All About Betty Blog Hop

ALL ABOUT BETTY BLOG HOP The gals from The Burtonesque Dolls, Simply Betty Stamps and Simply Betty Challenges blogs figured it was a good time to put together a blog hop of our very own: SIMPLY BETTY. This hop is ALLLLLLLLLLLLL about Betty and since October is Betty's favorite month and there are sooooo many exciting things happening, why not do it just before?!! This way we can get things warmed up for the whole October and Halloween theme. Kinda like an appie!! And since Halloween is her favorite time of year you will be seeing mostly, if not all Halloween cards and we have used only Betty Emo's images. Dear Miss Betty Boo---Thank you for supporting me in my endevours...You have inspired me, encouraged me and you are one of my cheerleaders that keeps cheering me on........thank you for being you....you are AWESOME!!!! Not to mention your images....they RAWK girlfriend!!!! Just like you!!! Now give me my presents....lol....just kidding...enjoy your hop girlie....
For my card I used the Emo Halloweenie Lola Mummy....isn't she just darling? Almost as darling as our Betty is to all of us....I paired her up with My Pets B B and the pumpkin from London Pumpkin....the background is from Make it Crafty and for the life of me, I can't remember where I picked up this cuteness of a car....please for give me....I know this turned out way darker than I had expected, but I kind of like it....The photo is bowed out like I do my greetings....but this one I kept the greeting flat.....colored all images with distress inks and added stickles....

here's just a closer view of the photo.....oh, I also printed out Lola, cut her out and pop dotted her onto of the one printed off into the scene....you can kind of see what I'm talking about.... Without further ado, let's check out some more inspiring and creative cards from all the ladies. Please note because this is an appreciation blog hop there are no prizes. It's just for fun but the ladies wouldn't mind some luving from you anyway!! Your next stop is the lovely Catherine's blog!!! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your stop....Have a wonderful Wednesday......Hugs from Charm City....

Paper Take Weekly Sketch # 48 Challenge

Welcome to this weeks sketch challenge from PTW. It's such a fun sketch..You really could go in many directions, but for me, I really wanted to keep it simple....this week we are being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp...hop over there and check out their stamps and all of the fun products sold in the store......ENJOY!!!!!
here's the sketch we got to play with this week. Here I used this darling image from Meljen Designs. I don't think it was meant to be a Halloween image, but you all know me, I love to think outside of the box. And I turned this darling image into a trick or treat card.......this image made me think of the little bear either tricking the frog with the spider on the limb and not letting him have it or he's going to be nice and give it to him as a treat........I also used the spider web digi from Tiddly Inks as a background.....I used the Echo Park papers, distress inks and stickles....printed off the greeting trick/treat on my computer and added acrylic letters (or).....
******************************
Well make sure you stop over at PTW and check out what the rest of the lovely design team members have created for this challenge....then stop over at Simon Says Stamp to buy some new goodies to play along with the challenge.....I hope you have a lovely day and I want to thank you for stopping by today......hugs from a soaking Charm City...

Tiddly Inks Crackle or Diamond Glaze Challenge

This week is my last week as a Guest Designer for Tiddly Inks. I would like to say thank you to Christy and the team. You all are so amazing and extremely talented. Thank you for letting me be a part of your awesome team. But don't think I'm gone....lol....I just love the challenges and those darling images I can't stay away.....*smile*......
**********************************
This week at Tiddly Inks, the challenge is to use Diamond glaze/Crackle accent... create a card/project using diamond glaze or crackle paint as part of your technique....but it must have a Tiddly Inks image....hop over and make sure you check out the new ones in the store to.....they just keep getting better and better.......ENJOY!!!!!!!

For the card above, I used the Sleep Tight image....I have been wanting to use this image for sometime now, but just couldn't ......I colored in the image with distress inks, and totally covered over image with Diamond Glaze...I like how when you run your fingers across the image the glaze gives it texture....I also used Distress Crackle Paint -- white --- and covered a blue piece of cardstock...I watered it down abit, to make kind of like a wash, but not to thin to loose the crackle finish in the paint...did that make sense? used some Prima's, pearls, ribbon, MS branch punch and some wooden alpha scrabble tiles (EK Success)....

here's just a closer view of the crackle on top of the blue cardstock....I really wanted to soften it but that you could still see the blue behind the crackle finish...

*****************************

Well I hope that you will join us this week at Tiddly Inks....we look forward to your projects....and make sure you stop in and see what the rest of the team created...you will sure love them......Hugs from a very wet Charm City.......

Stamp it Crazy Challenge #7

It's Sunday so you know what that means...it's the crazy girls' challenge day......we used the lovely Diana from the digi section at Stamp it Crazy Store.....and we are having a free for all....anything goes.......ENJOY!!!!!!
Here I paired Diana up with a Starving Artist background houses image...I thought this would be a cool card to give DH....I love how sexy Diana looks in her gown, enticing good ol' hubby for a night on the town.......lol....wait til he opens it and really see's what it's for.....
*****************************
...I kept this card really simple and wanted the images to speak out....I used distress inks, stickles and a few rhinestones....you can't get any more simpler than that.....for me anyways....

and here's the inside....think he'll like this place better than a bar....lol.....I know my man would....you know how it is...just trying to keep that spark alive and come up with different ideas.......*smile*.....

************************************

Well that's all I have for today....we are actually at the beach today (gotta love scheduled posts') for the pig roast....it's family day and we look forward to this jaunt every year....I hope that you will stop by the Challenge blog and see what the rest of the Crazy ladies did for this challenge....and then come and play along...we would love to have you......hugs from the beach....

Paper Take Weekly Animal Magic

The challenge over at PTW is to use an animal on your card. Either in the paper or the image or the sentiment. We're being sponsored by the fabulous Wendy from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. Please stop by and check out the images she offers....they are too cute......ENJOY!!!!!
I used an image from Kenny K. Now isn't he or she just the cutest doggie ever....I use to have one and he was as cute -as devious-....lol.... this was actually a free image from his site, but it is no longer available....he does however have a new one up that expires the end of the month....
*****************************
I used distress inks, Prima flowers, MS crooked fence and branch punches, Inkadinkado--admit one and party glass clear stamps, StampScapes--pebbles and crooked limb, stickles and liquid glass (I added this to the top of the glass image to make it feel like glass), and a flip flop charm for the bottom of the glass....
this is the inside....now it's very rare that I finish a card inside and out, so I am very proud of myself....I was thinking I could give this to DH for a special kind of dinner...just the two of us....it's abit cold here for pool side, but we can do patio....I can also grill hot dogs...lol...I used a Prima swirly clear stamp along with Inkadinkado ticket stamp....

just a closer view of my sweet little doggie....sorry about the screw up on the coloring...to much coffee......Make sure you stop back at PTW and play along with us and check out what the rest of the girls did with this challenge.....Have a beautiful day!!!!! Hugs from a sunny Charm City....

Tiddly Inks Sketch Challenge

This weeks challenge over at Tiddly Inks was a sketch challenge. The photo is posted below....ENJOY!!!!!!!here's the sketch...look how fun this is.....
here's what I came up with using the sketch above....It's a Halloween goodie bag for that someone special that a handful of candy just won't cut it....I covered the handles with ribbon...not to sure if I like it so I might take that off and go with the all natural look instead....But I really do like how this turned out to....I used the new Spooky Birthday Witch from the store. Paper is Recollections, buttons from Doodle Bug Designs, MS border gooey punch and branch leaves, distress inks, stickles and for the life of me, I can't remember where I got the Happy Halloween Digi from....sorry about that!!!!
closer view....I some machine stitching here and there side view...it's a pretty tall bag, and then the handles are over sized to.. ************************** Well make sure to stop by later as I will have me Paper Take Weekly challenge up.....it's a cutie....lol.....until then, thanks so much for stopping in today and we hope to see you over at Tiddly Inks to see the rest of the designers and to play along.......Hugs from Charm City

TBD Challenge #19 Trick or Treating

WOOT WOOT!!! It's another week over at TBD...and that means a new challenge....it's Trick or Treating in Burton's Neighborhood....and to me, that means something funky....so here I used one of Simply Betty Stamps digi's My Pet's B B ....isn't she just darling....ENJOY!!!!! this is a wooden clipboard that I have had for about 2 years now, maybe even longer...it's been up on the shelf in a basket until about a month or so back....then it sat on my bench here waiting for some loving...lol..... I used Tim Holtz birdcage with grungeboard, covered it in black stickles, cut away a couple of the bars and rolled them to the top and added those darling Skullz....I used the iron fence MS border punch, the weird dots embossing folder, chipboard numbers and letter from Lil Davis Designs, chain I aged it in some concoction and splats and trick/treat are from Recollections. I colored everything in with Distress inks....
just a frontal view.... ohh there's my little skull bead at the top hanging down to....I just love those little fella's... a closer view of little Miss BB...doesn't she have such character...I just love that face she has....and there are those awesome skullz from Glo...you can purchase those in the store at Simply Betty Stamps to.
here's the back view...it came with this little dowel so you could stand it up.....does this photo look familiar? It was the sneak peek I posted the other day....this is the finished product from those photos.....I hope you've enjoyed this little project as much as I had making it.......
*****************
Well make sure you stop over and see what the rest of the Dolls have made for this challenge....We would love to see you join in this week to....Hugs from Charm City....

Stamp It Crazy--Let's Go Green

HDH056 - Monochromatic Monstrosities

This is my second post for today...
Here's my entry into the Macabre Monday challenge over at Haunted Design House.....They want to see the grotesque and the monstrous, and we can only do it in shades of only one color. here's are the shades you can choose from-----black/grey, green, orange, or purple. No I have to tell ya that this is my third project for this challenge....I really wanted to make something with color to it, but the other two projects came out pretty damn crappy....so they ended up in the thank you for coming pile....lol.......ENJOY!!!!!

this is actually a paper mache vase that I converted into a piece of Halloween decoration....I first painted it with white and black acrylic paint to make it gray...then using one of those trusty dusty stencils that belongs to DD, and stenciled in the brick background with black soot distress ink.....then lightly went over it with water to make it look aged....I used Vampire Christian from Simply Betty Stamps new release, cut him out added pop dots and kept it simple at the bottom only using the goo MS border punch......

this is what I did to the top to hide that it was a vase...cut a piece of cardstock to fit but I didn't glue it in...I left it so that flowers could be added if wanted to....I'm really on this roll with the webbing this year....don't know why though.....
and here's just a side view.....hope you've enjoyed this little project....come on over and play along...there's still a little bit of time left......Hugs from Charm City and as always, thanks forstopping by.......

MWAAAAHHHHHH!!! Happy Saturday Blogland

Good morning my fellow bloggers....it's going to be such a lovely day here in Charm City....I wanted to pop in here before our day got rolling and share a card that I made for the challenge over at Make it Crafty. This has been sitting on my desk all week finished as is below, but was trying to figure out how to add more....you know me, I love "stuff".....lol...but I came to the conclusion that it didn't need anything....that being simple is a-okay....lol.......ENJOY!!!!!!

(Edited ---look at the words in the moon...the lettres are screwed up..it's the stamp not me...lol..I had to do a double take and look at the rubber and yep, the letters are merged like that...it's suppose to be frightneing...it was a dollar stamp from Mik'es I think...anyone else have this stamp?)

***************************

Over at Make it Crafty they have their first technique challenge (click for direct link to post) of making a scene.....I made one earlier this week, but you all know how addicted I am to making scenic cards with images.,....so the one above I used my trusty good 'ol Microsoft Word program and merged all images together and printed it off.....I did a copy and paste to the fence 3 times to make the fence longer and to separate the moon from it.....look here and you will see what I mean....I had to copy and paste the moon section so that I could make the fence pieces smaller for the foreground....did that make any sense? The witch , tree and tin can house can be found in the store along with other goodies to play with.....so come on over and play along....

*************************************
I just wanted to do a little tease below....it's a project that's been sitting on my desk for me to finish.....any idea what it possible could be? ....lol.....well I hope everyone has a beautiful sunny day......hugs from Charm City......
ohhh---- is that glitter I see..... this looks interesting, don't ya think....heehee....
oh wow now we're getting into some heavy metal.....rock on baby!!!!! I know, I'm tired and being silly....have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by.....

Today is the new release from Miss Betty over at Simply Betty Blog . She is releasing a new set of digi's at Simply Betty Stamps called Emo Holloweenies....I don't know about you, but when I first set eyes on these darlings (the new Halloweenies), I knew they were for my collection....
**************************************
Well the challenge is to make a Halloween card in one day that uses any of her stamps not related to Halloween......On the card below I used Summer Christian.....ENJOY!!!!!!
****************************

I know, he doesn't look spooky enough....but what I was actually thinking was, "to cute to spook" for a greeting...but instead I went with T or T.......lol....doesn't he look the type though...to cute, PLEASE!!!...I've known some of those in my days.,.....Anywhooooo, I printed off the little guy on the surfboard twice and added pop dots behind him so he would have more presence....you know how the little guys always get lost in the background......I also added some white highlites to the branches and pebbles......I used distress inks, stickles water color paper, greeting & bat are from Recollections, web corner from inkadinkado, branches & pebbles from Stamp Scapes, palm digi unknown....bottom border from tearing the paper from the pad....it's all about going green....

TBS Challenge #18 Burton's School of Ghouls

Burton's School of Ghouls... what would that be like huh? A Private school for all those fun ghouls and boys Burton style.....Simply Betty Stamps are sponsoring us over at Burtonesque Dolls blog this week. So pop over and check out what the rest of the dolls made....ENJOY!!!!!! Here I used Rio from the Emo Back to School digi set. Isn't she just darling with that big 'ol bubble? It so brings back high school memories. I actually made this into a survival school kit. It opens up to reveal 4 tubes (Martha Stewert), 2 of them have those Razzles bubble gum and 2 of them have those little candy coated chocolate balls. What girl doesn't want to have choco choco at school along with her bubble gum....lol....I also used the school's out digi from Tiddly Inks....Martha Stewert border punches, paper from DCWV, and colored in the images using distress inks......
here's a side view....you can either open it by lifting the top portion up and just untie the black and white ribbon....
and here's the inside....EK web punch......no measurements, I just winged it and laid my tubes down onto a piece of printer paper to make a template first then I went back and cut it out of the pattern paper.....I seem to do this alot......
********************************
Well that all I have for this post....my post for Paper Take weekly will be posting soon, so make sure you stop back and check out the challenge for that one.......until then, hugs from Charm City....

Paper Take Weekly Photo Inspiration Challenge

This week we are being sponsored by Wiff of Joy at Paper Take Weekly . The photo below is what you need to use to make a project/card for this week's photo inspiration challenge. I tell you, I had alot of fun. I have always stayed away from this type of challenge because I never knew if I was doing it right or not. But this week, I jumped right in and just went with what ever came to mind......ENJOY!!!!!!
Now look at this photo....bright and cheery, not to mention very colorful. But what I took away from this photo was the way the pillows/shape and the tray were positioned. Although one of the pillows is a little wonky, I didn't do that with my project......and I used the color purple.....
And here is what I came up with....a Big sized candy bar wrapper for Halloween using one of those darling digi's from Simply Betty's new line of Punky Teens. This was such an easy but fun project to make.....paper is from DCWV--distress inks and stickles.....
here's what is looks like with the candy taken out....well that all I have for today.....make sure you stop over at Wiff of Joy and check out their shop. They really have some darling stamps and other goodies in their store. Then stop back by Paper Take and check out the other designers creation and see where their creativity went with this photo....Have a great Tuesday...Hugs from Charm City.....

Make It Crafty--Make a Scene and a Project

Happy New Week Bloggers.....This morning I would like to share a couple of projects....and yes, one of them is the one from the other day that I was going to post..sorry about that.......ENJOY!!!!!!!
********************************
Here is my card for the challenge over at Make it Crafty. Have you heard of this challenge blog? I found it not long ago and have been stalking it ever since....This week's challenge (they are bi-weekly challenges) was a technique challenge with making a scene using 2 or more images. Well, you all know me, I LOVE SCENE CARDS....lol...this was totally up my alley....now normally I like to cut out some of my images, but this one I made a 2-d card -- meaning, I merged all three of my images together and then printed it off that way....But then I made an extra print of the witch and the slimy house and cut out then popped up the roof, hat and bottom portion of the witch image. I used the tropical beach landscape digi but placed the Slimy House on top of the palm tree instead....there's a wonderful tutorial on how to do this on the challenge blog as well....I used all distress inks to color in the images and then used stickles to highlight and add abit of glitz....isn't that slimy house just too kool...if you like this, you should really check out the rest of the digi's there....they are awesome!!!! I can't wait to get some more to play with.....lol......
this is just a closer view of the pieces popped up....
well, it's been a long over due project post...I am so sorry.....the only thing I can say is, life.....I don't know if you remember, but last week I posted a couple projects....this is the third piece to the set that I made for our DD's friend for her birthday........I used an image from Tiddly Inks called Pinky....she's really cute and I love using her on projects.....stop over, Christy is offering 20% off orders over $15.00 ......

here is the complete set......if you would like to check out the details just scroll down the page......well that's all I have for today....make sure you stop back tomorrow for some more projects....Have a sunny sweet kind of day!!!!!....Hugs from Charm City......

I have to say that the brain finally connected and I went to check out Kenny K digi's and I was so blown away....have you checked them out? If not, what the hell are you waiting for.....they are simply just awesome....on the card I used distress inks to color in the image, background (watercolor paper) and embossed with the cuttlebug, used Tim Holtz die for the bottom of the card (3 layers) and finished her off with some ribbon, metal, pearls and stickles.....well make sure you stop over at HDH and check out what the Minions have made......Have a great day....Hugs from Charm City.....

HDH054 - Creepy Cute

Well here I am again....I really didn't think I was going to have time to make this project...but I stayed up all night to finish it so I could add it to the challenge over at Haunted Design House for Macabre Monday's challenge of Creepy Cute and Tiddly Inks is sponsoring them to....run and check out Christy's digi's.....they are soo cute and gothic........the photo above is a snippet of what's to come the next couple of days.........ENJOY!!!!!
You say---what the hell is this...well let me give you a little background....Our little one's friend (as I call her, over the fence friend...she lives behind us and the girls always go over the fence to visit each other..) ...well it was her birthday the other day....so I always make her something and this is what I came up with this year....she decided not to have a party for the next couple of years, so that when she turns 16 she can have a huge sweet 16 party... I thought that we would have her over for dinner one night, give her a little cake and have her wear her crown...hence the little greeting....QUEEN for dinner only....lol....I used the idea from the crowns that you get from Burger King for the kiddies to wear.....I only need to add the band that will go around her head to hold her crown on....
******************************
I used DCWV paper and added some more spider web, added the gooey border punch at the top, the picket fence border at the bottom, some Prima bling and cut the crown at 6" from Happily Ever After......I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday......Hugs from Charm City
