Paper Take Weekly Sketch Challenge & HDH049 Appalling Arachnids

Please scroll down for the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge Post
..........................................................................
This week at Paper Take Weekly Challenge Blog we were asked to use this sketch and we are being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. They offer a variety of things in their store. So pop on over and see what they have. I did see that the new Tim Holtz line is on a pre-order right now if you're interested...........ENJOY!!!!!!The Sketch--it was a fun one to play with to....
And meet Spider Henry...isn't he just the cutest....I just couldn't resist using this digi from WOJ--stamping by Katharina Frei. He just looks happy happy for some reason....I used distress inks--Bo Bunny pattern papers--Stamp Scapes branches--Studio G spider web--See D's quote.....
.............................................................................................
I am also entering this into the challenge over at Macabre Monday. The challenge this week was to use anything with spiders as the main focus. this is what I came up with. I know it's not creepy or crawly, but I just couldn't resist using this darling image that I have been dying to use.....so come on over and join in with the challenge. I'm glad that I was finally able to get one in on time...and I look forward to doing more of these challenges....they are just soo fun....
.................................................................................................
Well that's all I have for today...I hope that you get a chance to play along with us atPaper Take Blog and Macabree Monday....Have a great day...Hugs from Charm City....

TBD Challenge #13--The Big Fish

This week's challenge at Burtonesque Doll blog was to create a scene out of the movie Big Fish. We are being sponsored by Smeared and Smudged. They are an edgy wild and very distink kind of rubbah....but very fun too.....Below I used the fortune teller digi, the mermaid and the quote (not for the timid).....they are on the carnival set other than the fortune teller digi. That is separate.............ENJOY!!!!!!!

(click photo to go to Smeared Ink site)

here's the prize for one lucky entry over at TBD for this week's challenge...isn't this such a great stamp set...and you also get the fortune teller digi that I used........so come on over and play along----good luck!!!!

...................................................................................................................................

here's the front of the card. I made this into a flip card. Meaning there's no opening for an inside. Just front and back. Well and a tag that pulls up with a front and back. When I think of carnivals, I can remember hearing a mans voice saying, step right up and see blah blah blah....hence the sign on right side of card....lol.....so you pay to go in and then you would have a curtain--- the pull up tag--and then it would get pulled up to reveal what's behind it.....lol....that's where the thinking came from for this card....I hand drew the tent and once again bowed out the top portion of it....not to mention I bowed out the top and bottom borders for added dimension. ..I added snaps (grocery store) at the top and in the center of the flower (Holtz) and some bling (Prima).......

I thought this would make for a great guy card.....hubby.........I'm sorry...I just have to laugh...it so reminds me of my husband when we're at the beach.......always got one eye on the road and the other on the bikini's....lol....hense, the made ya look saying..... here's the card revealing the mermaid....it's not what a man would hope to see when the curtains went up.....I'm so mean, aren't I.....just have to keep him in check sometimes....lol....we have a weird sense of humor over here...sorry..... and here's the tag outside totally......you can write on front and back of the tag.... here's the backside of the card....now I need to make an envie for this..... ........................................................................................ Well thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you over at TBD and see what the rest of the dolls did for the challenge......and don't forget to get yourself some of those really cool stamps at Smeared Ink.... ..................stop back by later, I'll have my Paper Take Weekly challenge up.......Hugs from Charm City...................................

Tiddly Inks Challenge 14--Sketch It

WEll hellloooo blogland....I know, it's late here on the east coast, but since I'm still up I wanted to post my card/box for the Tiddly Inks Sketch Challenge. Bur first I'd like to say thank you to Christy and the awesome DT over there for the Halloween in July Blog Hop yesterday. What I have been able to see so far have been crazy cute and so fun. I'm still making my rounds, I do want to see everyone's projects....if you haven't stopped by, hop over and check out all of the projects.... Now this weeks challenge was to use the sketch below and make something using one of the digi's that you can get in the store....so here's what I came up with....ENJOY!!!!!!!
here's the sketch....
I originally started to use the sketch on the card. First off let me start by saying this is a 4.5X4.5" card and envie box. It's a very small canvas to work on...so when I started on the card I made a happy mistake when I went to cut the circle out from the cuttlebug...the die slipped after I had embossed and instead of cutting a circle it only cut about 80% of it....which left me with a door to open....lol...see what I mean about a happy mistake.... This is the outside of the envie box.....I used the sketch here with the darling Pearl. Look at how cute she is...she's the perfect addition to any summer card....here I used her for a Thank You card for my neighbor....I hope she'll like it....
here's the side view of the envie box.....
back showing with closure....only the beige ribbon ties...the orange is glued down....
front of card with door opened....I added a piece of tulle in front of the star fish.....
here I used the Karen Foster brads to run ribbon through as a closure for the card....
and here are the instructions to make the box.....I got these from the Internet somewhere but for the life of me I can't remember where.....if you can understand this and make something like this, I'd love for you to share.....
............................................................................................
Well that's all I have tonight....I hope you get a chance to stop by and check out the other's projects at Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.......have a great evening...Hugs from Charm City.........

Halloween is Hoppin at Tiddly Inks--blog hop

Well I can't believe I have made it for the hop over at Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog. You can click on over to see all of the rules for the hop...... My creation for the hop is a card/box. The top part is the card and then there's a drawer that pulls out to hide some goodies inside.I used quite a few digitals on this, so I'll list those at the bottom with links to them over in the store........ENJOY!!!!!
you can click on photos to make them larger
This is the front of the card/box. I stamped/printed all images onto water color paper and colored them in using distress inks and added stickles....I resized the house to fit an 8.4 11 size sheet of water color paper and printed it off....the tree was printed oversized to match the house.....the finished size is 7 3/4" square.....since this was so big I had to use grunge paper and brads as a closure for the card...the border around the roofs was made using Martha Stewart ice cycle border punch then heat embossed weathered wood distress embossing powder to make them look like they were metal and then just scrunched up the border to give them dimension. A little tab on the lower right corner to be able to open the card....there's a skull at the top but he got sorta dark with the black stickles.... here's a closer shot of the witch...isn't she soo ca-hute? ......I also have beaded chains draped down from the webs and the witch....
Here's the inside of the card...and yep--you guessed it---lol---another scene...but this one is the inside of the house...and look at how adorable these two bats and that little candy avenger is.....I used web embossing plate from Quick Kutz....the couch-table-candles-books-telephone are from Starving Artist Doodle Factory collection...ghost is from Studio G
I thought this could portray the little trick or treater bursting through the door to find the happy bats hangin out in their livingroom....lol...I know--how in the heck do I think of these things...lol...she's a cutie...and I've added an embossed web behind her and she is popped up using a black pipe cleaner...(that's a whole nother story--the pipe cleaners...lol)..I also left this mostly opened for a greeting/whatever....birthday, Halloween box...what about someone that has a Halloween Birthday...
.
and here's the living room side of the card....I used allot of stickles here to.
this is the pipe cleaners behind the bats.....this sane thing is behind the little avenger....
this is the front of the box....I kept it simple...I used the ice cycle punch again to go all the way around the box, added ball and chain around...then added an embossed web with grunge board as a drawer opened.....here you can see that I bowed out the bottom border of the front card...I have really taken a liking to this little dimensional thing,....lol...
This is the side view of the box.....ohh I also have wooden candle thingies that I painted with dusty concord distress ink....which that seemed to be the theme of this whole project.....
And here's the drawer open with the card closed on top....
..........................................................................................
Well that what I have for the hop. So why don't you come on over and hop along with us at Tiddly Inks....it's sure to be a blast.....
...........................................................................................
Christy is offering 35% of an order of $15.00 or more right now to. So this is the perfect time to get yourself some of these way adorable creations she has........so here are the digi's that I used on this project......
Betty Belfrey--Vamp Boto (he comes with the bat on the front in chimney)--Candy Avenger--Batty Bug--Cat Girl-- Home Sweet Home--twisted tree--
................................................................................
There ya have it...just click on any name and it will take you right to the store location of where they are for you to purchase...lol........so I hope to see you there at the hop.....Hugs from a very Hot and Muggy Charm City........

Paper Take Weekly Challenge--Cutie Patootie

Please scroll down for Burtonesque Dolls Post
This week over at Paper Take Challenge, we were asked to make a cute card. A cutie-Patootie.... and I chose this darling Tilda image (that I received from Chris--thanks girl).......We are also being sponsored by Digital Delights which they have some darling stamps and digi's.......so you need to make sure you stop over and check out their digi's and stamps....they are soo cute....I just love their scene digi's--a must see............Enjoy!!!!!!
I used Spellbinders lattice border (finally figured out that it wasn't meant to cut the whole thing out like a die--duh--can we say, blonde moment)---deckled rectangles--labels 4---prima flower--basic grey paper--ribbon and pearlies are from craft store--I colored Tilda in with Prisma pencils
..............................................................
Well that's all I have for today...Make sure you stop in and play along this week at PTW.....we would love to see ya.....Hugs From Charm City

TBD Challenge #12--Nightmare Before Christmas

WOOT!! WOOT!!! It's challenge time....Can you believe we are already on challenge #12? Where does the time go..... So this week's challenge over at The Burtonesque Doll 's Blog, we are doing Christmas in July.... Nightmare Before Christmas that is! Create a card that would fit the whole Christmas colliding with Halloween theme! And our sponsor this week is Michelle Perkett Studios. So be sure to stop over there to check out her digitals. They are just darling and fun and cute.......Enjoy!!!!!

Well I know, I didn't interpret the challenge to well. I'm sorry---I had some mental block going on where I just couldn't think of a thing to make....do you ever get like that?.......so this is what I came up with....Martha Stewart paper and fence border punch--Spellbinders embossing circle plate--Making Memories die tree and circle date chipboard (which I traced and hand cut tree out)--bat unknown--black stickles--and everything colored in with distress inks--I also used a while gel pen for the tree face then used a paint brush with water to remove some ink to make the eyes and mouth....

................................................

So don't forget to stop over and play along this week....and you be sure to check out the rest of the dolls....they have some very creative cards to show you...And hop over the Michelle Perkett Studioes to grab yourself a digi or two........Hugs from Charm City.....

Stamp it Crazy Challenge

Woohoo!! Second post for the day....wow, I'm getting pretty good at 2 posts lately...lol....so this card I made for the challenge over at Stamp it Crazy's Blog--Birthdays and Anniversary Candy...and let me tell you, there's some awesome candy going on here.....--the challenge was to make anything just using their images...either digital or rubbah....and if you haven't checked out their store, oh my...you're in for such a treat....alot of awesome stamps over there.......ENJOY!!!!!
I used the Goth 20 rubbah stamp for the girl .....isn't she just darling...I added pop dots to bring her up for some dimension...the background was made using vellum and a layer of tulle...I tried to keep it so you could see the inside of the card, but it just got a little dark with the stamping of the spider web and stars (Inkadinkado)...I also stamped the web border (Hampton Art) and added some stars to the top....Martha Sterwart ice cycle border punch for the top and bottom borders along with some distress ink dyed cheesecloth....
so do you know what the answer is???? It's peeking alittle through the vellum....any guesses yet??? LOL..... ................................................................. ............................................................ ...................................................... ............................................... ......................................... ............................... ............................. ................... ........... ........ ..... .... ... .. . LOL.....almost there...................................... ....................................................................................................... ............................................................................ ....................................................................... .............................................................. ................................................... ............................................. ........................................ .............................. ........................... ..................... .............. ......... ... .. . yep, you guessed it....a sand-witch....lol......and how fitting is this way too cute witch that I received from Stamp it Crazy....it's a digital and her name is Patty.....and let me tell you, they have some awesome digitals over there....I soo can't wait to get some more of them to play with....so go, check them out, you won't be disappointed..... the moon is from Inkadinkado---background beach scene from Starving Artist--bird from Martha Stewart border punch--all inks are distress ink refills.....
this is just a side view to show the dimension......
Well that's all I have for today....Have a happy one...hugs from Charm City.....

Macabre Monday--Freekers Free for All--Late

Happy new week blog-land....once again, where did last week go....I tell ya, ever since I got older, it seems like time just flies by.....anywho, onto my card I made for the Macabre Monday challenge. This was the first time that I was able to make a card for this awesome challenge blog at which I'm late for...... I just found them not to long ago (thanks Creepy)...and have been mesmerized ever since.....so pop over and check out the creations on this blog....and look at the DT's work...it will just blow you away........Enjoy!!!!!
I just love these darling vampire images from Simply Betty Stamps. But instead of printing and cutting them out like I normally do, I opted to combine these two images (using microsoft word) with a background image (bonnie background) from Digital Delights. I really don't care for the end result though....I liked it up until my sky in the background got to dark with me over working the distress inks....but oh well...and I thought these images were great together as a "we moved" card.....I guess I'll just have to try it again sometime.....
here is a closer view of the flower tag with my skull beads...I soo love these little guys...lol.................
...........................................................................
Well I hope you get a chance to stop over and check out the challenges (I know I will be)...but make sure you stop at Simply Betty Stamps and Digital Delights also to see what they offer.......have a great Monday...Hugs from Charm City

Look Ma' no Feathers....lo....

I know, I know...you're wondering what the heck...3 posts in one day...I can't believe it myself......it feels like I've been on this crafting streak lately and I can't stop.....sorry about that..............so if you came here looking for The Burtonesque Dolls and Paper Take Challenges please scroll down....otherwise here's a layout I made for the challenges over at Ella's Pink Scrapbook #15 (theme-heritage) and Tiddly Inks #13 (match it up).
...........................................................................................
The challenge at TPE was to make a heritage layout. Well I'm sorry to report that most of my photos that I had are gone. They got deleted when my laptop took a dive a few years back. I do have some, but they are buried.... So I went through the photos that I have on the computer and really loved this photo of our little one and her Grandpa. I love the smile on his face and how our little one is right there next to him. I just changed the photo to black and white to make it vintage looking......
.................................................................................................
and this morning I seen that Tiddly Inks' new challenge was to match it up and thought of this digi image (pinky) instantly. I also used Froggie Thoughts, Twisted Tree and Silver Moon Set.......I hope this turned out vintage enough for the challenge.....I used vintage pieces from Tim Holtz and tried to color in Pinky so she looked like she was a vintage doll.......Enjoy!!!!!!!
................................................................................................
here's a side view with the tag that pulls out at the top........
And here's the front view......I mixed up the title using stickers, rub ons and material letters....I don't know, but this kinda feels off balance to me...what do you think? Seriously......
Aren't these two just sooo ca-ute.....I added stickles to the crown, dress and cup cake.....
just a closer view of the right side using Tim Holtz products.......
..................................................................................
Well that's all I have...promise.....I'm off to take a nap.....haven't been to bed yet since I got home from work this morning....have a wonderful day....hugs from Charm City

Paper Take Weekly Challenge--In the Garden

Please scroll down for the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge Post.....thanks!!!!
This week the Challenge at Paper Take Weekly
is to use anything connected with the garden--- flowers, out doors, birds, trees--- on your creations. We are being sponsored by Lilac Lemon Designs. I have never heard of this company, so I went investigating and let me tell ya, they have some darling rubbah!!! Hop over and check out their stamps. They are cute, fun and so creative..... ..................................................... On my card above I used, yep you guessed it, more transparencies from Creative Imaginations. I loved these when I purchased them, but didn't love them enough to use them....how sad is that....lol...so I have vowed to use what I have on hand. So I hope you won't get sick of seeing different ways to use transparencies..... .................................................. I used the darling image from Tiddly Inks (always the flower girl)....I just love how she is bold enough to just be plain with no coloring except on the flowers.....I also used the transparency for my greeting that was already printed on it so it made this a really fast card to make....I cut the strip at the bottom for dimensional, added paper behind my greeting that I wanted to use and bowed them out once again.....lol......instead of using adhesive or sewing to adhere this to my card, I used brads..... which I find these really great. It let me take off the transparency as I needed to finish my card....I also used MS border and butterfly punches and pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye..... .......................................................... So come on over and play along this week at Paper Take Weekly. We would love for you to join in.......Have a wonderful week and as always, thanks so much for stopping by!!!! Hugs from Charm City

TBD Challenge #11

'Wood" you like to be in a movie? Create a card/project in black and white a la Ed Wood for this week's challenge at Burtonesque Dolls blog and we are being sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps. I used the 30's Lylah image to create my card. Although it's a super simple card, I like how it turned out. I don't think it really fits with the movie though...sorry.....so come on over to TBD challenge blog. We would love for you to play along with us this week.........Have a wonderful Tuesday and remember my second post will be here shortly....Hugs from Charm City

Halloween is Hopping @ Tiddly Inks and out from the Archive's

Happy wet Saturday blogland. We have a big storm on our hands right now to. But we really need the rain as I posted in my last post, so it's a good thang........so for today I wanted to share some news about Tiddly Inks. Later this month Christy is releasing some new images and they are going to do a Halloween Blog hop in July. I've posted all the info at the bottom of this post so you can check it out. It sounds like alot of fun and I can't wait.
.....................................................................................
I don't have anything new to share with you today, but I thought since I've been missing scrapbooking my family photos, that I would drag some out of the archives that I don't think I've ever shared here on my blog. And lo-and-behold, I found some Halloween ones....WOOT!! WOOT!!! (as Betty Boo says)...and then a couple other ones that I really like....ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
...........................................................................................

this is a paper paint bucket that I got from Home Depot and decorated for candy to go inside....

this is our nephew at Halloween one year as the hulk.....he's such a silly guy... our eldest daughter....isn't she just so cute...she would dress up and take our little one around trick or treating with her friends....how cool is that for a big sister....
and I have to say, this is my pride and joy home made costume. I made this whole thing from scratch other than the sweat pants and shirt (store bought)....I hand dyed the outfit and cheese cloth to match and hot glued everything together....and used a headband to make the cheese cloth drape over her head.....our little one actually loved this costume.... this is our little niece when she was a baby....I really like how I used alot of photos on this 8.5 X 11 size page....(oh that little white blotch isn't on the real photo....I think it was on my scanner at the time.... ) this photo is a fav. of mine...our little one had to go out and play in the first snowfall in the middle of the night that year...she is actually wearing pj's....lol...I just like how I was able to capture the snow falling in this photo...and it was dark to...the big "S" letter is actually chipboard swirlie thingie that I turned on it's side to make the letter......lol....
this was just one of those photos you get taken on vacation. The little boy and older girl were kids we met while there. They had a condo a couple doors down from us with their parents.....
and here is one I think our little one will cherish later in life. I had her write a letter to her grandparents and we tucked it away in the envie I added to the layout. I just added some stenciling and other do-dads....
.....................................................
Well that 's all I have for today.....I hope it wasn't to long of a post..... remember I've posted the info for Tiddly Inks Halloween blog hop below.....Hugs from Charm City!!!!!!!
