PaperTake Weekly--Sketch #51 Challenge

Woot Woot!!! It's another week for a great challenge over at PTW. This week we are doing a sketch challenge...It's a simple but good one....and we are being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. They offer a wide range of products....so hop on over and see what kind of Christmas goodies you can get......ENJOY!!!!!!
here's the sketch...how fun is this...the possibilities are so endless....
and this is what I came up with....it's a 2"fer...lol....it's that time of year and I love to make home made boxes and things to stuff presents in for my family and friends...I'm thinking this set will go to my nephew who's 13...maybe not though....anywho, I used the sketch on the card and sort of on the milk carton....the stamps are Darcie's (#pol 12 set) except for the tag those are from Studio G....and the template for the milk carton came from here....remember I posted a box I made the other day for Stamp It Crazy (just scroll down and you can see it)? Well I found the link and you can go and make one yourself....but for the milk carton I used the same directions for the big box and just added an extra score mark.....and then kind of folded in the sides a bit to form a carton.....and this my friend was found by making a mistake when I was following the directions....I really like how big this is...the other cartons are abit smaller in size and you can't pack as much stuff inside them.....
here's the card....I just love this snowman pirate.....I just kept this real simple since a teenager is going to get it....they normally are all about the gift and not the packaging...lol....I colored in the images with Prisma Pencils.....
the carton...I just folded down the tab at the top (which is actually one of the score marks on the instructions) and added a clip to keep it together....
here's a side view.....I truly love how this turned out....and I'm sure you'll be seeing more of these this holiday season...hope you don't get to sick of them.....
Well, I want to thank you for stopping in today...make sure you stop and see what the rest of the team has created...they always amaze me week after week with their creativity.....Hugs from Charm City....

Just keep going. Don't forget to leave some love everywhere you land, including here! Once you have gone full circle you have completed the Hop. If you've come here from Ginny's blog then you are on the right track..... ENJOY!!!!!!! you all know how much of a STEELER'S fan I am...well I thought this would make for a great card to send one of my opponents that loves another team....lol....let's go STEELER'S--Let's GO!!!! lol....I walk around at work sometimes and sing this....let me tell ya, I live in Raven's country...and being a STEELER'S fan, I take alot of wrath...and I mean ALOT!!!! So anyway I can add that dagger in just a little deeper I will...lol...all in fun, you know that, right!!! Here in our house, DH--DD and I are all fans of different teams...and we each have our own footballs that sit on top of the entertainment center...and who ever is in the lead for the season that week, their football gets to be out front....needless to say that DD's has been out front for the past few weeks...and she's loving it....she's a Raven's fan mind you....so I thought this card would make it to her book bag one morning before she goes off to school...lol....ok, enough...sorry for my ramblings......
here I used Hank Holla from the new collection being released today...you can find him and the football at Bonibleaux Designs...it's under the dollar section (football) on the left hand side....I just kept this a very simple card... I think it get's the point across....and when she shows her friends at school, I know they will all laugh...they are all Raven's fans too....
*********************** Well that's all I have...your next stop is the darling Tammy's Blog...Have a sunny day and thanks so much for stopping by today.....Hugs from Charm City...

it's a pretty tall box...I like that it's abit larger than the normal sizes out there....

here's just a closer view of the snowflakes and I popped up Mr. Snowman onto some foam board...well that's all I have for today..stop by and see what the rest of the team has created at PTW........Hope you have a sunny day and many thanks for stopping in....Hugs from Charm City.....

just a closer view of lil reindeer man....isn't he just dawling!!!.....well that's all I have for today.....make sure you stop over at SIC and see what the rest of the team had created....they always have some great eye candy.....Have a sunny kind of day.....hugs from Charm City....

Macabre Monday HDH063 - Freaker's Free-for-All

Happy Saturday everyone...well it's a little gloomy here....yesterday we lost a co-worker to an accident....she was standing in the back of her pick-up truck, fell and hit her head on the curb just outside of the bed..she had hit her head so hard that they could not revive her while waiting for the ambulance.......she ended up being brain dead when she got to the hospital and shortly thereafter past away...shortly just before that, we were chatting about life together....just about the weekend and the weather and all.....and then not even 5 minutes after I had left work, this happened....this is just another sign to live life to the fullest...and make sure you tell everyone around you how much you care and love them....to be the best possible person you can be.....it's a sad day here, but I am looking for the sun to be shining today as that's how our friend was....very bubbly, happy and always had a smile on her face.....May God be with her family in this time of need....please say a prayer for them.....
**********************************************
....this week over at Haunted House Designs it's a free-for-all....just dark and creepy.... I don't know if you would consider this dark and creepy, but this is what I ended up with.....ENJOY!!!!!!!
Poor Santa is down to his bones and has one last place to deliver presents to and realizes where it is....lol.....this turned out to be a gift box of some sort......no one in particular to give this to either....I have been dying to use this image from Stamp it Crazy....sorry though, I don't think I gave Santa justice......I also used the row homes from Starving Artist--stickles----grass, fence and trees cut from my Expression----- and MS branch punch layered the trees for added texture.....
here's a side view....it's a pretty deep box.... about 2" deep...I used black stripes with Tim Burton in mind......but I'm thinking it needs a trim around the top and bottom to kind of finish it off..... just a view on it's side together.......well that's all I have for today....I'm having dinner and cake (home made apple pie instead...lol) for my Father-In-Law today....he's up here from the beach for a few days and yesterday was his 72nd birthday.....so we wanted to celebrate with him.....I hope everyone has a sunny day....Hugs from Charm City.....

DudeTime Doodles Challenge #1--Sketch

WOOT WOOT!!! This is the first challenge over at a new blog from DudeTime Doodles....if you just happened to hear about this blog, the challenges are on the 5th and 20th of the month (along with other's popped in there also)and the theme is geared towards guys...man....boy...all about the boys....lol....as I've said before, I have a hard time myself making these types of cards. We all need them in our stash for the men in our lives, including the little men...so why not come on over and join in with the challenges and hang out....I can foresee alot of inspiration coming from this blog, the images, and the team....not to mention all of you...We just had a blog hop and were giving away free images and other goodies....if you scroll down and read my post below, there's a link to the next one in the loop and check out their wonderful creations...maybe you can still find the images...ENJOY!!!!!

here's the sketch for this week....do whatever you would like with it just as long as your project/card is for a GUY....and Miss Boni is even allowing you to use any images you prefer...but you know we would just love for you to use one of her images and show us what you can do....we are also being sponsored by Glitterbabe Greetings and she is offering 4 digi's of your choice....how cool is that for a prize package for one random winner....take a gander over and see what else is in store for you....you have 2 weeks to complete your project and upload to DTD Challenge Blog and the winner will be announced on November 12th there...GOOD LUCK!!!!

On this card I used an image called youth football....now how darling is this...this is a card from DD to DH...we are football fans here in our home...totally --and all 3 of us like different teams...so this year poor Daddy just lost his quarterback (Dallas Cowboys) due to injury.....and now he is all down and out....so that leaves DD (Baltimore Ravens fan) and Me (Steelers fan) tied for first place.....and we are battling it out between us too....but I thought this image was so fitting for DD to give her Daddy a sympathy card.....lol....what do you think?
here's a closer view....I used flower soft on the football to give it some dimension......
***************************
Well that's all I have for today...Stop by and check out what the rest of the team has created.,....they have alot of inspiration over there......Hugs from Charm City

PaperTake Weekly--It's a Guy Theme

WOOT WOOT!!! How very cool is this...I know just how hard it is to make a guy card as the next person. So what a better way than to challenge yourself to make your special guy one....make it funny, adorable, simple or a really--really special card (you get my drift...lol).....just make him one and show him how much you love him.....a just because card....
This week at PTW we are being sponsored by Wiff Of Joy. Do make sure you hop over there and check out what's in store......there are alot of goodies......ENJOY!!!!!
and here's my guy card....this is another image from Imagenation--Just Inklined Designs--Maude Merry Christmas....she is a freebie right now, but I don't know for how much longer...I absolutely think she looks just like me....except her belly is smaller....lol...you can see her belly button...I just love how she's perched up on the banister waiting for Santa to come. All sexy looking, smelling purdy and wearing Santa's favorite hat....lol.....I also used these stairs that I got from Bonibleaux Designs. They aren't released yet, so this is kind of like a sneak peek. You will be able to purchase them the middle part of this month....so in the mean time, stop over and grab some of the other images....there are so many....all other images are from Starving Artist and pattern paper from Basic Grey....
and here she is all ready to give Santa an early Christmas present....lol...now tell me, what hot blooded man wouldn't jump on that....I need to add bubbles to the tub where there is an opening though...I couldn't find any that I liked so I left it blank for now....I also used the bed that I've used before from Starving Artists, but I turned it upside down and trimmed off a couple of pieces and made this into a bath tub....Have you ever turned rubber stamps upside down to see if you can see other images inside them....you know kind of like 2fer's....I do this all the time...that's how I had seen this as a tub....then I seen others had the same idea with this stamp on blogs....try it with your stamps....and you can even try it with digi stamps to....Just open a program that is installed on your computer that allows you to flip--mirror or even rotate an image and play.....you never know what you will see in the shadows.....lol....
just a side view.....
Well that's all I have for today...I want to thank everyone for your sweet comments and for taking time to visit each time.....Have a Sunny Day...Hugs from Charm City

Paper Cubed Challenge--Votive Decoration

WOW...Where on earth did October go? So it's now the first of the month and that means we have another challenge from P3. Our challenge this month is to make some type of votive (candle) wrapper/ decoration. It can be any theme.......ENJOY!!!!!!
Here's what I came up with after I seen the sweet Miss Debbie's project....you have to go and check out her project....it's simply darling.........let me tell you, I went round and round with so many different things I wanted to make. But in the end, I ended up with this very simple votive holder with just the flip of your wrists....lol....all you have to do is cut cardstock and pattern paper to the size desired, and bring one end around to the other end and softly pinch the middle top on opposite end to the two ends.......here I just used a 3" circle punch to cut my windows and layered my paper together...I took a piece of transparency and used Krylon frosted glass spray (found at Michaels in the paint section) and lightly sprayed the transparency for my window....I also added a piece of white cardstock to the inside to give the light alittle more glow as opposed to a darker background.......Mr Turkey is from a new place that a Dudette had shared with us called Imagenation....

just showing the top view so you can get the jest of it....very simple and easy to make....I hope that you will all join us this month....Why not make that special little votive holder for you holiday decorations......So stop by and check out what the rest of the team has created....they always blow me away every month....Hugs from Charm City.....
