The Day After gift set

Happy Happy New Year's Eve blogland. How the heck has everyone's holiday been going? Here on the home front, I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. Finally!!! I have a set I made for Christmas and wanted to share. Have you ever wondered where Santa goes after his long season? Well this is where I believe he goes. To the south pole, kicking back on the beach and watching some good 'ol football....ENJOY!!!!

Here's the set with the lights on...
I decided the sandcastle really needs a colored light to match the other ones. So I will be adding one of those ...this is a late Christmas gift...
**********
This set comes from different kits from SVG CUTS .... can I say, O EM GGGGG...I am in heaven. I love love this place. These kits take all of the guessing and measuring out of creating a new creation. A huge time saver. And I can't wait to get to play with more.
********
3D Sandcastle--Wet and Wild kit
Shadowbox Frame--Santa's Helpful Elves kit
Palm Tree--Toil & Trouble kit (apothecary jar tall)

the little white doohickey on the palm tree is what the light looks like that changes colors...I put one at the bottom of the south pole sign to up light it and one on the frame just above santa sitting on the beach. The sandcastle has a string of lights that I inserted into the box of it. The lid is the perfect size to house the battery box. Picture is posted below of opened lid with battery...

And this is what Santa does the day after...lol...here I stuck a t.v. set on a barbar pole, added some foil for rabbit ears...ha ha!! Hey, he's on an island...

Pop up Birthday Card Fiesta Style

Happy Tuesday blogland....I have been buy working on Halloween and now I'm going into Christmas mode....but I did make this card and I wanted to share...... Even if the voices aren't real...lol...pop up birthday card for my Mother's birthday some weeks back. I told ya I was coming back to play...I have missed my creative side playing with paper it's not even funny...

The inspiration for this card came from my mother and aunts going to lunch to get some margaritas....and margaritas they got....lol.

I would like to enter this into PaperTake Weekly Challenge--Anything Goes.....ENJOY!!!!!

this is the front of the card....I dug out my Inky Antics stamp sets (worldly women #1 and #2) along with See D's Mexican Fiesta set. Inkadinkadoo for the greetings...paper from Fancy Pants Celebrate line...colored everything in with distress inks....

this is the inside...the women pop up along with the pieces in front of them....I can soo see my mother and aunts hootin and hollering it up...lol...

side view of the pop up...this is where I slid the money card...so it's all one....to make the pop up, I just cut slits into the paper to create it...practice on printer paper first...I learned the hard way...Ha Ha!!!

this is the back view...all I need to do is sign and date it....She loved it. And so did my aunts...

*********
The pic above is the little house scene with a treater walking up to a house for candy and says those 3 magical words...trick or treat...and he actually got a trick instead of a treat...

Haunted Rubiks Cube Candy Box

Good morning blog land...today I have a quick post for the challenge over at Scor Pal. I came across a picture on the net and thought to myself, wow, how cool would that be to put Halloween candy in...so I set out to make it and this is what I came up with..... Enjoy!!!
Here is the front view...there's 3 drawers that pull out for candy...
Side view...
Here's my inspiration...I used my scor pal to create the 3 drawers and glued them together...I was going to make them so they swiveled but decided since this was paper and chipboard to just glue them together....

I used Happy Hauntings for the die cuts from my Cricut and MS border punches...

Back view

Side view

The loot...lol...

Top view....I decided to keep it simple...and if you know me this is really hard...but I really wanted the Rubik's Cube to shine instead of stuff...so to speak....
************
Deets
3 pcs 10x10 black stock for frames
3 pcs 9 3/4x 93/4 for drawers...
Score at 2 and 8 on all sheets....
Fold the smaller sheets into a drawer
The bigger into a box but folding in the ends for the drawers to slide in...I keep this extra stock to help build layers instead of just making a sleeve that fits over the drawer...did that make sense? ...I also added chipboard to all sides and bottoms...this really feels like an over sized Rubiks cube...   *************
So this is all I have for now...I hope you all have a sunny day....hugs from a sunny Charm City....

I loved playing with this...but at this point I'm just happy to play with anything...lol...I love halloween and I lOVE to make things for it...and this is what I came up with for our candy dish for the table....it's a milk carton made out of cardstock...I used my big E to cut out the carton....and just decorated it with rubber stamps--border punches and jewels..I used distress inks to color everything in and then did a light layer of vintage photo over top to age them...I also added the paper drinking straw to kind of mimic drinking milk ...like when we were kids...lol....I kept this simple but do like how it turned out...what do you think?

Well I hope you've enjoyed my little project...I had a lot of fun with this challenge...get a chance, stop over at SSS challenge and gander through all of their goodness the team has put together...it's to die for!!!!
