Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #9 and P3 Challenge

Happy Tuesday. Well we all know what today brings. A couple of challenges that I'm in and one of them is in the dollhouse--TBD with all of the dolls. This week was such a fun week for the challenge that I actually ended up making 2 separate pieces. This week is about Tim Burton's Vampire movie. Well theoretically speaking. If Burton were to make a vampire Movie... what would the poster board look like? Create a project for an Upcoming Burton Vampire Movie! Now how fun is this. We got to use the darling digi's from Simply Betty Stamps. Aren't they just adorable. So below is what I ended up with for the challenge.....Enjoy!!!!!

It all started with a box that actually ended up made into a bag. I was going to use the side of the bag for my poster board. So as I'm making this box into a bag, I was searching for some sort of theme for this vampire movie. And low and behold I came across my bed stamp from Starving Artist--Doodle Factory. I knew exactly what I wanted my poster to be. "IN-Da-Bedroom"....lol....anyways to make a long story short, I thought this would be such a cool thing to do for DH. You know what I mean....So I made a lighted poster board/invite (on back--not finished...sorry) and a little bag to add goodies for him....it turned out cutesy (buy hey not all vampire movies have to be bloody...right)..I ran across a movie that is called Date Night on the net while searching for ideas--And I really wanted Vampire's in the name some how, so I thought why not make these guys Trixie and Louie Vampire (which these are their digi stamp's name in the store)..make it funny/quirky and weird---like---Married with Children-- sitcom..... and I thought with the black stripes it would show Burton's style. This could possibly be a total new direction Burton could think of going...lol...so what do you think? Think DH will like this?

Here's the poster board. It was actually simple with the exception of those darn lights ( I used 3-d pop dots with the exception of the center one...those were the smaller ones and they just didn't want to hold it). That center one, man...it just doesn't want to stay up. I got the lights from Wal-Mart in the wedding isle. Just little ones you can string on ribbon.They can be twisted to turn them on or off...and even using the 3-d pop dots the lights can actually be removed.... I added some Tim Holtz film for them to stand on and to give it some more dimension. The finished size of the poster board ended up being 8 1/4" X 5 3/4" . I know, it's an odd ball size...no rhyme or reason... this is with the lights on. They do a pretty good job only using 3 little ones. And here's my shopping bag. I made them the same with exception to the curtains and lights. The measurements are 9"H X 5" length X 2 1/2" wide....so it turned out to be a nice sized bag...I also used Tim Holtz filmstrip for the handles. this is just a side view..... I'm also entering this sweet little bag into the challenge over at Paper Cubed--June --some type of treat container....well who says treats have to come out of the grocery store....lol.....they could come from Fredericks....or Macy's....or Victoria Secret's...or even that darn ol 24 hr place down the road....lol....you know the one I'm talking about......just kidding...anyway here's what I made......I really like this challenge blog that I happened upon....I can't wait to play some more with their challenges...... Live the Life You've Imagined

Happy Hump Day Blogland...It's going to be very hot today in Charm City. Did you all see the creations from the Dolls yesterday from the challenge this week? If you haven't it's a must see..so hop on over to The Burtonesque Doll's challenge blog as soon as you're finished here. You truly won't be disappointed. They have some extremely amazing and stunning creations this week. I would like to say I'm sorry for being missing in action lately. We have been going through a huge family crisis and I do believe we have finally gotten it resolved. More on this at a later time, but for now I would love to share with you a Maggie (ok well Edwin) card I made yesterday while my internet was wonky. I couldn't get on for the life of me. And when I was able to it would only let me click a few things and then back off it went. I think it took me about 3 hours to post my challenge card yesterday morning. Anywhoo, here he is. I'm thinking this might either go to hubby (as he sooo wants to move to a beach somewhere) or my Father-in-Law (which he lives at the beach now)....Enjoy!!!! this is just a view from the top......

here's the front view....there is so much going on with this...but I have to say I really love how this card turned out. Don't you just love it when a plan turns out the way you had envisioned? All coloring was done with re-inkers, I also added stickles, Tim Holtz film strip-snaps-metal flower-ball hitch--and the stamp on the shrink plastic...Edwin is from Magnolia and the background and posts are from Starving Artist....

New Magnolia Cards St Pattys Day Party and some News

Happy Monday....I hope you don't mind but this will probably end up being a long post. I wanted to share some photos of our trip to the beach to party with friends for St. Patty's Day, some new cards that I made last week and some awesom news. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours here was just a beauty. The sun was shining and it was warm. We started the clean up of our patio of tearing down our bamboo canopy that the storms had totally demolished. Not to mention all of the other things it ruined in the process. DH has decided to build a pergela (SP?). He wants it to be sturdy. No more canopys. But I have some reservations. He's not a builder. I remember when we had a dog shortly after we purchased our home, he tried to build a doghouse for her. She tore it down as fast as he could build it...lol...I still chuckle at the thought of that....so this will be something I will document to add to our family album...hopefully everything will end up the way he invisions. Wish him luck.... The photos below are some of the St Patty's Day party we went to down at the beach. This is something that we do every year. We totally dress up and look like dorks, but hey, it's all in the fun...right!!! This years theme was light ups. I know you can't see them in the photos but we did glow like a tree....lol....we had so many people come up to us wanting us to have a photo taken with them. It was such a blast, a time that we get to spend together and just let loose... I have to say that this is my fav. photo of DH. Look at his hat. All of those shot glasses.....they go all the way around the hat.....and he actually had someone pour beer into them...lol...they use to come out but I had hot glued them so that he wouldn't lose them. and here the both of us are...I told you we looked like dorks....lol...but we had fun not to mention alot of WOOWOO'S...alot of them....my drink holder is actually one of the tall plastic drink thingies with a lid, I just decorated it with a green boa, added the hat at the top and just added some other decorations around it with a couple of lighted buttons...it holds one woowoo perfectly minus most of the ice that they add to the cup.... these guys were so funny...you could tell they were having a blast as everyone was...but look at the next photo with his green shoes...plastic...lol...now if he wasn't a man comfortable in his skin...lol....I soo loved these.... well that's the photos of the party at the beach...here's some cards that I made last week....all images were colored in with Distress ink refills......Enjoy!!!!!!

here's a card I'm going to send DH in the mail. I used the jungle scene, tilda with lace skirt and stuffed couch from Magnolia that I purchased from the Magnolia-licious Store . I'm having alot of fun playing with these stamps. The plants and wall are from Starving Artists. I absolutely loved this set I got from them as you can see more of the set on the inside of the card. It's called Doodlefactory Boudoir and Classic Decor . These work perfectly with the Maggie stamps to.

here's the inside. I took the Tilda with lace skirt head,took another Tilda stamp and cut the hands off , oh crap, I can't remember which Tild she was, to make her look like she was peeking from under the covers. I printed the saying from my computer.....so what do you think? Think he'll like it...lol....I don't know about you, but the longer you're married, the harder it gets to find new ways of, well, keeping things hot...under the covers......lol...

here's a card I made using the Violin Tilda that I received from Diana at the store for making a purchase. Thank you so much Diana.... I really loved this stamp. I also used the Houses on street stamp from Magnolia. I made this card into a matchbook card.

Here's my last card to share using Farmer Tilda that I received from a very dear friend Sharon. Thanks girl...she's just darling....I also used the stuffed chair from Magnolia and the rest of the stamps are from Starving Artists. On the curtains I actually made the bar longer by cutting it off and adding a longer piece of cardstock and glued the curtains back on. I wanted to use this stamp, Doodlefactory neighborhood to make it look like you were looking through the window from inside and could see the neighbors houses across the street. I left the saying/greeting blank. I don't know what I'm going to use this card for yet.....

The Pink Elephant Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone. I have to make this a quickie. DH is on my behind about gettin outside and "takin care of business"...I didn't think I was going to make this weeks challenge over at The Pink Elephant, but I just squeezed this one in. The challenge was to use 2 brads, a flower and pattern paper. This is what I came up with. I have to say though, I just love- love- love these stamps from Starving Artist. I know they are last years designs, but they are kind of new to me. I just picked them up at the convention in Ocean City this summer and have adored them ever since. If you get a chance, hop on over there and check out what they have. They are just the cutest little stamps you've seen. They also have a very inspiring design team. The inspiration came from Michelle Zindorf. I'm so trying to make stamped cards and new techniques and I find her very inspiring. She is one lady who totally ROCKS. Take some time and visit her blog to. You won't be disappointed. The flower is 2 circles and I just cut slits and grunged up. I also added a third circle to the center and added my 3 brads. I couldn't find any pattern paper that I liked, so I took this yellowish/orangish pattern paper from Cosmo Cricket and added brushed corduroy distress ink to it to mute the color some. That is what I made the flower from to. This is the inside view. I'm thinking I'll send this one off to Aunt Rene (who is 92yrs old) this year for her Halloween card. Happy Saturday Everyone

How's it going? Been real crazy here once again with the new baby, my birthday, our anniversary and the holiday all thrown in there these past couple of weeks. I have been alittle busy though making some new cards that I wanted to share today with all of you. There's alot of them. I've taken so many photos but just couldn't get any decent photos...sorry to bombard you with so many on this post....and the photos still aren't very good. You can click on them and see a bigger version if you would like.

First I would love for you to take a gander over to Motivet Inspiration blog . They have just the cutest stamps that I found bloggin this past week. They are offering some blog candy right now to. I just received my order from them yesterday and couldn't wait to ink up the cute little stamps. Here's how I used them. I did case the colors from their blog though....
