CLP Sketch Challenge #43

Good morning blogland...it's been quite awhile since my last visit. As you know, I am in the process of purging...our "stuff" that we have acquired over the years. So this past year I have been purging, painting and redecorating. Not to mention the countless hours I did on the landscaping last spring and summer. Well since the holidays, I have come down with pneumonia and it's been quite a show stopper. These past few weeks there's been nothing but misery. But as I sit here typing, I do see light at the end of the tunnel. Thank Goodness!!!!
*************************
I wanted to tell everyone that I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and all is well with you and your families. We had a wonderful holiday to. I have missed everyone so much. And do hope to be able to play more with challenges....and I do have some exciting news coming soon. So stay turned for further details....
*************************
Yesterday I was over peeking at Eulanda's blog and drooling over all of her creations and seen a post for CLP's sketch challenge. I went over and got the sketch and decided to play...yah!!! If you only knew how long it's been since I've been in here to play in my room....it's a fun sketch, so hop on over and play along this month....ENJOY!!!!!
Here I used a kit that I had put together awhile ago and had in my to do box. I have wanted to play with these images like forever...They are from BoniBleaux Designs .....I'm sorry I don't have a direct link, but go and check out the digi's that Miss Boni has there....
**********************
paper from Basic Grey--Distress inks--KI quote and metal hinges (I do believe)--Making Memories brads--and just some netting off of my tiki bar....
here's the inside....this quote I thought fit the image....doesn't he look guilty...of something...lol....Karen Foster bull--Making Memories frame--Jolee's Boutique owl...
*******************
Well I do hope to start visiting all my peeps here....thank you for being such an inspiration to me. If you get a chance stop over at CLP and play along this month with the sketch.......Hugs from Charm City.....

Beer..helping ugly people (DTD)...plus one

Happy Sunday morn peeps....I can see a glorious day coming on here in Charm City...yesterday was sunny and very warm here...it felt great to have my windows open....today I'd like to share a couple cards...first one is for the challenge over at DudeTime Doodles....I was happy as pie when I seen this one....and the second card was one I had made a few weeks back....not to sure if I really like it......let me know what you think...ENJOY!!!!!
now look at this image....it's the mug o' ale image from Bonibleaux Designs...doesn't this just scream "manly"?...so the challenge this week is to use the inspiration photo make an easel card...it has to be a guy themed card to.....I forgot to upload the inspiration photo....just click and it will take you to it....it's a fun one...I used DCWV citrus papers--stickles--spellbinders dies--MS border punch and some pearls and honkin eyelets...lol....I have had this little quote on a sticky note for a month or so and thought it was perfect for this challenge with the mug....lol....but when you think about it, it is sooo true...lol....
lol...gotta love a cute quote that fits a man... here's a side view.....I kind of bent the die border in half to use as a stopper for the front of the card..... and here's a second card that's been sitting here trying to get some love from me....I just don't know if I can...I'm just not feeling it....I actually liked it until I added the silk ribbon with the flowers and such...oh well..it's a finished card.... ******************* Well that's all I have for today....I do hope that everyone has a sunny day and thank you so much for stopping in.....Hugs from a sunny Charm City.....

the house that LOVE built-- paperbag

Wooty Woot!! It's Saturday...it is abit dreary outside though, but at least I'm not out in it today....thank goodness...our weather here has been tremendous...as I'm sure it has been where you live....so what better way than to stay inside and play......I made this card for the challenges over at Kenny K's (my favorite things) and Stamp Something (use a digi)......ENJOY!!!!!
I just loved this image from Kenny K (Carmen Electrafying) ...it reminds me of DH's secret fantasy of me coming home with a stamp like this....well he is just going to keep it a fantasy cuz it ain't happening....lol...not that I'm against these stamps, but my body is...things have already gone south, so this would not be a good addition...get my drift...lol....I paired it up with a Magnolia Haunted House...I added MS punches (favorite things...lol)...and on the gate punch I embossed using Distress embossing powder....I just love this stuff..it gives it a sandpaper feeling....paper from Making Memories.....colored everything in using distress inks.... and here (left inside of card) I used Dr. Strange Glove (use a digi) from BoniBleaux Designs.....lol...isn't he just dawling....I remember a cartoon with the Flintstones that there was a DR. Love or something like that...they were held captive in a castle with these flying dino's...anyone else remember that segment of cartoons they had on....or am I the only weird one.....I so can't remember where I got this saying from...sorry....
and here's the other side.....here I used rubber stamps from Stamp Scapes (fir row--tree trunk trio--crooked path)....and Inkadinkado (rolling hills--camper).....I masked the images as I stamped them to make a scene.....my thinking was that the main house was the waiting room and then when you went in to see Dr. Love you had to go down this pathway to the "exam room"....lol.....you can see the tag that pulls out from the right side pocket....
here's the tag...I just used another piece of embossed gate punch and made that into a handle to pull the tag out....added a brad that says love that was embossed to.....
the complete inside of the card.....
here's the tag...you can see the brad better with the embossing.....
*****************
Well that's all I have for this dreary Saturday......I hope your day is filled with sunshine and alot of smiles.....hugs from Charm City......

Here's the list on case you get lost.....ENJOY!!!!!! Nancy (you are here) Tammy (next) Theresa Fink Anne Cleota Ruth Hetty Boni Lynn Shelly Chrissy D. Dude Time Doodles
***********************
I am sad to say that this is my last post for DudeTime Doodles. I have decided to step down. I want to thank Boni and the Dudettes. You all are amazing and very sweet. Thank you for such great images Boni to play with each week. I love all of them....

here's what I came up with. I used these fun images (Brad Ball and Chain and Breast Cancer Girl ) and made a Valentine's Day Gift Hat with a pull out tag for saying.... the flower is a zipper...Spellbinders dies, EK Success circle punch, Recollections border punch, Lil Davis wooden numbers, Making Memories adore metal tag and metal rose and some odds and ends from my stash.....

and lookie--here he is...Mr. Brad Ball and Chain in all his glory...lol....I really love his expression....he's a new image that you can purchase from the store.....

here's the opening...I used a flower that I made from scoring a 12" x 3/4" piece of cardstock and score at 1/2" all the way down....then just mountain/valley fold and flip down to make the flower....I made two of these....the bottom is held together with brads....this let's it open and I used one for the front to, but I am rethinking that...not the best closure....
here's the greeting on the inside...
here's a closer view of the zipper flower...I just cut off the bottom of the zipper, and rolled both pieces (back to back) into the flower and glue to a 1" circle punch....I also added a metal swirl clip and a Tim Holtz button....
and here the back where the tag pulls out from....you pull the flower up....
I also added a zipper that you can pull down for the tag as well.... tag and the zipper pulled down.... here's my concoction that I hung from the zipper pull....I love me some Tim Holtz Products....lol....I used the little memo pin and twisted it to use as a hanger....I also hung an acrylic hearts on fishing line and sandwiched it between 2 layers of the metal sprockets...
here's what the metal memo pins look like....
*******************
Well I hope you enjoy your hop. Next up on the list is the vary sweet Tammy....make sure you stop by and see what she's made for your eye candy......Thanks for stopping in today...Hugs from Charm City........

DudeTime Doodles--Inspiration Challenge--No Cards

WOOTY WOOT!!! Can you believe we are in for another challenge at DudeTime Doodles....for this challenge you make anything but a card and made for a Dude.....and you take your inspiration from the photo below or the projects that we've made over at DTD.........ENJOY!!!!!!!!

inspiration photo...when I looked at this photo I instantly thought, look at all those guys...and what better way to portray the male gender by making something that they love to do......drink beer....I needed something for my Brother-inlaw's 40th birthday in a couple of months.....

and here's what I came up with...it's a bag, money holder and a card....I used these way cool images from Bonibleaux Designs.......Ahoy Matey Set and the Ice Bucket..... here's the card....I used the ice bucket...colored it in with distress inks added a label from Spellbinder's and used s piece of printed transparency (unknown)....paper is from My Mind's Eye.. I love how the print on the paper at the top really goes along with the theme...lol.... and here's the little bag....I just made one out of cardstock, added the pattern paper , same as above.....Ahoy Matey I colored in with Marvy Markers.....I also stamped a Tim Holtz stamp onto shrink plastic and made a charm......
here's a closer view of the charm and the transparency over top of the ice bucket...
and here's the little money holder I concocted using a paper mache band-aid....here I used the other image in the Ahoy Matey set....what better way to start the evening out but with some drink money...lol....same piece of transparency and pattern paper...I used Tim Holtz metal numbers and metal door handle....
here's what it looks like as you pull the handle up.....more Tim Holtz products...and the spool that I wrapped the money onto is one I had from ribbon....love those little spools.....
here's it all the way out....I added more chain and a guitar pic that shows a different kind of picture when moved.....love that little find from the local 7-11 store....and another one of those metal flip tabs from Karen Foster....
just a closer view......
and here's the whole sha-bang..I wanted this to make noise inside so he would have no idea...lol....look at the skeleton guitar pick.....then look at the one below.......woot woot!!!! lol....
looks like he's even enjoying a beer....lol....
********************
Well thank's for stopping in today.....make sure you check out what the rest of the Dudette's came up with.....and then join in....what does that inspiration photo say to you.....Hugs from Charm City.....

Happy Tuesday morn there peeps. Today is a new day for a new challenge from PTW. The challenge for this week is cold and frosty....this soo fits our weather right now...it's very cold...and starting later today, we have the snow front that you have probably already had or is getting, like us, on the East Coast. So how appropriate..... Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish. ......ENJOY!!!!
here I used Paul Penquin, Sammy Dah Snowman and In the Cold digi stamps. Paper from SEI --trees from cricket cart--greeting printed off my computer--and I actually colored everything in with Marvy LePlume markers.....highlighted with distress inks on the snow, trees and greeting.......
just a side view....
and here's a second card I made using this way too kewl image Eskimo Joe from Bonibleaux Designs. Although he's not released yet, you will be seeing him sometime in the future...did you know that when you are looking at an image in the store there, if you scroll down there's a tab with additional images to look at. I love this option. I don't know about you, but when I'm looking for new images, I love to have a finished project right next to it for a visual...it really puts an image into perspective....so hop over and see what I'm talking about....
********************
I also used the same paper as the one above..SEI....I used MS border punches--stickles--colored in image with distress inks--printed the greeting (which this will be us once again after today..lol)...and added a bunch of sparklies as snowflakes coming down....maybe a tad to many, but I do like it.....
******************
so stop on by at PTW and check out what the rest of the team has created.....we'd love for you to join in this week.....I hope you all have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by.....Hugs from a chilly Charm City.....

DudeTime Doodles Dec Blog Hop

We did it! We have hit the official one month mark for DudeTime Doodles and Bonibleaux Designs has pulled out all the stops for the New Release Blog Hop this month!
[Bonibleaux Designs Aaron Aeronautic] made by Miss Boni herself... A great tutorial to create this very cool display can be found HERE. You will see all of the new release digis worked up for your viewing pleasure and be able to purchase any of the new images today in the store! We're doing something different with the Blog Hop this week and that is that one of the Design Team Members will be secretly chosen as the "MYSTERY HOSTESS" of the blog hop and one lucky commenter will receive a GRAND PRIZE Free full set of New Release BDD digital images $30 value This Blog Hop does not have a starting and ending point so no matter where you HOP on you are in the right place. Just keep going. Don't forget to leave some love everywhere you land, including here! Once you have gone full circle you have completed the Hop. If you've come here from Ginny's blog then you are on the right track..... ENJOY!!!!!!! you all know how much of a STEELER'S fan I am...well I thought this would make for a great card to send one of my opponents that loves another team....lol....let's go STEELER'S--Let's GO!!!! lol....I walk around at work sometimes and sing this....let me tell ya, I live in Raven's country...and being a STEELER'S fan, I take alot of wrath...and I mean ALOT!!!! So anyway I can add that dagger in just a little deeper I will...lol...all in fun, you know that, right!!! Here in our house, DH--DD and I are all fans of different teams...and we each have our own footballs that sit on top of the entertainment center...and who ever is in the lead for the season that week, their football gets to be out front....needless to say that DD's has been out front for the past few weeks...and she's loving it....she's a Raven's fan mind you....so I thought this card would make it to her book bag one morning before she goes off to school...lol....ok, enough...sorry for my ramblings......
here I used Hank Holla from the new collection being released today...you can find him and the football at Bonibleaux Designs...it's under the dollar section (football) on the left hand side....I just kept this a very simple card... I think it get's the point across....and when she shows her friends at school, I know they will all laugh...they are all Raven's fans too....
