HDH094 Menacing Mermaids Challenge

Happy Tuesday all...today is a short post, but I wanted to share an envelope I made for Macabre Mondays at HDH...so this was my take on this very cool challenge (love love love mermaids).....ENJOY!!!!

(click on photos for bigger view)

I took an 11"X14" manila envelope, folded it where I needed the crease to be, and started layering rubber stamps to make a scene.,..I really don't care for the "to box", the black squiggle's is suppose to be a black cat...but since I've had way to much coffee this morning, I kind of smudged it abit....ok way bits...lol.....I used my very dusty stipple brushes along with Rangers nibs and cosmetic applicators to color everything in....
Rubber stamps used are:
Smeared Ink--Mermaid
StampScapes--brookside boulders, crooked limb, tiki huts
Rubber Stampede--fern leaf
Inkadinkado--web, crows and black cat
Studio G--bat
Alexa Stamping--grass (bottom)
See D's--quote boxes
here's the back side where the "from" will be.... *********
Well peeps, I'm suppose to be painting today and instead I'm in here....shhh, don't tell hubby...I just have to do double time now....lol...only so many hours in a day......Thanks Minions for such a fun challenge....if ya get a chance, stop on over and play along this week....we all have a mermaid in our stash somewhere....Hugs from a cloudy Charm City.....

Tiddly Inks Christmas Time Challenge

Well Hellooooo...this is my third post for today ( I know-can you believe it)...I have been dying to get a challenge done in over at Tiddly Inks, but sometimes life doesn't allow for the things we want....but I did however get this one in...and I truly love how it turned out (for the most anyways...lol..)....ENJOY!!!!
You all know how much I "love" to add lighting to my cards/projects not to mention "windows"... Well it was time I made something for Christmas. I really love how this little penquin (this is just one in a set of 4 to this image) is inside looking out at Frosty. I used Krylon Frosted Glass finish and sprayed on top of the transparency that I used to make the window....it gives it that semi see through look...lol....greeting from Making Memories, lights (EK Success)and tinsel from Michaels...bamboo skewers from grocery store...gotta love cheap finds like these...
side view of what's going on inside....lol...
here's the inside scene with the Bah Huggabug's and Christmas Joy. Images are from Tiddly Inks....Christy has such a way with her images that I just love....the fireplace, rug, backboard and outlets are from Starving Artist....Paper is from Cosmo Cricket...you can see the light at the top here...I just cut an X in the crease and slipped in a light that is from Martha Stewert. I love this cuz it is easy to turn on and off the light and even replace it if necessary.... here's the outside front with it lighted ...truly love how the frosted glass finish gives it such a soft glow.....
just a side view lighted....
look at Christmas Joy in there....she could bring joy to anyone's holiday....
****************
Well that is all and I mean all...lol....I have for today...I am off and running agian today to try and finish what we started yesterday......I truly hope everyone has a lovely day and thanks again for stopping in......Hugs from Charm city...

You are not required to use Bonibleaux Designs images although it would make us really really happy if you did!
MUST be a masculine themed card, you can use humor, innuendo, be a little naughty, sarcastic, but it has got to be for a DUDE!
Be sure to use InLinkz at Dude Time Doodles to submit your creation. The Top Three winners and Top Blog winner will be announced at Dude Time Doodles on the 19th. Our sponsor, Daisy Doodles, is giving three digis of your choice from her store for the Top Blog winner and each winner will receive a badge. ENJOY!!!!!!!
here's the sketch above.... and here's what I came up with.....I know--I'm weird...lol... I know one of the rules is, it has to be for a guy...well I got lost a little...so why not a card from a dude, but not to another dude.....lol...when I seen this image, (Cowboy Round Up set)...I thought he would make for a great Santa...lol...the background scene images are from Stamp Scapes...paper from Making Memories...I used Tim Holtz film strip and cut the center out for the greeting....and hung one of those snowflakes that I got a Michaels in a package of 10....gotta love little packs like that...I strung lights (EK Success) from his hat .... here's just a side view.....you can see that I popped out the top part.... ***************** Well that's all I have for this post..stop over and see what the rest of the team has created..... and make sure you stop back in later I will have another post.....Thanks for stopping in...Hugs from Charm City...

Macabre Monday--Freekers Free for All--Late

Happy new week blog-land....once again, where did last week go....I tell ya, ever since I got older, it seems like time just flies by.....anywho, onto my card I made for the Macabre Monday challenge. This was the first time that I was able to make a card for this awesome challenge blog at which I'm late for...... I just found them not to long ago (thanks Creepy)...and have been mesmerized ever since.....so pop over and check out the creations on this blog....and look at the DT's work...it will just blow you away........Enjoy!!!!!
I just love these darling vampire images from Simply Betty Stamps. But instead of printing and cutting them out like I normally do, I opted to combine these two images (using microsoft word) with a background image (bonnie background) from Digital Delights. I really don't care for the end result though....I liked it up until my sky in the background got to dark with me over working the distress inks....but oh well...and I thought these images were great together as a "we moved" card.....I guess I'll just have to try it again sometime.....
here is a closer view of the flower tag with my skull beads...I soo love these little guys...lol.................
...........................................................................
Well I hope you get a chance to stop over and check out the challenges (I know I will be)...but make sure you stop at Simply Betty Stamps and Digital Delights also to see what they offer.......have a great Monday...Hugs from Charm City

A Maggie Set and other's

Happy snowy Sunday peeps. And let me tell you, it's a snowy one here in Charm City. I understand that we ended up with 24" of snow from Friday and Saturdays' snow fall. Ouch!!! That was huge. And I think it's the biggest in history if I'm not mistaken. You should see it. It took all day yesterday to shovel the drive and walks in front of the house (and we still didn't get the main walk finished). And at the end of the drive it's like a brick wall of snow. Haven't even made it that far yet. We were hoping the plow trucks would come through before we would have to get out there and shovel it. Ok Debbie and Betty, thank you so much for your wonderful pretty stuff, but you REALLY could have kept it this time....lol...as much as I love snow (and I really do) this was just abit to much. Even for someone like myself. I don't have photos yet, but I plan on taking some later today. So onto something more fun..... I opted out of making anything for challenges this week and decided that I just wanted to play some to see what I could come up with. The cards/set posted below is what I made. Enjoy!!!!
here's a birthday set....made the box from scratch.....it really didn't turn out like I had envisioned either. here's the birthday card using the Tilda with the candle stamp...I cut the candle off and added the balloons...I also used distress refillable inks to color her in and did a light layer of vintage photo over the top with a sponge tool to give her the aged look...
this is the top of the box...so much going on.... more than I wanted...
box with the drawer open....
other side...I used a set of stamps from Autumn Leaves...and dyed the flower using distress ink Broken China...the flower is from the craft store that actually was pink in color...
here's is what I made to pull the drawer open. It's a handmade flowerette...I used the 6 petal flower from Paper reflections added my paper front and back side to match and cut and glued into a flower. The instructions for this is on Tim Holtz's blog under his 12 tags of Christmas from this year. I opted out of adding the center part and added some ribbon instead. The center is abit tricky but is manageable. ...lol...I made one on the card below with the Sugar Nellie card. It took alittl while to figure it out but this old gal did it...lol....
here's one I made using, yep, you guessed it, one of the few Maggie stamps I have...lol...different day, different color and setting....lol....I really am in love with scene cards, so I thought I'd dig out my StampScapes stamps and play some with her. I used all distress ink refills again except on the bench. I used Prisma pencils for that...
Deets for these stamps:
tree trunk, pebbles and tall grass---Stampscapes
trailer--Inkadinkado
pine trees--A stamp in the hand
bench--unknown
quote--Tim Holtz
and of course my Maggie stamp....
everything was stamped onto watercolor paper....
last but not least--here's a card with a Sugar Nellie stamp. I used the Tim Holtz flower tutorial (as posted above) and used the Marvy flower punch to make the rose, See d's for greeting, Sizzix for the leaves and parchement dies...and Nesabilities for the frame.... She really didn't turn out and I'm not sure that I really care for this card. I think the color red on the stamp is what is throwing me off. I just couldn't get a color to match the paper like I had wanted to...she's a little to red...lol...and I think the leaves are abit to big for that stamp too....oh well,--- she'll go in the box and sit....
Well that's it for today...I think we are going to try and clean up our broken canopy on the patio outback. With the weight of the snow it totally collasped it. BROKEN...I couldn't believe my eyes when I seen that...my heart sank...what does one do in a case like this but clean up and move on. That just gives us a justified reason to buy a new one this year... :O) ....well have a great day, hope you're all safe and warm....hugs from Charm City....

Happy Sunday Evening

How was everyone's weekend....mine was extra special...Friday was our anniversary and yesterday was my birthday....we took off for the beach yesterday to spend the day relaxing and partying...and had a wonderful time...Tricia, Scott and myself...not to mention, I finally was able to stop at all of those little shops that I've wanted to for years now...I guess it pays to be the birthday girl...lol.... Here's some projects that are older, but I thought that I would post them here on my blog since I hadn't posted in so long over this year....hope you enjoy them and can get some sort of inspiration.... look at the motion in this photo. I loved it when I downloaded it from my camera and it looked just like this... I used a negative from a cut on my cricut and light moldeling past to give this card some dimention. Have a happy week ahead... Hugs from a very sweet Charm City
