's a card I made using the Violin Tilda that I received from Diana at the store for making a purchase. Thank you so much Diana.... I really loved this stamp. I also used the Houses on street stamp from Magnolia. I made this card into a matchbook card.
and this is the inside...I used a stamp from The paper company studio for the inside and the one on the front....
closer view of the matchbook....
Here's my last card to share using Farmer Tilda that I received from a very dear friend Sharon. Thanks girl...she's just darling....I also used the stuffed chair from Magnolia and the rest of the stamps are from Starving Artists. On the curtains I actually made the bar longer by cutting it off and adding a longer piece of cardstock and glued the curtains back on. I wanted to use this stamp, Doodlefactory neighborhood to make it look like you were looking through the window from inside and could see the neighbors houses across the street. I left the saying/greeting blank. I don't know what I'm going to use this card for yet.....
So for my news, and it's EXCITING news, I have been asked by the lovely Betty to be on her design team over at the Burtonesque Dolls Blog. How cool is that. Thank you so much Betty. I can't wait til we can get started...she is looking for some other DT members also. So pop on over to Burtonesque Dolls Blog and check it out. If you're interrested, apply for it...it's really easy peasy....
Well that's all I have for now. I'm going to work on a few challenges this week, so I'll be back later in the week to share....have a wonderful week...hugs from a wet Charm City...
