Just Because

Good morning...well chilly willy morning here...I thought spring was here, but it seems like it's taken a bit of a vacation...lol....I wanted to pop in here and share a card I had made with Edwin. I can't seen to remember what everyone calls this type of card, but I was finally able to make one. I really enjoyed all of the cards I had seen on the net and thought I'd give a go at one. But before I show you the card I do have a question about the borderabilities from Spellbinders.
Here's my question: how do you get the border to cut out fully on both sides? It seems like only one side will cut and I have to go in with my scissors and finish the opposite side. Is this right? Did I get a bum die? Or is there a trick to using these dies? I have gone to Spellbinders site and snooped around but for the life of me couldn't find anything that could help. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Now onto my card. I hope you enjoy peeking as I did making this card.....Enjoy!!!!!
here's the front of the card...I used my nesties to make the window and border. Edwin, chair and house scene are from Magnolia and the curtains, plant and rug are from Doodle Factory Boudoir collection, paper from DCWV and flowers are from Prima......on the side there's a tag that pulls out for my journaling...
just a closer view....
side view....
view with the tag pulled out...I added a little red acrylic heart (Heidi Grace) to the corner of the tag...
Thanks for stopping in today. Hugs from a soon to be wet Charm City.....

  3. Awesome! I love the scene you created! Very cute card with LOTS of work obviously gone into it!

As for the Spellbinders question; I have never had this problem with my Spellbinders in my Cuttlebug... what system are you using? If it is a Cuttlebug, have you tried shimming up your stack with cardboard? Perhaps you have either a bad die (does it happen to just this one?) or a lopsided roller in the machine (does it happen to all of them?) Hope you figure it out!

  7. You know, I have some borderabilities that I won as part of a blog RAK thing and I have yet to use them. I didn't think that you could use both sides, but what do I know?!? Anyway, your card is wonderful. I love this scene and the flowers and pearls are great touches. Gina

  16. OMG your card is amazing!! Love it all. What a scene you have created!

O and to answer your question the borderabilities are just that to created a 'border' so they are only meant to cut along one side. You should have two in the packet, well thats how mine came , one cuts out a 'strip' and the other makes a 'border' alongthe edge of your paper. I hope that helps. you can email me if you need me to explain it more :)

  17. Nancy your card is awesome! You have done a fabulous job! Some many great details!
Leonie is right you should have received 2 border dies and one is a double side die and the other will only cut on one side.

    Nancy

  21. Hi Nancy!! Yup sounds like you got a bum nestie. You can fix that by putting a shim in it. Okay that's just a fancy word for a piece of paper. LOL!! I have sometimes had to use 3 on some of my dies but it works. Just be careful not to put too many in and bust your A plate or your CB.

OMG YOUR CARD IS FANTASTIK!! Curtains, a plant by the CHAIR? JAW DROPPED ON SHOE. Then your flowers outside the window and a city in the background?!! HOLI!!! You are so freakin creative. I'm gonna touch you one day in hopes that it's contagious. BROL!!

  28. Wow Nancy! this scene is so totally fabulous! So cozy and I just want to sit and gaze at all of the beautiful details! I just opened one of my Nesties border sets and indeed, one is meant to cut straight through on both sides and one is a border that would be used like a border punch, just along one edge. Threw me for a loop at first too. xxD
