Did you feel the ground shake

yesterday? LOL!!! The card below was the cause of that. I was doing the happy dance...lol...I really don't know how to make simple cute cards (let alone, stamped) and that's how this one turned out... simple and cute..well at least I think so. I soo resisted the urge of inking the edges so much as to, I had to walk away everytime I went to grab my ink pad to ink the edges. I soo love vintage, but I am trying to venture out abit from my norm. Not to mention using these very cute and adorable stamps that I have been collecting over the years and not using. So what do you all think. It's a card for my sister in law's birthday this coming weekend. I added some pop dots under the owl and the circle saying and some glitter to give it jsut a little touch of added depth. The box set below is for (I think) my Mother in Law for Mother's Day. I used a template for this from Split Coast Stampers. And once again stamped..I am starting to get the hang of this stamping stuff. And now I"m seeing why all you stampers love them sooooooo much....I cut the flowers from Storybook Cricut cartridge (hibiscus--pg 46--- 4 1/2" ). I inked them up using Distress inks, stamped Tim Holtz' letter stamp onto it. Stamped the center flowers using See Dee's stamps and added some flower soft to the top layer. I think these turned out to be just a simple set of note cards. I think she will like them. She's always sending notes in the mail...
inks I used were old paper, worn lipstick and broken china.
Well that's it for today. Off to make another set of something. I have 3 Mom's that I need to have something ready for.
Oh, if you get a chance, over at Bitten By the Bug, the DT is having a blog hop today. So hop on over and check out all of their designs they are sharing. I think it starts at Regina's blog, Hand to Paper .
Have a Happy Monday everyone.....hugs from a very sunny and pretty Charm City

Happy Sunday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday yesterday. If you weren't able to join us on the blog hop, you can still goe through all of the blogs. There is so much creativity and inspiration from all of the ladies. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting each and everyone. And Thanks to Robyn for doing this.
Today is yard work day. Which I totally dread yard work. It's that time of year and it just seems like it's a never ending task. We are trying to figure out what to do with our tiki bar and canopy. Should we add on to our patio or just work with it the way it is. I don't know. But it will be very interesting how it will turn out. DH and I have very different taste in things and we always seem to clash. So it usually ends up being a mismatch...do anyone else have this with their significant other? Or am I the only one?
I would love to share this blog candy. It's AWESOM I tell ya. Not to mention Debbie's creations are spectacular. I am just in awe of her creations. You have got to go and take a gander over there.
Lastly, I'll leave you with a card that I made about a week ago. I used the Wild Card Cricut cartridge to make it. I left it blank though. Didn't know what I wanted to use it for...
Well that's it for today. I do have another box set that I made yesterday for a Mother's Day present using the Cricut, rubber stamps and flower soft that I'm going to post tomorrow. So make sure you stop back in. I was also thinking that I haven't done any blog candy since I've started my blog. So I thought that would be a nice thing to get together and do.
I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Hugs from Charm City

Blog Hop Anyone

Happy Saturday everyone. I want to invite everyone along with my first blog hop. A bunch of us from over at Outta This Funk is participating on this blog hop. Come and join in on the fun and check out some of the most awesom creations that these ladies make. Believe me, you will be so inspired.
Here is my creation that I made for this hop. I made a card set and box for our lovely Aunt Rene for her 92nd birthday. I know it says Happy Mom Day on the lid, but I'm going to change that. I used the template (Valentine's Box) that I purchased from Becky Roberts over at Inking Idaho and converted it for my 5x7 cards. I wanted to use the bigger cards for Aunt Rene to make it easier for her. I also made the lid so it wasn't such a snug fit and easier for her to just lay it atop of the box.
I do have to say that I am so pround of myself though. I'm not much of a stamper, but I used all stamps on this project. Not to mention all cardstock. I colored them in with the different colors of Tim Holtz Distress inks for each card. The inside compartment I'm going to add a few stamps and some little candies.
Here's how it turned out..
Box and 6 cards
the inside with a little side compartment
I used worn lipstick ink
spiced marmalade ink
I used Archival Ink on this one instead. Aqua
dusty concord
fired brick
peeled paint
I also wanted to keep them on the simple side. But I really love how this turned out. And I just hope that she will too. The stamps I used are from Tim Holtz and Inkadinkado.
Now I'm sending you over to
We Would love to know that you stopped in, if you could leave a message that would be wonderful. Thank you so much for blog hopping with us today.

Is it Friday Yet????

I must say that I love Fridays. This is normally a day that I get our little one from school and we go and get movies and Chineese for dinner. It's our special night. And sometimes she has a friend over for the night to.
I wanted to post this layout that I made. I used alot of paint washing and Distress crackle paint (broken china). I have had these for sometime now, and really wanted to play with them. But it's a layout that I really don't care for the outcome. It turned out nothing like I had invisioned. I had a plastic palm tree from one of our little one's bday cake. I tore it apart and white washed it to give it an aged kind of look. The photo is of my in laws. I also used a ball and chain and those lovely Prima flowers. I'm sorry that the photo is not that good.
you can click on the photos to get a better view if you would like to..
thanks for taking a peek today. If I don't a chance to get back here for the weekend, I hope everyone has a great one....

Sweet Miracle

Happy Monday everyone...Here's a quick one that I made just letting go, sort of speaking. I started out with the photo and actually had blue pattern paper for the background, but I ended up using white paint and distress crackle paint. It so doesn't match the photo, but I really do like the outcome. The flower/swirls are actually black rubons that I painted over with a white wash and then added stickle glitter to them to change the appearence. The sweet letters are Making Memories felt letters--black-- that I white washed and added silver glitter glue over top of those too...I like how the black is still there but really muted..
you can click on the image to see more details if you would like to...
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and didn't eat to much candy....

Happy Weekend

How is your weekend going for you? Mine, been busy. I am cooking Easter dinner tomorrow. You know how it goes, clean clean clean before family comes over. So that's what we did.Well, some of the day. I spent some of my time trying to nurse this bad tooth that I have. I went to the dentist this past week and he said that I need to have a root canal done. OHHHH NOOOOO!!!!! Not that. I am so not looking forward to it either. I have been in alot of pain off and on and today took another toll on me. But I did manage to get a couple cards made today and I thought I'd share them with you. I was reading the new issue of Stampers' Sampler. In the article from the Editor she was telling us how she just likes to let loose. Clear her mind and just go with the flow. So I did just that. I got out my stamps and just let loose today. I'm not much of a stamper. I ended up with 3 cards but I'll post 2 of them tonight....I'd love to know what you all think about them. I'm still trying to work on my coloring. I just can't get that down. I used Prisma pencils on the one above and ink on the owl card. I also got out the T!m Holtz hammer and distressed the numbers and brads. Thanks for stopping in and saying HI. I'm hoping to get back to hangin out with everyone soon. I sure do miss you all. Our daughter was feeling better today. Still in some pain but not like she has been these past few days. The Doc said that she could be like this for at least 3 more weeks before the baby comes. So if you could, say a little prayer for her. Thank you so much... Have a great evening...Hugs from Charm City

Just a Quick Update

Our DD has been going back and forth to the hospital yesterday and today thinking she's going to be having the baby. She's not due until the 12th of May. They have sent her home 3 times. I feel really bad for her as she's in so much pain from the contractions. I hope that she either has the baby or that the pain will subside just so she can feel better.
On a lighter note, we just had her baby shower this past Sunday. It was really nice.
Here's a few photos of the shower I'd like to share... here's the soon to be new parents
look at this cake that one of the ladies made. She even used one of my circles that I used for the baby invitations....
here's a centerpiece I made for the tables. I made six of them total. I also made 18 roses made out of baby wash clothes.
The cards posted below are some that Ih ave made over the past few weeks.
this is my very first Magnolia stamped card. Not the best, but it's my first...
I made this using the Dreams come True Cricut cartridge...
here's a card I made playing around with T!M Holtz products...
Thanks for hanging out with me..I hope to have some good news soon on a new bouncing baby boy....
