Just Because

Happy Monday Morning Blogland!!!!!
Today I have a just because card....Meaning, I made this" just because" the spirits moved me.......you ever get those feelings? Just sitting down to make something, anything, just as long as it wasn't for a challenge or design team that you're on? I did yesterday.....the turnout is different from how I thought when I started it, but I do like the ending....ENJOY!!!!!!
see, I told ya it was different....I guess I would call this card, getting back to my roots....lol....before I got hooked on the challenge blogs, I use to make things just sitting down and adding "stuff" to paper after paper...lol....and I truly have always loved the vintage look so this card was so me......
********************
I used Tim Holtz flower die cut them out of chipboard and added distress embossing powder to the petals.....added another metal sign from Making Memories for the greeting, some little lights, pearls and glass sprays....ribbon and lace are from Making Memories also...and pattern paper from Flair Design....

here's just the closer view of the flower...you can see the texture that the distress embossing powder leaves behind....it reminds me of sandpaper....but I love it!!!!! LOL....

Well, peeps, I just wanted to pop in here and say I hope you all have a great week ahead.....Hugs from a cold Charm City....

Tiddly Inks Christmas Challenge--Again

Ok blogland...I just couldn't help myself with making another card for the challenge over at TI. It's such a fun challenge, and boy do I need fun right now in my life....you know, I truly love this time of year...but I really hate the lead up to all of the decorating and buying of gifs. Just the stress of it all. So I try to find some fun things in there to offset the bad, the ugly, the can't get out of "the must get done things"before family and friends grace you with their presence on Christmas Day...fun filled day that it is, but it's still stressful.....lol....so with that being said, I hope that this will bring a smile to your face and brighten your day....I know it does mine when I hear this song, at which is our family favorite song....I'm sure this will change as our little one gets older and older, but for now, we just love to hear this song and really crank up the radio when it comes on...lol............ENJOY!!!!
Now you say, what the heck is this....Can you guess what song it is? I'm not going to tell you, but you will have to click the link below to find out.....
********************
I used Christy's check my list twice and hip hip hooray from the store. Tim Holtz flower die--dry embossed with embossing folder and then turned around and wet embossed using Tim Holtz distressed embossing ink. I totally love the texture it gives to the petals...colored everything in with Prisma pencils and added some distress stickles to the hat and dress....paper from SEI...I just love that the paper was like this...it already had the scene in place for me....wooty woot woot!! Making Memories for the center of the flower.....
just a closer view of the flower...I cut this 3 times in white, embossed the top flower using the cuttlebug, added red and green inks to them, then embossed.
I love the dimension that the distress stickles leaves after it dries....I did merge the hippo's with the thinking balloon (sorry, can't remember where I got this one from) using Microsoft Word and printed it out onto white paper. Added stickles around the border....
**********************
come listen and see video...total cuteness...lol....make sure you tell me what song it is....
*******************
Well that's all I have for today. Make sure to stop in tomorrow for my project for Stamp It Crazy....Another great challenge.....
Thanks for stopping in and have a sunny day!!!! Hugs from Charm City......

Tiddy Inks--Christmas Caroling

Wotty Woot Woot!!! I can't believe I made it for another challenge at Tiddy Inks...but ya'll have to keep it under wraps...I'm suppose to be doing other things to get ready for Christmas/laundry that I just couldn't help myself to make this card first....lol....But before I share my card, I'd like to say a HUGE Thank You to the team from TI -- my card was chosen in the top five for the last challenge....thanks girlies....ENJOY!!!!!!!

The theme was to make a card using images for your favorite song. Can ya guess what my favorite song is? I have been singing this song ever since I seen the challenge there...lol....

here are the images that I used from Tiddy Inks--dream castle--red nosed bot--inky critters--the watts ....the car is from MelJen Designs...I colored the images using Prisma pencils and the background is distress inks. Add some stickles, liquid glass and the snow writer pen...

Now I know you are singing this song by now....I know call me weird, but I have loved this song since I was a little girl....Grandma got RUN over by a Reindeer....poor thing...she shouldn't have had that last glass of egg nog...lol...
just a closer view...
I just thought I'd leave you with a video...have fun....off to tend to the "to do list"...and guys say they are the only ones with those...lol......NOT!!!!.....Hugs from Charm City.....

PaperTake Weekly Red/Green must not be seen Challenge

Hello My Little Bloggers....How's it going this morning for you? I don't know where you live, but here in the States (East Coast) is it a freezing 27 degrees outside. Not to mention the wind is blowing like mad...so it makes it even colder out. This morning I'd like to share my card I made for PTW. The challenge this week is red and green must not be seen. and here's a card I made....so way out there it isn't even funny...lol...but somehow it grew on me. I used my Expression and cut out the postage stamp from Sweethearts cartridge at different sizes and layered them. I stamped Santa (Tim Holtz die) shaded it in with a blender copic marker...added some Prima swirlies and the poinsettia flower die (Tim Holtz)....paper from DCWV Luxery Stack....greeting from Inkadinkado and Jolee's for the rhinestone. I added a few flowers and pearls to the inside.......Well that's all I have for today...Stop over and check out what my teammates have created for you to see....they are simply amazing.....Have a sunny warm day in your neighborhood.....Hugs from "Chilly Willy" Charm City ...

Tiddly Inks Christmas Time Challenge

Well Hellooooo...this is my third post for today ( I know-can you believe it)...I have been dying to get a challenge done in over at Tiddly Inks, but sometimes life doesn't allow for the things we want....but I did however get this one in...and I truly love how it turned out (for the most anyways...lol..)....ENJOY!!!!
You all know how much I "love" to add lighting to my cards/projects not to mention "windows"... Well it was time I made something for Christmas. I really love how this little penquin (this is just one in a set of 4 to this image) is inside looking out at Frosty. I used Krylon Frosted Glass finish and sprayed on top of the transparency that I used to make the window....it gives it that semi see through look...lol....greeting from Making Memories, lights (EK Success)and tinsel from Michaels...bamboo skewers from grocery store...gotta love cheap finds like these...
side view of what's going on inside....lol...
here's the inside scene with the Bah Huggabug's and Christmas Joy. Images are from Tiddly Inks....Christy has such a way with her images that I just love....the fireplace, rug, backboard and outlets are from Starving Artist....Paper is from Cosmo Cricket...you can see the light at the top here...I just cut an X in the crease and slipped in a light that is from Martha Stewert. I love this cuz it is easy to turn on and off the light and even replace it if necessary.... here's the outside front with it lighted ...truly love how the frosted glass finish gives it such a soft glow.....
just a side view lighted....
look at Christmas Joy in there....she could bring joy to anyone's holiday....
****************
Well that is all and I mean all...lol....I have for today...I am off and running agian today to try and finish what we started yesterday......I truly hope everyone has a lovely day and thanks again for stopping in......Hugs from Charm city...

I used a little globe to add the greeting and trees along with some glitter and beads.....
just a side view...I haven't added the separate thingies yet so I know what section is what....... closer view of the globe with the glitter and beads.....
this is just the inside.....super duper simple....I tried to stay away from bulk.....

PaperTake Weekly--Sketch #51 Challenge

Woot Woot!!! It's another week for a great challenge over at PTW. This week we are doing a sketch challenge...It's a simple but good one....and we are being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. They offer a wide range of products....so hop on over and see what kind of Christmas goodies you can get......ENJOY!!!!!!
here's the sketch...how fun is this...the possibilities are so endless....
and this is what I came up with....it's a 2"fer...lol....it's that time of year and I love to make home made boxes and things to stuff presents in for my family and friends...I'm thinking this set will go to my nephew who's 13...maybe not though....anywho, I used the sketch on the card and sort of on the milk carton....the stamps are Darcie's (#pol 12 set) except for the tag those are from Studio G....and the template for the milk carton came from here....remember I posted a box I made the other day for Stamp It Crazy (just scroll down and you can see it)? Well I found the link and you can go and make one yourself....but for the milk carton I used the same directions for the big box and just added an extra score mark.....and then kind of folded in the sides a bit to form a carton.....and this my friend was found by making a mistake when I was following the directions....I really like how big this is...the other cartons are abit smaller in size and you can't pack as much stuff inside them.....
here's the card....I just love this snowman pirate.....I just kept this real simple since a teenager is going to get it....they normally are all about the gift and not the packaging...lol....I colored in the images with Prisma Pencils.....
the carton...I just folded down the tab at the top (which is actually one of the score marks on the instructions) and added a clip to keep it together....
here's a side view.....I truly love how this turned out....and I'm sure you'll be seeing more of these this holiday season...hope you don't get to sick of them.....
Well, I want to thank you for stopping in today...make sure you stop and see what the rest of the team has created...they always amaze me week after week with their creativity.....Hugs from Charm City....

So anyway I can add that dagger in just a little deeper I will...lol...all in fun, you know that, right!!! Here in our house, DH--DD and I are all fans of different teams...and we each have our own footballs that sit on top of the entertainment center...and who ever is in the lead for the season that week, their football gets to be out front....needless to say that DD's has been out front for the past few weeks...and she's loving it....she's a Raven's fan mind you....so I thought this card would make it to her book bag one morning before she goes off to school...lol....ok, enough...sorry for my ramblings......
here I used Hank Holla from the new collection being released today...you can find him and the football at Bonibleaux Designs...it's under the dollar section (football) on the left hand side....I just kept this a very simple card... I think it get's the point across....and when she shows her friends at school, I know they will all laugh...they are all Raven's fans too....
*********************** Well that's all I have...your next stop is the darling Tammy's Blog...Have a sunny day and thanks so much for stopping by today.....Hugs from Charm City...

Macabre Monday HDH063 - Freaker's Free-for-All

Happy Saturday everyone...well it's a little gloomy here....yesterday we lost a co-worker to an accident....she was standing in the back of her pick-up truck, fell and hit her head on the curb just outside of the bed..she had hit her head so hard that they could not revive her while waiting for the ambulance.......she ended up being brain dead when she got to the hospital and shortly thereafter past away...shortly just before that, we were chatting about life together....just about the weekend and the weather and all.....and then not even 5 minutes after I had left work, this happened....this is just another sign to live life to the fullest...and make sure you tell everyone around you how much you care and love them....to be the best possible person you can be.....it's a sad day here, but I am looking for the sun to be shining today as that's how our friend was....very bubbly, happy and always had a smile on her face.....May God be with her family in this time of need....please say a prayer for them.....
**********************************************
....this week over at Haunted House Designs it's a free-for-all....just dark and creepy.... I don't know if you would consider this dark and creepy, but this is what I ended up with.....ENJOY!!!!!!!
Poor Santa is down to his bones and has one last place to deliver presents to and realizes where it is....lol.....this turned out to be a gift box of some sort......no one in particular to give this to either....I have been dying to use this image from Stamp it Crazy....sorry though, I don't think I gave Santa justice......I also used the row homes from Starving Artist--stickles----grass, fence and trees cut from my Expression----- and MS branch punch layered the trees for added texture.....
here's a side view....it's a pretty deep box.... about 2" deep...I used black stripes with Tim Burton in mind......but I'm thinking it needs a trim around the top and bottom to kind of finish it off..... just a view on it's side together.......well that's all I have for today....I'm having dinner and cake (home made apple pie instead...lol) for my Father-In-Law today....he's up here from the beach for a few days and yesterday was his 72nd birthday.....so we wanted to celebrate with him.....I hope everyone has a sunny day....Hugs from Charm City.....
