TBD Challenge #19 Trick or Treating

WOOT WOOT!!! It's another week over at TBD...and that means a new challenge....it's Trick or Treating in Burton's Neighborhood....and to me, that means something funky....so here I used one of Simply Betty Stamps digi's My Pet's B B ....isn't she just darling....ENJOY!!!!! this is a wooden clipboard that I have had for about 2 years now, maybe even longer...it's been up on the shelf in a basket until about a month or so back....then it sat on my bench here waiting for some loving...lol..... I used Tim Holtz birdcage with grungeboard, covered it in black stickles, cut away a couple of the bars and rolled them to the top and added those darling Skullz....I used the iron fence MS border punch, the weird dots embossing folder, chipboard numbers and letter from Lil Davis Designs, chain I aged it in some concoction and splats and trick/treat are from Recollections. I colored everything in with Distress inks....

just a frontal view.... ohh there's my little skull bead at the top hanging down to....I just love those little fella's... a closer view of little Miss BB...doesn't she have such character...I just love that face she has....and there are those awesome skullz from Glo...you can purchase those in the store at Simply Betty Stamps to.

here's the back view...it came with this little dowel so you could stand it up.....does this photo look familiar? It was the sneak peek I posted the other day....this is the finished product from those photos.....I hope you've enjoyed this little project as much as I had making it.......

TBS Challenge #18 Burton's School of Ghouls

Burton's School of Ghouls... what would that be like huh? A Private school for all those fun ghouls and boys Burton style.....Simply Betty Stamps are sponsoring us over at Burtonesque Dolls blog this week. So pop over and check out what the rest of the dolls made....ENJOY!!!!!! Here I used Rio from the Emo Back to School digi set. Isn't she just darling with that big 'ol bubble? It so brings back high school memories. I actually made this into a survival school kit. It opens up to reveal 4 tubes (Martha Stewert), 2 of them have those Razzles bubble gum and 2 of them have those little candy coated chocolate balls. What girl doesn't want to have choco choco at school along with her bubble gum....lol....I also used the school's out digi from Tiddly Inks....Martha Stewert border punches,paper from DCWV, and colored in the images using distress inks......

here's a side view....you can either open it by lifting the top portion up and just untie the black and white ribbon....

and here's the inside....EK web punch......no measurements, I just winged it and laid my tubes down onto a piece of printer paper to make a template first then I went back and cut it out of the pattern paper.....I seem to do this alot......

see...lookie--lookie....lol....these's the big guy..........and there's that ribbon I have been dying to get my hands on...it came from across the miles too....I can't seem to find it here in the states where I live so Debbie offered to send me some....WOOT WOOT!!!!......thanks girl---you're a Doll (no pun intended)..........I absolutely love it!!!!! I jsut had to use it right away......I colored in the image using Copics and distress refills....added alot of bling for the challenge over at Lil Lolita Boutique....the challenge is to "Bling it Up"......outside of the bling on the card, I've also added some to the hair bow, earring and the eye on the skullz.....

My inspiration came from the movie Alice in Wonderland. I haven't seen the movie yet ( I know, I'm such a bad Doll) but I have watched movie clips and searched for photos for inspiration. I really loved how the Red Queen looked so I wanted to use her. I truly love this get up that she wears....not to mention "red" is my favorite color..... isn't she just so serious, not to mention punchy in the above photo....gotta love that hair....lol....I don't think I could have lived back in the Victorian age...they wore to many clothes and lived with no air conditioner....

TBD Challenge #13--The Big Fish

This week's challenge at Burtonesque Doll blog was to create a scene out of the movie Big Fish. We are being sponsored by Smeared and Smudged. They are an edgy wild and very distink kind of rubbah....but very fun too.....Below I used the fortune teller digi, the mermaid and the quote (not for the timid).....they are on the carnival set other than the fortune teller digi. That is separate.............ENJOY!!!!!!!

here's the front of the card. I made this into a flip card. Meaning there's no opening for an inside. Just front and back. Well and a tag that pulls up with a front and back. When I think of carnivals, I can remember hearing a mans voice saying, step right up and see blah blah blah....hence the sign on right side of card....lol.....so you pay to go in and then you would have a curtain--- the pull up tag--and then it would get pulled up to reveal what's behind it.....lol....that's where the thinking came from for this card....I hand drew the tent and once again bowed out the top portion of it....not to mention I bowed out the top and bottom borders for added dimension. ..I added snaps (grocery store) at the top and in the center of the flower (Holtz) and some bling (Prima).......

I thought this would make for a great guy card.....hubby.........I'm sorry...I just have to laugh...it so reminds me of my husband when we're at the beach.......always got one eye on the road and the other on the bikini's....lol....hense, the made ya look saying..... here's the card revealing the mermaid....it's not what a man would hope to see when the curtains went up.....I'm so mean, aren't I.....just have to keep him in check sometimes....lol....we have a weird sense of humor over here...sorry..... and here's the tag outside totally......you can write on front and back of the tag.... here's the backside of the card....now I need to make an envie for this..... ........................................................................................ TBD Challenge #12--Nightmare Before Christmas

WOOT!! WOOT!!! It's challenge time....Can you believe we are already on challenge #12? Where does the time go..... So this week's challenge over at The Burtonesque Doll 's Blog, we are doing Christmas in July.... Nightmare Before Christmas that is! Well I know, I didn't interpret the challenge to well. I'm sorry---I had some mental block going on where I just couldn't think of a thing to make....do you ever get like that?.......so this is what I came up with....Martha Stewart paper and fence border punch--Spellbinders embossing circle plate--Making Memories die tree and circle date chipboard (which I traced and hand cut tree out)--bat unknown--black stickles--and everything colored in with distress inks--I also used a while gel pen for the tree face then used a paint brush with water to remove some ink to make the eyes and mouth....

Challenge #10 TBD--Burton Boys

This week we are being sponsored by Stamp It Crazy. And these stamps are CRAZY FUN!!!! Our challenge this week over at the Dollhouse--The Burtonesque Dolls Blog, is to create a card with a Burton Dude as the main image....on my card I used Hal87--Sic12--Goth17 on the front of the card. And on the inside I used Goth16.....the skinny skeleton I added a bead to his head for a different kind of face.....the background stamp I got from Magnolia-licious Store. It's such a great addition to make a haunted scene with. Other than that I used distress re-inkers and kept it monochromatic. I really wanted to make a guy card since they are so hard for me to make....... And I think I might give this to my nephew at Halloween time. I also added some stickles to the windows....Martha Stewart fence and leaf punches.....Well I hope you all stop over at TBD and play along this week....Enjoy!!!!!!

lol....now wasn't this stamp just made for this joke???? I loved it the first time I seen it...it has so much character.....I used some red glitter on the tongue, some snaps for the eyes, a Tim Holtz metal leaves for the hair and some Tim Holtz jump rings for piercings to the eyebrow.....I just printed the joke onto water color paper and used distress inks.....Thanks for stopping by today...have a great Tuesday.....Hugs from Charm City.....

Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #9 and P3 Challenge

Happy Tuesday. Well we all know what today brings. A couple of challenges that I'm in and one of them is in the dollhouse--TBD with all of the dolls. This week was such a fun week for the challenge that I actually ended up making 2 separate pieces. This week is about Tim Burton's Vampire movie. Well theoretically speaking. If Burton were to make a vampire Movie... what would the poster board look like? Create a project for an Upcoming Burton Vampire Movie! Now how fun is this. We got to use the darling digi's from Simply Betty Stamps. Aren't they just adorable. So below is what I ended up with for the challenge.....Enjoy!!!!!

It all started with a box that actually ended up made into a bag. I was going to use the side of the bag for my poster board. So as I'm making this box into a bag, I was searching for some sort of theme for this vampire movie. And low and behold I came across my bed stamp from Starving Artist--Doodle Factory. I knew exactly what I wanted my poster to be. "IN-Da-Bedroom"....lol....anyways to make a long story short, I thought this would be such a cool thing to do for DH. You know what I mean....So I made a lighted poster board/invite (on back--not finished...sorry) and a little bag to add goodies for him....it turned out cutesy (buy hey not all vampire movies have to be bloody...right)..I ran across a movie that is called Date Night on the net while searching for ideas--And I really wanted Vampire's in the name some how, so I thought why not make these guys Trixie and Louie Vampire (which these are their digi stamp's name in the store)..make it funny/quirky and weird---like---Married with Children-- sitcom..... and I thought with the black stripes it would show Burton's style. This could possibly be a total new direction Burton could think of going...lol...so what do you think? Think DH will like this?

Here's the poster board. It was actually simple with the exception of those darn lights ( I used 3-d pop dots with the exception of the center one...those were the smaller ones and they just didn't want to hold it). That center one, man...it just doesn't want to stay up. I got the lights from Wal-Mart in the wedding isle. Just little ones you can string on ribbon.They can be twisted to turn them on or off...and even using the 3-d pop dots the lights can actually be removed.... I added some Tim Holtz film for them to stand on and to give it some more dimension. The finished size of the poster board ended up being 8 1/4" X 5 3/4" . I know, it's an odd ball size...no rhyme or reason... this is with the lights on. They do a pretty good job only using 3 little ones. And here's my shopping bag. I made them the same with exception to the curtains and lights. The measurements are 9"H X 5" length X 2 1/2" wide....so it turned out to be a nice sized bag...I also used Tim Holtz filmstrip for the handles. this is just a side view..... I'm also entering this sweet little bag into the challenge over at Paper Cubed--June --some type of treat container....well who says treats have to come out of the grocery store....lol.....they could come from Fredericks....or Macy's....or Victoria Secret's...or even that darn ol 24 hr place down the road....lol....you know the one I'm talking about......just kidding...anyway here's what I made......I really like this challenge blog that I happened upon....I can't wait to play some more with their challenges...... Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #8

Happy Tuesday...It's time for another challenge over at TBD. This week we were asked to make a toe tag using Beetle Juice as inspiration. I hope I did this tag justice for the movie..This is all I could come up with.....So if you get a chance this week we would love to see your toe tags for the challenge. I used an over sized Manila tag--distress inks--motorcycle skull stamp is from Class Act--skull and stars stamps are from Inkadinkado--border spider web stamp from Hampton Art--bat stamp JoAnn Essentials--all of the embellies are from Tim Holtz except for the google eyes and skull doo-hickeys--and I also used grunge paper to stamp the Class Act stamp onto and cut it out and added pop dots behind it...the live your life you've imagined stamp is Tim Holtz and I made that using Darcie's shrink plastic....

Ella's Pink Scrapbook--Challenge #11

Good Morning bloggers.....this is my second post for today, so if you're looking for The Burtonesque Dolls challenge post, please scroll down.

I made this layout for the challenge on The Pink Elephant. I didn't have enough time to do last weeks, so I made sure I was able to do this week's challenge. I really miss making my layouts for our family albums. So I'm really going to try and do this challenge every week...so here's what I came up with....the challenge was to use black and white photo and any color choices for the rest.......Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments....they really make my day. ..Enjoy!!!!!!here's the whole layout....... I make 8.5X11 size layouts, so it's always a challenge when there's so much you want to put on a layout. And I really try to keep them only single instead of a double...it just makes my life easier...lol....the photos do open up for more photos,journaling and 3 separate tags that pull out as well.... this is the opening....I used Tim Holtz' artillery....lol....

the opened view....journaling will be stats of the school, teachers, special things that happened...and what ever else little Missy here would like to have....

Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #7

Welcome to a new week and a new challenge over at The Burtonesque Doll's Blog. Our challenge for this week is---A creepy Birthday to you! Make a birthday card and creep it out Burton Style!Our sponsor this week is Tickled pink Stamps. Pop over and check out the awesome stamps that she has in the store. The one pictured below is Lylah. Isn't she just too cute...I thought this would be a great image to make a birthday card ....instead of a card I made a box to put goodies inside. Then on the inside lid I thought I would add a greeting there when I decided who was going to get this box so I left it blank for now....Well I hope you will join us this week for the challenge at TBD blog. I colored the image in with Prisma pencils and the background,stars, keys and the skull with distess re-inkers...I didn't want to add glam because I was thinking this could be a guy card/box... I also used wet glue as it makes your cardstock/paper so much harder when it dry's...a nifty little tidbit instead of using chipboard to make the box...I used one of Tim Holtz' hitch to go through the eye of the skull...wanted to give the illusion of a sword...

here on the side I used Tim Holtz' grunge board keys for my closures...and the buttons are strung together to keep the sides together...I opted for this instead of a regular box ...just wanted to make something different.....

Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #6

Good Morning Burton Fans....This week our challenge for you from the Dolls is Final Cut...And Shave-- Create a card/project inspired by Sweeney Todd and using decorative scissors or paper distressing tools (e.g. Tim Holtz craft scratcher or distressing tool)! One lucky winner will receive two brand new Simply Betty Stamps- Miller and Betty (the wicked little vixen herself)! So make sure you pop on over and check out the store. Then make sure you pop on over the Burtonesque Dolls Blog and check out the rest of the DT's works of art....they are amazing.... The stamp I used is called Betty. She comes with a little poochie but I didn't use it...But isn't she just the cutest? The rest of the stamps are just as adorable as this one is. So pop over and check them out. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for the challenge...

On the background I used aged mahogany distress ink, water colored it in and did a mist of water drops. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. To me it looks like red velvet. Along the side I did use some of Tim Holtz' film strip, but it really is hard to see. It's under the black ribbon...Then I add black stickles and stuck rhinestones in the center ....

I'm also entering this into the Create4fun challenge this week (which was to use white-black and onother color of your choice)..........well that's all I have for now....Hugs from a soon to be wet Charm City....

TBD Challenge #5

Happy Tuesday and it's another day for an awesom challenge from The Burtonesque Dolls. Our sponsor for this week is from Tiddly Inks. She has the most amazing stamps that it makes me want to have all of them. The stamp I used is called Drama Queen. Isn't she just sooo cool. For this week's challenge we are using Sleepy Hollow for our inspiration. Your challenge is to create a card or project using Sleepy Hollow-ish scenery. Think funky trees, pumpkins and elements and put your herion in that scene. There is a fabo prize from Tiddly Inks. And make sure you hop over and check out the new designs. Especially from her Gothic Cute Line. They are just way awesom....I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with from this challenge.....

here's what I came up with for the challenge. And here's my herion, Drama Queen. I actually used her dress as a form of the pumpin. Doesn't it look like one? My background is actually from Van Gogh. I purchased a cd from Dover and this was one of his sketches. I used the Queen from Busy Beauties Boutique. Isn't she just darling? I also used a bunch of other stamps to make the background and colored them in with Distress ink refills. I also used Tim Holtz' line of products for the plate (behind the Queen), grunge paper for flower, film strip and button. I cut 3 dahlia flowers from Spellbinders to make my flower--colored in with broken china and stamped with Tim's word stamp. Here's a closer look of the flower using the grunge paper.....I just love this button. This turned out totally different than what I had expected it to, but I kind of like it. Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #3

Happy Challenge Tuesday all you Burtonesque Dolls followers. Today marks for a new challenge. Are ya ready? We were sponsored this week by Tickled Pink Stamps. The stamp I used was from the Lil Lolita collection --Lilith. And let me tell you, these stamps are just way to fun. I want them all...lol....so hop on over and check them out. You are going to go crazy for them. They so fit right in here with the challenges.... So onto this weeks challenge over at TBD. We were asked to make a card using skulls and black flowers and this is what I came up with.....Enjoy!!! I made this into a 6X6 easel card. I also used alot of nesties, the ribbon tag and flourish accents from Spellbinders and Martha border punches/branch leaves....the skull is from Tim Holtz grungeboard and I added a bunch of stickles and rhinestones...I also used distress inks to color the image in....this image reminds me of someone truly missing a friend....what do you think? this is just the side view....to make the card cut a 12X6 and score 3" on the 12" side and fold at 6"...then take another piece of cardstock and cut it to be 6X6 and adhere only to the 3" score line as shown in the photo above....you can click on the photos to make them larger if you would like...

I really love this border punch from Martha Stewert with the birds....

Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #2

Good Tuesday morning...and we all know what time it is...time for another Burtonesque Dolls challenge....The challenge this week is to make a card that would fit into a Burton movie....we had the lovely digi's from Wild Flower Patch --Jen Shults. They were just so fun to work with. And I just couldn't stop at using one, so I had to do 2 cards...the first one is for the challenge and the second one was just because...you ever get like that? So hop on over and check out what she has available...you will so love her digi's.....they are all amazing..... I got the inspiration from Alice in Wonderland movie...and this spectacular digi just totally fit right in. She's Alice from the Wild Flower Patch. I loved the harlequin background that you see in this movie to....and my paper was actually white but I used distress inks to change the color and make it more rustic...and I am so hooked on feathers right now...I just think they add that little extra flair to a project.....so come on over and do the challenge with all of us Dolls. The material flower was hand dyed using tea...I cut a strip using my pinking scissors and then stitched down one side with a needle and gathered the thread to make the flower.... for this card I just had to use the hounds tooth paper from Recollections...and this darling digi Amarylis from the Wild Flower Patch. Isn't she just gorgeous!!!!! The flower on this one is actually a paper flower from Prima and I change it's color using distress inks..I used black soot and added water to the ink to make it lighter in color and was very careful when I painted the color on. I didn't want to wet the paper to much as it might rip.
