Blog Hop Anyone

Happy Saturday everyone. I want to invite everyone along with my first blog hop. A bunch of us from over at Outta This Funk is participating on this blog hop. Come and join in on the fun and check out some of the most awesom creations that these ladies make. Believe me, you will be so inspired.
Here is my creation that I made for this hop. I made a card set and box for our lovely Aunt Rene for her 92nd birthday. I know it says Happy Mom Day on the lid, but I'm going to change that. I used the template (Valentine's Box) that I purchased from Becky Roberts over at Inking Idaho and converted it for my 5x7 cards. I wanted to use the bigger cards for Aunt Rene to make it easier for her. I also made the lid so it wasn't such a snug fit and easier for her to just lay it atop of the box.
I do have to say that I am so pround of myself though. I'm not much of a stamper, but I used all stamps on this project. Not to mention all cardstock. I colored them in with the different colors of Tim Holtz Distress inks for each card. The inside compartment I'm going to add a few stamps and some little candies.
Here's how it turned out..
Box and 6 cards
the inside with a little side compartment
I used worn lipstick ink
spiced marmalade ink
I used Archival Ink on this one instead. Aqua
dusty concord
fired brick
peeled paint
I also wanted to keep them on the simple side. But I really love how this turned out. And I just hope that she will too. The stamps I used are from Tim Holtz and Inkadinkado.
Now I'm sending you over to
We Would love to know that you stopped in, if you could leave a message that would be wonderful. Thank you so much for blog hopping with us today.

Is it Friday Yet????

I must say that I love Fridays. This is normally a day that I get our little one from school and we go and get movies and Chineese for dinner. It's our special night. And sometimes she has a friend over for the night to.
I wanted to post this layout that I made. I used alot of paint washing and Distress crackle paint (broken china). I have had these for sometime now, and really wanted to play with them. But it's a layout that I really don't care for the outcome. It turned out nothing like I had invisioned. I had a plastic palm tree from one of our little one's bday cake. I tore it apart and white washed it to give it an aged kind of look. The photo is of my in laws. I also used a ball and chain and those lovely Prima flowers. I'm sorry that the photo is not that good.
you can click on the photos to get a better view if you would like to..
thanks for taking a peek today. If I don't a chance to get back here for the weekend, I hope everyone has a great one....

Sweet Miracle

Happy Monday everyone...Here's a quick one that I made just letting go, sort of speaking. I started out with the photo and actually had blue pattern paper for the background, but I ended up using white paint and distress crackle paint. It so doesn't match the photo, but I really do like the outcome. The flower/swirls are actually black rubons that I painted over with a white wash and then added stickle glitter to them to change the appearence. The sweet letters are Making Memories felt letters--black-- that I white washed and added silver glitter glue over top of those too...I like how the black is still there but really muted..
you can click on the image to see more details if you would like to...
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and didn't eat to much candy....

Happy Weekend

How is your weekend going for you? Mine, been busy. I am cooking Easter dinner tomorrow. You know how it goes, clean clean clean before family comes over. So that's what we did.Well, some of the day. I spent some of my time trying to nurse this bad tooth that I have. I went to the dentist this past week and he said that I need to have a root canal done. OHHHH NOOOOO!!!!! Not that. I am so not looking forward to it either. I have been in alot of pain off and on and today took another toll on me. But I did manage to get a couple cards made today and I thought I'd share them with you. I was reading the new issue of Stampers' Sampler. In the article from the Editor she was telling us how she just likes to let loose. Clear her mind and just go with the flow. So I did just that. I got out my stamps and just let loose today. I'm not much of a stamper. I ended up with 3 cards but I'll post 2 of them tonight....I'd love to know what you all think about them. I'm still trying to work on my coloring. I just can't get that down. I used Prisma pencils on the one above and ink on the owl card. I also got out the T!m Holtz hammer and distressed the numbers and brads. Thanks for stopping in and saying HI. I'm hoping to get back to hangin out with everyone soon. I sure do miss you all. Our daughter was feeling better today. Still in some pain but not like she has been these past few days. The Doc said that she could be like this for at least 3 more weeks before the baby comes. So if you could, say a little prayer for her. Thank you so much... Have a great evening...Hugs from Charm City

Just a Quick Update

Our DD has been going back and forth to the hospital yesterday and today thinking she's going to be having the baby. She's not due until the 12th of May. They have sent her home 3 times. I feel really bad for her as she's in so much pain from the contractions. I hope that she either has the baby or that the pain will subside just so she can feel better.
On a lighter note, we just had her baby shower this past Sunday. It was really nice.
Here's a few photos of the shower I'd like to share... here's the soon to be new parents
look at this cake that one of the ladies made. She even used one of my circles that I used for the baby invitations....
here's a centerpiece I made for the tables. I made six of them total. I also made 18 roses made out of baby wash clothes.
The cards posted below are some that Ih ave made over the past few weeks.
this is my very first Magnolia stamped card. Not the best, but it's my first...
I made this using the Dreams come True Cricut cartridge...
here's a card I made playing around with T!M Holtz products...
Thanks for hanging out with me..I hope to have some good news soon on a new bouncing baby boy....

Hellooooooooooo

It's been awhile since my last post. Things have been crazy since I lost my job a month back. I wanted to share a few things that I have worked on these past few days. Our daughter's baby shower is coming up real fast and I wanted to make a little set to put something inside it for her. I don't know what yet, but I'll find something...
If you get a chance pop on over the the Hallmark Ladybug blog and check out the easter bags that DeeDee just posted yesterday. They are awesom, cute and jsut too adorable...
here's what I have been working on...hope you like them....
I used the tags bags and boxes, paper dolls and my community cricut carts, cuttlebug embossing folders on the treeglossy accents, stickles and some distress crackle paints on the number 4 from Tim Holtz' grungeboard. You can purchase all of these in the store at Hallmark Scrapbook. Take a gander over to the store and check out all of the new things and the deals that are still going on. You totally won't be surprised.
You can click on the photos to get a better view.
here's a layout of our little one and her adopted sister (friend)...I used the grungeboard and distress crackle painted from the store. I don't know about you, but I just love this stuff. If you don't have any of this yet, you need to have this in your supplies. It's so fun and easy to add dimention to your cards or projects. You can get these in the store also...
here's a layout of a day trip we took down to the beach to help celebrate Dad's 70th birthday. I used the Sesame Street cricut cart for the crab. Used some washers that I purchased in the hardware store and aged them with some chemicals. I made a border around the layout using the MArtha Stewart doily punch and used tea dyed material through the holes that I punched out with the Bind it all machine. I also tea dyed the 2 tags and used alot of Distress inks to age the layout.
here's a card I made for a challenge over on the message board at Hallmark Scrapbook. I had asked everyone to use the border flower cut from Walk in my Garden to make a card for Mom. Hallmark Scrapbook is having a sale on Cricut carts still. Pop on over and check them out if you're looking for some new ones. Or you can pre-order the new carts that will be in later sometime.
I wanted to make a new piece of art for my studio and this was what I came up with. I was playing around with the negatives from a few cuts for the background and to make the letter "L". I used polymer clay added it to the negative to make the letter and then I used the Sizzix clear stamps to impress into the clay before I baked it. Then I used bown, black paint watered down to give it an aged look. The background I used the possitives then inked the sheet using the Distress inks, then took the sheet of negative and added the swirls Sizzix clear stamps and stamped inside the scrolls. I think it's missing something, but I just can't put my finger on what I need to add yet...
Well I hope everyone has had a great month...Hugs from Charm City

Happy March Everyone

Just a quick little post today. Not much going on in the life of this crabbie....lol...other than I lost my job a couple weeks back. Been looking high and low for a new one. Just abit of a downer here and really don't have much creativeness going on in the brain. Do you ever get like that? I would like to share with everyone a little sneek peek that I just posted over at Hallmark Ladybug blog. You'll have to click on the link to check out the tutorial though... Well I hope everyone has a wonderful week, and if you get a chance to make something using the tutorial I just posted, I would truly love to see your project... Hugs from a snowy Charm City

Is it Me

or does anyone else make happy things when life throws you a curve? This past week has been such a rollercoaster here. So I made this cute little set for our little ones friend for her birthday yesterday. It just brought a smile to my face (not to mention our little one loved it too..).
I used the Sesame Street Cricut cartridge for the frog and Celebrations cart for the balloon. You know the Cricut carts are on sale right now over at Hallmark Scrapbook . Pop on over and check them out. You won't be disappointed. I also used Ranger's Stickles that you can purchase in the store. Inside the box I added a stuffed frog that holds gift cards...Isn't that frof just the cuttest? It made me happy happy to use her....lol...
This litte card I made with the inspiration from Bunnylover over at Hallmark Scrapbook . She's been sharing her cute cards using clipart. Go and check out her gallery.
I used the cute little raggedy doll I purchased along time ago from Scrappin Doodles. They make the cutest little country clipart. Not to mention they are hiring. They are looking for someone to write tutorials using their clipart. So if you think you might be interrested, pop on over and read the details. Good luck if you try out. It seems like an awesom deal too...
I printed out raggedy's onto one piece of cardstock. And then I just cut each one into different layers. The second photo shows a little more. I also used the Zooballo (grass and tree) and Storybook (marque) Cricut cartridges that you can purchase at Hallmark Scrapbook.
Well that's it for today...Have a great week ahead.

Tuesday Already

I wanted to share some cards I made last weekend. I received my order from Hallmark Scrapbook with the Hello Kitty cart in it and played alittle...if you haven't been over to the store, you should pop in and check out the deals that are going on right now. They are scrumptious!!! The paper is the euphoria collection from Basic Grey which went perfectly for these cards that you can also purchase in the store. With spring and summer coming up, these will go perfectly with your projects and layouts. And they cordinate so well together.... So what are you waitng for, come on over and check out the store. Stop in and say hi on the message boards to. We would love to see you.
Here's one cut 3 ways from the Cricut cartridge. Nothing fancy, just simple....and did you notice---no ink on the edges...you know how hard that was for me...hehe..
here's a card I made for a challenge on the message board at Hallmark Scrapbook. Hop on over and check them out. The ladies are so inspiring and very creative they will knock your socks off...I am just in aww when they post their creations....
I used the Doodlecharms Cricut cart for the ladybug cut at 3 1/2"...I also used the stamps from Studio G....
Here's a little set I made using the tags bags and boxes Cricut cartridge. It's the crayon box. I'm using that as the envie. I cut up an old manilla folder and ran it through my cricut to cut the box out. I wanted to play around with the Tim Holtz technique using the Distress inks and water to give this a vintage feeling....printed a Valentine image (downloaded from the internet) and aged that using the inks with no water...this is such a fun technique, and it's very messy...but FUN!!!! Lol...you can see more detail on this set by clicking here...
Well I hope everyone has a great day. Hugs from a warming up Charm City

Happy Thursday

Happy Thursday Bloggers.....jsut wanted to pop in and say Hi. Thought I'd show you what I have been up to....This was just a fast little candy bar wrapper to cover this big candy bar for a Valentine's Day present. Sorry for the photo...I just couldn't get good shots today... I used my Pazzles machine with the Boxes and Bags cd to make this vase. It's a four sided one. Added some little lollipops to the inside as a little Valentine's Day gift.... I purchased my Pazzles at Hallmark Scrapbook along with other Pazzle supplies. Stop on over and check out the store right now they are having a sale... this was a pizza box that I made for our little one's teacher at school. I totally can't remember where I got this file from...please forgive me....but I printed this onto cardstock and cut it out. Added some bling-- a soft spoken sticker from Me&My Big Ideas and some ribbon and such.
this is the inside. Not much going on just some candies inside some little cupcake cups...I do need to add a piece of paper to the inside lid....
These are what our DD's baby shower cards look like. The photos don't do them justice though...sorry about that...I used the New Arrival Cricut cart--the circle feet at 3"...this was a great cut cuz' I got 2 for 1....woohooo...we all love 2 fers ....lol....
you can purchase this cart from Hallmark Scrapbook in the store...remember they are having a huge sale right now...so stop on in and say Hi.....
