Merry Christmas (moose) cards

Happy Monday everyone....I just wanted to pop in here and share a couple cards and photos. I'm almost finished with my morning coffee and I'll be off and running. I need to finish up my shopping today (hopefully) and then finish the decorating here at our home. We just had a blizzard the other day and it took a day to dig out from that. But at least we are going to have a WHITE Christmas this year, finally!!! We never have a white Christmas. So this snow was very welcomed. I just wish it wasn't so much all at once. ..lol..but nonetheless, we have it and it's here to stay for awhile. So first up is a card I made for a special customer and his wife that we have. He is just sooo funny and always smiling and happy. So I just wanted to make them a special card this year. I used one of those display globes from flower soft and added some diamond dust to the inside as a shaker. Let me tell you, the globe is huge. So much bigger than the one I used and posted on my snowman card below. But I love it. Even though it's so much bigger, I like that you can really do more things with it. The paper is Making Memories, used the Martha Stewert leaf punch for the tree and $1 stamps from Michaels and Ranger glitter glue. I made ribbon corners to match the folded ribbon at the bottom.
This next card is a stamp I got at a rubber stamp convention. He's just the cutest moose. I colored him in with prisma pencils added glitter glue and cut him out. I also used the Storybook Cricut cart to make the frame and some shaved ice. I still need to add a sentiment.
And last but not least, this is our little man (grand baby). I bought him this little Steelers outfit for Christmas and had to make sure it fit him. Everyone knows that I just love The Steelers. And I want him to grow up "loving" them as much as I do. Although I think I will have a problem with that. Our daughter and his Daddy are Baltimore Ravens fans. So I can see a fight on my hands for this venture. But only time will tell who he'll root for in the years to come...heehee....on a little side note, he's not feeling to well. He's got phenomena and is very sick right now. I just hope that he gets to feeling better soon. So if you could, just say a little prayer for him.
look at that happy face. He really is such a ham when it comes to the camera...
Well that's all I have for today...probably the week. I hope that everyone has a safe and Happy Holiday. I'll try to post later this week if I get a chance, but I know this week is very busy for all of us here at our home. Hugs from a very snowy Charm City

More Christmas Cards/Bags

Good morning peeps---as promised I have a few more things that I've made these past couple of weeks. Yesterday was a little hectic here as DH and our little one stayed home. They both are once again sick. I just can't believe how they have gotten sick a few times already this season. But we did manage to go out and get our tree yesterday only to bring it home to sit on the patio for the night. I'm hoping to bring it in the house so it can fall (as is needed for a real tree) before we decorate it in a couple days. So for today I'm hoping to get all of the Christmas boxes out of the attic and start the decorations for the house. I know, it's abit late, but we are always "late bloomers"...lol... Lately I have been listening to books on cd's. It's a new addiction that I have right now. And I wanted to share this new series that I have been listening to. I just love mystery/murder novels. And this set of series from Diane Mott Davidson is really kind of cool. The novels are abit slow, but once you get into them are really great. They are about a caterer, Goldie, who has so many mishaps in her business that she gets closed down from the health board/police department for various things. And it seems like murder always followers her no matter where she has a catering gig at. But what I found really cool with these novels that at the end of them, she actually shares the recipes that she mentions in the novel. And the how to's. The best part is that I get all of my books on cd's from the library. I go through and I check them out all at once so I have the whole series (well most of them..the library doesn't carry every single one). So if you are a reader or listener (as I am) and you are into mystery/murder novels this is a series you should check out. She (Goldie) is so funny. She's devorced (who's family is wacked beyond belief) with an adelecent son... and marries a detective in one of the books. Who is just so laid back it isn't even funny. After this series, I'm looking for a new one. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any that you have read/listened to that you just loved? Please share... Well here are the projects posted below....Enjoy!!! Remember you can click on the photos for a better view....... this first one is a box that I made using the Tags Bags and Boxes Cricut cart. I used the match2 cut at 8 1/2" for the top and 8 1/4" for the bottom to make like a shirt box. But instead of keeping the card seperately, I actually glue it to the top of the box for the decoration. I also used a frame cut from the Storybook cart and trimmed the sides and used them for the card as well. I stamped the santa, colored it in with Distress inks, added stickles glitter glue and added Tim Holtz clear tiles and cut them out only using a portion of the stamped image for the front of the card. The paper is from Cosmo Cricut. this is a side view this is the card partially opened. I have to say that I really love how this one turned out.
this is another set I made using the same directions as above for the box and instead of using a frame from the Storybook cart I used the flower and circle from the George cart. The sign was made using My Community cut at 5" and the letters were cut from, well I don't remember...lol..(it's an age thing..) if I don't write it down at that moment, I forget..sorry
this is the card.......I used the puff embossing powder for the reindeer and the letters (on the box).
this is the front of the box
just a closer view of the puff embossing powder..I am really loving this stuff...
here's just a box, same cuts as above, and I just added paint and some diamond dust to the chipboard ornament from Cosmo Cricket..Just a simple little box...
just a side view....
a little closer view of the diamond dust...sometimes it's really hard to see it in photos....
and here's a little card I made using up this sticker I've had for years. Don't know if I really care for the outcome of this card though. I used the frame from STorybook cut at 4" and the snowflakes from Winter Woodland cut at 2 1/2" and 1 1/2"
Well that's it for today. I hope to be back in a day or two with a few more projects. Have a warm and happy Tuesday...hugs from Charm City

The Pink Elephant Challenge and so much more

WOWZA!!! Where has the time gone. I have been really bogged down with, well I guess, life. I have been able to play along the way though, just haven't had the time to take photos and upload them here. I have so much to share but today I will only post a few things and post some more tomorrow. With it being Christmas time, last year I made everyone a special bag/box (cuz we normally just give out gift cards except to the kiddies) and I have been feverishly trying to get them done again this year. I like to add some other little trinket inside other than just give a g.card and that's it. This year I'm in the middle of making cookies-bread-muffins-fudge, you know, all of those goodies. That is what I'm planning on adding to the insides of these boxes/bags ect that I have been making. So if you can, I would love to know what you all think.
This weeks challenge over at The Pink Elephant is Winter and or Christmas theme. This little set I made for our newphew, that's 18 yrs old. fit perfectly into this challenge. I wanted something different for him and not the normal red/green Christmas colors. These papers are from the holiday stack DCWV from Michaels. These are actually what sold me on this stack. I just loved them. Remember to click on the photos to get a bigger view if you would like to
here's what I used:
tags bags boxes Cricut cartridge--square box --8 3/4"--7 3/4" --6 3/4"
christmas cheer cart--snowman--5"
george cart--circle (I forgot to write down the size for this...sorry)
I used a shaker card pouch from Impression Obsession to add the diamond dust to his belly with the stamped greeting. I still need to add his tag for the nesting boxes to.
view of the card...the top I used the Fiskars scallop punch and made it so it popped off instead of laying flat to the card.
closer view of his belly...
A dear friend, Betty over at Scrap Happy Witch sent this blog award to me a few weeks back and this is the first I've been able to proudly display it on my blog. Thank you so much sweetie. There are a few things I need to do for it, but I will have to add that tomorrow. Thanks so much for thinking of me girl.
This set I made for "someone". Don't know who yet. But one day I wanted to make a penguin and I truly don't care for the ones that are in the Cricut books. So I set out to make one using shapes and got the idea from someone here that does alot of Stampin Up. I don't have everything in front of me right now and a link to her web site, but if someone is interested I can post them at a later time. Just let me know.
Here's the rest:
Christmas Solutions--santas sleigh--2"
tags bags boxes--nut cup--5 3/4"
I also used Heidi Swapp's snowflakes, but you can easily make your own using sheet protectors and cutting them on your Cricut machine.
here's the card
I just love love this little guy.
here's a set of cards I made using the same 4 stamps just changing out the colors of the ink.
Here's what I used:
Storybook Cricut cart used for all of the frames on the cards. Dont remember the sizes, sorry Paper Dolls cart--used for the grass cut at 1" (silver card)
Angel stamp is from The Artful Stamper
background stamp-- Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy stamp set happy holidays and my friend stamps are from Studio G (these are 2 seperate stamps)
I think this is my favorite out of all of them. The frame I took and clipped off the little thingy from the sides and used them as photo corners.
on this one I used the white puff embossing powder from Ranger to emboss the angel stamp. I really love how it feels.
Well that's it for today. I'll be back tomorrow to post a few more projects and a couple of cards that I have to share. I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season. Hugs from Charm City....

Happy Christmas Advent Calendar

Happy Belated Thanksgiving everyone. I'm sorry I haven't been able to post much lately, but I have been extremely busy with work and trying to get this calendar finished for the contest over at Michaels.com. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with alot of memories to cherish with family and friends. I don't know about you all, but we are still munchin' on left overs here in our home. Or the greatness of Thanksgiving left overs...yummmmmmmy...lol... So here it is. This took me a couple of weeks to make off and on. Every little spare moment I got I worked on this little booger...lol...I made the frame out of foam board and the little boxes from Tags Bags and Boxes Cricut cartridge. I'll add the rest of the recipe below if you are interested in them. I made this for our little one. I wanted something different for her this year and I have always wanted to make an advent calendar. So I took the plunge and this is what I came up with. What do you think? Think she will like it? The front I made into a window. You all know how I just love to make window cards with little scenes inside. So this was my take on it this year. A little different from years past. Remember you can click on the photos to get a better view if you would like to this is the outside of the calendar in the photo above and this is the inside.... Look at that very sassy kitty sittin in the chair. Isn't she just the cutest. The photo on the wall is one of our favorites with her sitting on Santa's lap when she was 5yrs. old. And holy moly, those darn nut crackers gave me such a fit with their size. I could not get their faces right to save my life...lol...I think they look dorky...lol ...I used cranberry re-inker to dye the cheesecloth that I used for a blanket and the bulbs on the tree. And a ton of stickles...oh man, did I use the stickles...lol... a closer view....
can you see the kitty in the window...she's looking at you...lol....

Holiday Greetings spinner/easel and a Christmas Bingo Cards

Hello bloggers...just a little quick post to share a couple cards I made last week. I haven't had much time to post lately.... The first card I actually made for a challenge, but didn't get it uploaded in time for Crazy 4 Challenges easel challenge...this was my take on it...I made the card fronts (6X6..not made in DS) and welded the trees snowflakes and Santa's sleigh/reindeers to a square/oval each layer in Design Studio...then I took Santa and made him into a spinner to fly across the front...kind of like I would picture him being on Christmas Eve night as he went from roof top to roof top....lol...but he always comes out with a smile on his face...I can't remember where I got the instructions to make the spinner card, but if I can find it again I'll share the link...I truly couldn't believe how easy it was to make a spinner card....our little one keeps playing with this card and just giggles everytime he goes spinning across the card....
the card below I made last week also. I had seen so many bingo sheets being used on cards that others share across the net, that I decided to make one myself. It was abit time consuming, but I really like how it turned out....I also made this in Design Studio but it can easily be done without it....if you get a chance, my dear freind Miss Donna (popsicle toes) has made some also and has graciously share her DS file....so pop on over to her blog and check out her designs...not to mention all of her creativity...and let me tell you, she has so much creativity it just oozes out of her toes....
Well hope everyone has a wonderful week...I'm trying to make something to enter into Michael's contest...I'm just at a brainfart right now and don't know which way I want to take this project....hugs from Charn City

Miss You and Merry Christmas Cards

Good Morning blogland---I wanted to share some photos and a couple of cards with you today. This is our little one in this years costume. I have to tell you though, it is such a chore to go costume hunting with her. I just dread it every year. You know, one of those shopping trips when DH goes with us. That's the way I feel with her. It takes forever as she needs to try on ever single one in the store. But anywho, this is what she decided on. A little witch. Somedays it truly fits her...lol...must be that pre-teen thing going on with her...she had alot of fun and that's all that matters. .......I hope everyone had a great Halloween time... ---oh---the little pumpkin head she made at a girl scout trip a week or so back.they went to a farm for the day and this is what she came home with....isn't she just dazzling.... This is our little GB. It's his first Halloween. Isn't he just the cutest....
And this is him with our poochie. Do you see the sad eyes that he's portraying? He hates his costume (poochie). I mean really "hates" it...the day our little one came home from shopping with DH and she put this on him he came running to me and gave me those sad eyes like, please help me. I knew exactly what he was thinking. I look like a dork....lol...I'm a boy and this is for girls...lol...although it's a very nicely made costume, it's big and bulky and just not him. Our little one (Kait) was planning on taking him trick or treating this year with her. So come Halloween, he laid around all day, not eating basically not doing anything. We thought something was wrong. So we pampered him that day and I wouldn't let Kait take him out treating with her. Needless to say, it really broke her heart and I felt really bad. Anywho, this is the best part, after everything was over with he was all jumpity and barking and being his old self. When I seen that I told DH that he was playing possum cuz he was not wearing that pumpkin costume out in public....lol...I could not believe that our dog was smart enough to do something of this nature. Maybe I'm wrong, but I tell ya, I really don't think I am....and we laugh about it when see his costume sitting there.
The next 2 cards were inspired by my friend Donna (popsicle toes) . She does such amazing work with the Cricut machine and her DS it just makes me drool over everything she makes. You have got to go and check her out....you truly won't be disappointed.... I sat down last week and started playing with DS alittle more and this is what I came up with...Enjoy!!!!
