Good Saturday morning to you...I hope I find you all in great spirits even with what is going on...the world is in a very unhappy place right now...so today I'd like to try and give you a little bit of happiness with this new birthday set I made...the card is one I had made sometime ago but don't believe I ever shared it...and the cupcake box is new and is from Simply Crafty Svg ....take a gander over to the store and see what fabulous designs has been coming out...they are pretty cool...the cupcake box has 2 different design lids to it....it's like a 2fer...love those....

I did use some modeling paste and stencil to add texture to the background...then sprayed with some misting spray...used a paint brush also to flick some of the spray...I used an acrylic frame to frame in Tilda....Cupcake box was made using the sprays and some layered flowers...simple...but I love simple, sometimes...haha....Enjoy!!!!

Tiddly Inks Crackle or Diamond Glaze Challenge

This week is my last week as a Guest Designer for Tiddly Inks. I would like to say thank you to Christy and the team. You all are so amazing and extremely talented. Thank you for letting me be a part of your awesome team. But don't think I'm gone....lol....I just love the challenges and those darling images I can't stay away.....*smile*......
**********************************
This week at Tiddly Inks, the challenge is to use Diamond glaze/Crackle accent... create a card/project using diamond glaze or crackle paint as part of your technique....but it must have a Tiddly Inks image....hop over and make sure you check out the new ones in the store to.....they just keep getting better and better.......ENJOY!!!!!!!

For the card above, I used the Sleep Tight image....I have been wanting to use this image for sometime now, but just couldn't ......I colored in the image with distress inks, and totally covered over image with Diamond Glaze...I like how when you run your fingers across the image the glaze gives it texture....I also used Distress Crackle Paint -- white --- and covered a blue piece of cardstock...I watered it down abit, to make kind of like a wash, but not to thin to loose the crackle finish in the paint...did that make sense? used some Prima's, pearls, ribbon, MS branch punch and some wooden alpha scrabble tiles (EK Success)....

here's just a closer view of the crackle on top of the blue cardstock....I really wanted to soften it but that you could still see the blue behind the crackle finish...

*****************************

Well I hope that you will join us this week at Tiddly Inks....we look forward to your projects....and make sure you stop in and see what the rest of the team created...you will sure love them......Hugs from a very wet Charm City.......

HDH053 - Pink on the Brink

How's it going blog land? It looks like it's going to be a beautiful kind of day here....The sun is shining and it's even cool outside...I hope your day is as pretty as ours is here.....I have a card I'd like to share that I made for Haunted Design House's Pink challenge this week. This was alot of fun to make....I got out my UTTEE to play with and made the cracked glass effect on the stamped circle....if I remember, there's 6 layers of uttee and then I popped it into the refrigerator. But you know what I hate, is that every time I play with this and use an image with a face, no matter how hard I try not to crack the face, walla--it cracks.....ARGH!!!! ........ENJOY!!!!!!!!
here I used the Tim Holtz technique using distress ink pad (worn lipstick) and water for the pink.....I cut up a Manila folder to make my card....I also used distress black soot crackle paint for the black, added some Vaseline to remove some of it in spots to show the branches I stamped underneath.....but stupid me, you know I'm a dork right, well I dried the paint using my heat gun before I removed the paint from those sections and it ended up a mess. You really can't see the branches to much....oh well, I still kind of like how it turned out....I also used some Holtz filmstrip, removed some windows and hung some chandelier glass from it at the bottom....
closer view of the cracked glass effect........I made a second stamp of the little girl (paper artsy--ancestors--plate #2) and cut the wings out and popped them up (on top of the uttee) like they are crashing through the glass.....
here's the top of the tag with more filmstrip and glass that I used to thread the button with....well that's it for today....I hope everyone has an awesome and sunny kind of day today.......hugs from Charm City........

I also would like to share a couple cards that I had made a while back but just haven't been able to get them up here on my blog. They are just a couple of quick cards....Enjoy!!!!! This one I made using the Tim Holtz bird cage die and distress crackle paint....
I used a stamp from Inkadinkado set for the sundae and added some distress ink and stickles to color it in...........Well I hope everyone has a wonderful day filled with alot of great food and company. Remember to stay safe today!!!!! Hugs from a very muggy Charm City

What a Beautiful Day

It is such a beautiful fall day here in Charm City. I have my windows open and am feeling the fall breeze rolling through our home. I just love this time of year. My feet, fingers, hell my whole body doesn't swell up...lol...anyone else feel like this? This is the time of year that I can actually go shopping for clothes and get the size that I really need and not have to worry about what size I need if it's so hot outside and my body swells. I just LOVE FALL!!!! Not to mention all of the beautiful colors that fall brings. With Halloween just around the corner, then Thanksgiving and then Christmas it means that this year is almost over. Can you believe that. Where has this year gone already. We only have a few weeks left before Christmas and I haven't even started my shopping, not to mention cards. Well, I just made one card but that's it for now that I posted below. I have been missing in action for a little while. I have to say, I have been on this audio book kick right now. I took our little one to the library a few weeks back and have fallen in love all over again with it. Normally, I don't go to the library. Our little one normally goes with her older sister or a friend. But on this day I took her. While I was there, I signed up for my own library card (at which I haven't had one in like forever). But then I decided to go and take a gander at the audio books since I'm in my truck quite abit. The first book I took off the shelf I just had to have. It's called Lethal Legacy by Linda Fairstein. It's the last one in the series of about 10 books. It was awesom. Take a gander over to her site. She does a video about this book and see if you like it. What I like about her series is that she brings history about New York City into her books. So you're getting a history lesson as well. Here's her addy Linda Fairstein Legal Legacy . I have since taken out all of the rest of the series except for the first 3 books. The library doesn't have these. So I need to find these so I can complete her series. If you have any audio books that you are fond of I'd love to hear about them. I'll be on the look out for some more soon. Now onto my crafting...the layout posted below is one I did one morning. It's a modpodge of products that have no rime or reason. I also posted a couple of cards and even a book. You can click on the photos for a better view...
I made the above card using the new Winter Wonderland Cricut cart. I left the greeting blank for now. Sorry for the coloring to. I just couldn't get this right this morning.
I made this card a few months back but never posted it here. I had made a card box that used this same card design but this is just a little different from those.
here is the book I made back in 2005 for CK's contest to be on their team. Heck, I don't even remember what it's called anymore or if they still have the contest. I don't think I have publicly shared this book and thought I would here on my blog. I have to say I am very fond of this book. It was the last time I made a trip back home to Michigan and I am feeling the itch to go. It's so me. Just what ever I thought the photos were saying to me at the time is how I decorated the pages. Each one is numbered and at the end of the book I have tags for each page that has my journaling to corirspond to each.
Thanks for hangin out with me this morning. I hope everyone has a lovely day. Hugs from a very beautiful Charm City.....

The Pink Elephant Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday. Since my last post, we have been very busy here. We had our DD's birthday party, our middle daughter came home for a visit. And our little one started school. So it's been very busy and hectic here in our home these past few weeks. Not to mention, DH has been laid off for 3 weeks now. So, with him home, I really don't get to play much. But today I took my morning and made a couple of cards for the sketch challenge over at The Pink Elephant. I had alot of fun playing with this. If you get a chance pop on over and check out their challenges they do every week. They are alot of fun. here's the sketch
I made this one using the sketch above. I needed a card for our little one to send her Grandmother. They went shopping, had lunch and even went and did their nails together. They both had a great time but I know Grandmom was abit worn out after her day. The inside is blank so our little one can hand write a note of thanks to her.
just a close-up of the Distress Crackle paint I used on the chipboard.
Here's the second card I made for the sketch. I was in a grunge Halloween mood..lol...I just love Halloween. I colored in this digi stamp (from Scrapping Doodles) with Copics and then did a layer of Vintage Photo Distress ink over top og the entire card.
Here's a card I made using my Pazzles Machine. It was one of the free clipart that comes with the program and I just welded a second piece to make a cutout card. I took my Big E off my table and put my Pazzles in it's place. I am determined to get to know this machine inside and out now.
The inside just says Happy Halloween.
Well thanks for stopping in. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Hugs from Charm City

TPE Color Challenge--Happy Birthday

Good Morning---I can't believe that I already made this one for The Pink Elephant challenge. I needed a really fast card this morning and thought of their challenge that was just posted. We were to use brown, turquoise and neutral colors. I've had this paper from Cloud 9 Designs that fit perfectly. Although the photos don't do this card justice, it looks so much better irl... (You can click on the photos for a better view)
I used the birthday Cuttlebug embossing plate and sandpapered the embossed part. I really need to use that machine more to. I also used the skull from Tim Holtz' grungeboard and added Distress Crackle paint to that. The starburst brad is one of my favorites right now from Karen Foster. They are just soo fun and adds some great texture. I also pierced holes around the card and circles and roughed up the edges for a distressed look.
the inside view
just alittle closer view of the crackle skull. I just love this stuff and always love the chance to use it on something....lol...(even my bathroom walls--the real stuff though)....
Well have a great day and stop on over at The Pink Elephant and play along with the challenge this week. They have the best challenges and the Design Team totally ROCKS!!!! Thanks again ladies for another great challenge!!!! Hugs from Charm City

Sweet Miracle

Happy Monday everyone...Here's a quick one that I made just letting go, sort of speaking. I started out with the photo and actually had blue pattern paper for the background, but I ended up using white paint and distress crackle paint. It so doesn't match the photo, but I really do like the outcome. The flower/swirls are actually black rubons that I painted over with a white wash and then added stickle glitter to them to change the appearence. The sweet letters are Making Memories felt letters--black-- that I white washed and added silver glitter glue over top of those too...I like how the black is still there but really muted..
you can click on the image to see more details if you would like to...
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and didn't eat to much candy....

GO STEELERS!!!!!!! Super Bowl here we come

lol...I just had to throw that in there...I am soo happy that they beat the Ravens in yesterday's game. Although I live here in Maryland, I still love my all time favoriet STEELERS!!! So wish them luck. Even if you're not a Steelers fan, come on show them a little "love"...my husband has lately. But I think that's only because his Cowboys didn't make it and he truly does not like the Ravens...lol...
Other than that, how's everyone been doing lately? Me, just abit busy here and trying to work on some cards and such lately. I finally was able to get some photos taken of them and thought I'd share them with you all.
These projects I made using my Pazzles machine. I've had this machine for awhile now and have put it on the back burner. I thought it was so complicated and just didn't have the time to figure it out with the holidays and my computer crashing on me. So with alittle inspiration from Jody (over at Hallmark Scrapbook) I got it out and have been playing. It's a great machine and can do so much more than the Cricut can. Although I love love love my big E, this machine might become one of my new favorites once I get to know all of the functions. Regina has made so many tutorials over at Hallmark Ladybug Blog....stop on over and check out all that she has shared with us. And while you're at it check out the rest of the Ladybugs tutorials...they have some awesom ones that they have all shared...and from there check out the store at Hallmark Scrapbook .....they are running a sale, and if you see at the top of the page, there no payment for 90 days. But you need to check into that too. So if you're interested in purchasing the Pazzles machine, this would be a great time to do it. With income tax money coming back soon and all...and it's easier than I thought
So here's what I made using the Pazzles machine and the paper piecing animals, paper piecing children and the bags and boxes cd's.
above used the paper piecing animals cd
above were made using the clipart that came with the Pazzles software. (Mouth and photo corners)
(above) this was the paper piecing children cd and the bags and boxes. It's an envie made into a box. All of the different ones that come on the cd are awesom. I can't wait to get to play even more with them. I have another project finished, but you'll have to wait til this week. Sorry..
Here's a little set above I made for the challenge on the Hallmark Scrapbook message board. We were asked to use a kitty or a doggie cut from any of the Cricut carts. Come and have some fun and play along with us. We would love to see you there.
Almost all of the papers used on the above projects I purchased them from Ustamp4Fun. They are the Stampin Up's Love kit. And let me tell you, the papers are to die for. Have you ever had so much inspiration from a set of papers before? I just couldn't stop. These papers were just talking to me....lol....not to mention, stamps and punches. I have never purchased a kit before, so this was my first. And I used my little Tim Holtz paper distresser for all of the edges of the projects. Love love that little tool...
here's a little card playing around with a digi kit that I downloaded from the internet. I am so sorry that I can't remember who's kit it is, so I can give proper credit....sorry.... I also used mica to cover the vintage image alittle.
and last but not least, here's a little card playing around with the Wild Card Cricut cart. It's such a fun one and I can't wait to play alittle more. I did a backwards stitch with some silky ribbon to outline the heart, embossed the inner heart and the card with the Cuttlebug embossing plates, crackle paint and grungeboard (number 4) and added pop dots to the backside of the inner heart to give it some heigth...
Well that's it for this posting. If you've made it this far, thanks so much for hangin out with me.... I hope that everyone has a great week ahead and remember to SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE STEELERS!!!!! YAH!!!! GO STEELERS!!!! lol...
Hugs from a very chilly Charm City
