6 Cards and a Layout

Happy rainy Monday...lol...not that's it's happy here, but it is rainy...I have to say that I got the bug...the flu bug that is...so this will be short and sweet. I just needed to get up out of bed and sit instead of laying down...so I thought I'd share these cards and a layout that I made last week. It seems like I have just been posting once a week with everything that I've made the previous week. So I hope you all don't mind it all at once.... Well I'm off and back to bed for abit. I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead and many many thanks for stopping by and for your comments. They all make my day!!!!! Hugs from Charm City.......ENJOY!!!!!!
this is DH and our little grandbaby on a visit here a couple years back when we all went on vacation to the beach....I still need to add the journaling to finish it....I also made this using a sketch from Jana's Sketches...pop on over and check them out...they are all very inspiring...
this one turned out way busy....don't know if I like the outcome or not yet....
this was made with a no holds bar...what ever I grabbed that's what went on this card....old SEI paper and remember those deco scissors? Yep, I used them instead of the border punches...
and I have to say that I just love this little fella...he's a digi stamp from Dustin Pike. I just adore all of his digi's, but haven't used them yet. I made this into a paper piecing and used it for a card....isn't he just the cutest....
here's a cute little card I made with a stamp I received from Kimmie for winning her challenge a few weeks back. She is just so darling....thanks Kimmie...I really loved the package you sent ...here's the link to the store if you wanted to pop on over and check out the rest of the stamps...they are to die for....and if you wanted to join in on the fun with the challenges you can check them out here.
I thought this would make for a cute thank you card for our little one to send her Grandmother. It's a little premature, but my Mother in law wants to take her to this tea and crimpet little place one afternoon for the two of them to have tea together. So I figured why not be ahead of the game....simple but that stamp is ever so cute...I also used my scor-pal that I received from Diana....thanks Diana....I will be using this more in the future...this is such an awesom tool and I can't wait to make some things with it.... here's a card I actually made for a challenge over at Moxie Fab World . It's not very good though....
now, last but not least, here's another-- just add whatever...I can tell you, I don't like this one at all...I think the orange flowers are my problem..I think it needs green there instead....what do you all think? It just doesn't flow for me....

New Magnolia Cards St Pattys Day Party and some News

Happy Monday....I hope you don't mind but this will probably end up being a long post. I wanted to share some photos of our trip to the beach to party with friends for St. Patty's Day, some new cards that I made last week and some awesom news. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours here was just a beauty. The sun was shining and it was warm. We started the clean up of our patio of tearing down our bamboo canopy that the storms had totally demolished. Not to mention all of the other things it ruined in the process. DH has decided to build a pergela (SP?). He wants it to be sturdy. No more canopys. But I have some reservations. He's not a builder. I remember when we had a dog shortly after we purchased our home, he tried to build a doghouse for her. She tore it down as fast as he could build it...lol...I still chuckle at the thought of that....so this will be something I will document to add to our family album...hopefully everything will end up the way he invisions. Wish him luck.... The photos below are some of the St Patty's Day party we went to down at the beach. This is something that we do every year. We totally dress up and look like dorks, but hey, it's all in the fun...right!!! This years theme was light ups. I know you can't see them in the photos but we did glow like a tree....lol....we had so many people come up to us wanting us to have a photo taken with them. It was such a blast, a time that we get to spend together and just let loose... I have to say that this is my fav. photo of DH. Look at his hat. All of those shot glasses.....they go all the way around the hat.....and he actually had someone pour beer into them...lol...they use to come out but I had hot glued them so that he wouldn't lose them. and here the both of us are...I told you we looked like dorks....lol...but we had fun not to mention alot of WOOWOO'S...alot of them....my drink holder is actually one of the tall plastic drink thingies with a lid, I just decorated it with a green boa, added the hat at the top and just added some other decorations around it with a couple of lighted buttons...it holds one woowoo perfectly minus most of the ice that they add to the cup.... these guys were so funny...you could tell they were having a blast as everyone was...but look at the next photo with his green shoes...plastic...lol...now if he wasn't a man comfortable in his skin...lol....I soo loved these.... well that's the photos of the party at the beach...here's some cards that I made last week....all images were colored in with Distress ink refills......Enjoy!!!!!!
here's a card I'm going to send DH in the mail. I used the jungle scene, tilda with lace skirt and stuffed couch from Magnolia that I purchased from the Magnolia-licious Store . I'm having alot of fun playing with these stamps. The plants and wall are from Starving Artists. I absolutely loved this set I got from them as you can see more of the set on the inside of the card. It's called Doodlefactory Boudoir and Classic Decor . These work perfectly with the Maggie stamps to.
here's the inside. I took the Tilda with lace skirt head, took another Tilda stamp and cut the hands off , oh crap, I can't remember which Tild she was, to make her look like she was peeking from under the covers. I printed the saying from my computer.....so what do you think? Think he'll like it...lol....I don't know about you, but the longer you're married, the harder it gets to find new ways of, well, keeping things hot...under the covers......lol...
just a closer view...
here's a card I made using the Violin Tilda that I received from Diana at the store for making a purchase. Thank you so much Diana.... I really loved this stamp. I also used the Houses on street stamp from Magnolia. I made this card into a matchbook card.
and this is the inside...I used a stamp from The paper company studio for the inside and the one on the front....
closer view of the matchbook....
Here's my last card to share using Farmer Tilda that I received from a very dear friend Sharon. Thanks girl...she's just darling....I also used the stuffed chair from Magnolia and the rest of the stamps are from Starving Artists. On the curtains I actually made the bar longer by cutting it off and adding a longer piece of cardstock and glued the curtains back on. I wanted to use this stamp, Doodlefactory neighborhood to make it look like you were looking through the window from inside and could see the neighbors houses across the street. I left the saying/greeting blank. I don't know what I'm going to use this card for yet.....
So for my news, and it's EXCITING news, I have been asked by the lovely Betty to be on her design team over at the Burtonesque Dolls Blog. How cool is that. Thank you so much Betty. I can't wait til we can get started...she is looking for some other DT members also. So pop on over to Burtonesque Dolls Blog and check it out. If you're interrested, apply for it...it's really easy peasy....
Well that's all I have for now. I'm going to work on a few challenges this week, so I'll be back later in the week to share....have a wonderful week...hugs from a wet Charm City...

A Magnolia Challenge CArd

Happy Thursday evening everyone. Just a quick post for today. I made this card for the Magnolia Challenge Blog. It was a sketch this week. It turned out simple, but I really love the simplicity of it. I used distress inks to color her in (I'm really loving those reinkers...lol).....Enjoy.... Have a wonderful weekend. We are off to PARTY this weekend. We go to the beach for the St. Patty's Day celebration and get to see all of our friends down there and hang out with them. I sure do hope they will be doing the parade..it's suppose to rain all weekend so I'm not to sure they will still have it....well enjoy your weekend everyone....hugs from a soon to be very wet Charm City.....

Happy Wednesday everyone. I wanted to share this magnolia card that I made using stamps that I received from the sweet Suzanne from Scrap Bitz. And if by chance you don't know her or have never visited her blog, let me tell you, you are in for a real treat. This is a must stop place and hang out. So much wealth of information, tutorials and videos that she graciously shares with everyone. Not to mention the inspiration in unbelievable. So go gander over and see for yourself....thank you --you are the sweetest......these stamps are just FABO!!!!! And if you're interrester in purchasing these stamps you can pop over to the Magnolia-licious store and order them. There were 3 stamps total that I received from Suzanne and they are the Jungle Tilda, Jungle Car and Waterfall Background. This card is actually a thank you card. I love to do beachy scenes and although it's a jungle theme with Tilda and the car, on the inside I changed it up abit. I thought this would be such a great way to use these stamps other than what they were intended for. My thinking was to use the jungle stamps as you travel the jungle to get to your destination which is at the beach somewhere with the inside Tilda being the Hula girl....But the possibilities are endless. So what do you think? Do you think the front goes along with the inside? Thanks so much for stopping by and I would love your input.....have a great Wednesday...Hugs from Charm City..... all the coloring was done with distress inks...and I used alot of the new colors that Tim Holtz came out with a couple weeks back. I just love all of the new colors too...they are way too fun...and the Martha Stewart border and corner punch, well that leaves alot to be desired...lol...I still haven't gotten the hang of that yet... and here's the inside...the flowers colors were changed using distress inks to....thanks for taking a peek today!!!!

Just flying by Kraftin Kimmie Challenge #20

It's SUNNY here and it's lovely. I can't believe we have gotten past winter, finally. Yesterday, well even this past weekend, was just beautiful. I hope you all have the pleasure of having such wonderful weather that we have. On a lighter note, the following project/birthday card I made for the challenge over at Kraftin Kimmie's blog. The challenge was to use some of that unloved stash and show it some love. Well we all know I just love doing this. So this challenge was right up my alley. Everything I used on here was old with the exception of the stamp Emelia and plane and bling.... That's right, with Kimmie stamps you get that little extra stamp that goes along with the bigger one. I love it...so pop on over to the store and check out the stamps. She even posts cards to give you ideas from her DT with each store photo of the stamp.... She is getting ready to release some new ones pretty soon. I tell ya, I can't wait...I just love these stamps.... And if you get a chance, stop by and play along with the challenge this week. You know you all have some of that unloved stash that you can use for the challenge...after all, we all are hoarders..I know I am really bad at that....lol.... Just flying by to say...it's party time---easel card/drawer gift box This is the front of the easel card it measures 5 1/4" X 5 1/4"....paper is from Seven Gypsies and road sign from Karen Foster...I added Glossy Accents to the plane and the goggles... this is the card standing open and the little drawers opened...there are a total of 4 drawers to you can use to add little trinkets inside....
side view....I also used some chain from Magic Scraps and little coins that I have had forever...not to mention those little brad prong thingies...that's how I attached the chain....it was a pain, but I wanted that little extra something instead of a button of brad to open the drawers....I used some little wooden buttons and candle top holders and painted them then added them as feet to bring the box up off the table.....
the little it's party time is one of those little flip tabs from Karen Foster that I just trimmed off the flip tab...made this into a pull out little gift card holder....
I have had these little bottles forever to. Not to mention the little hinge brad thingies from Karen Foster...can you tell I just love Karen Foster products...lol...the bottle slips in/out of the little cage that I made using the hinges....I took a scrap piece of paper, wrote a message and rolled it up and stuck it inside...you can actually add money to the inside also....
Well that's all I have for today....thanks for stopping by and come back tomorrow, I've got a great Magnolia card to share.......hugs from Charm City....

It's Monday and Sunny

Thank you for stopping in this morning. It's very sunny here in Charm City so I'm hoping for a beautiful day. I can actually see green grass outside now and that is such a great site. I'm hoping that it means SPRING is on it's way. First up is a blog award I received from a very talented lady that I just love her work. She does some very amazing things over on her blog. Thank you so much Margie ( Bella Bug Creations) and if you get a chance stop by and check out her blog and don't forget to say Hi and leave some love. I have to pass this one to 6 people. I always hate this part, as I have to admit, I just love everyone's blog that I visit. I get so much inspiration from so many that it's just hard. So I will leave this to you who visit me. I would love for you to take this award, link back to me and share it with whom you find inspiration from in blogland. Or maybe there's that special someone that is just outstanding.
Next up is a card for a challenge over at Kraftin Kimmies blog. I just love-- love-- love the new collection of stamps that recently came out of pirates. If you have not seen these yummies, pop on over to the store and see for yourself. They are just like all of the others, a must have to have in your stamp stash...lol...I did....
The challenge was to use buttons and bows. I know, bows on a pirate card. Not to mention, the paper is from DCWV and is their linen collection...not much piracy going on here....lol....but I have to say, I really do like how this card turned out. And I'm so glad that I was able to finaly make a card for their challenge this week. I really enjoy their challenges and have missed them . To make the frame I used those little silver spacers for jewelry making and threaded some twine around them and added red glitz to the top. I can't remember who makes those star buttons either...sorry...the pirate stamp is called Billy Blyth and the greeting stamp is also from Kraftin Kimmie and the background word stamp is from the Memory box (christmas block)
here's another image from the collection called Polly the Bar Wench. Isn't she just full of ATTITUDE!!!!! I LOVE THE ATTITUDE.....lol...I think the attitude faces makes it, the must have for me, for stamps. Not to mention they all come with a little side stamp to go along with the bigger one (not shown in this card or one above). So it's like you get 2 for the price of one. And while you're in the store, make sure you click on the stamp photo and Kimmie shows you cards that the DT has made for more inspiration on using the stamp. How cool is that? The gretting is also from the same sheet of rubber as the one above. But to me that face says something way different...get my drift.....lol....flower buttons are from Doddlebug, paper DCWV and Recollections from bling swirly....oh I forgot, this is actually a clear card...I got that from Michaels paper section called Clear Craft Plastic from Grafix...I am loving this stuff...25 sheets for 10 bucks I think...very nice weight to it also....I also colored in the images using distress ink refills....
Well that's all I have for today....I'm working on a bigger project and should take most of the week....Thank you for stopping in this morning and I do hope you all have a wonderful week ahead...hugs from a Sunny Charm City.....

Another Tri-Fold Card and a few others

Happy Monday. How was your week last week? Ours was abit hectic. You know some times life likes to throw you a curve ball. Well I think last week was one for us. But we managed to make it through (alive even)..lol...But anywhoo, here are some cards I made last week and just wanted to share with everyone...Enjoy!!!! And I would love to say a HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DEBBIE (from Nebraska--as our little one calls her...lol...she's one of my lurkers...lol..) Happy Birthday girl. I hope you have a wonderful day filled with alot of memories to cherish!!!! Love ya girl!!!!! This one is a wedding card. I have absolutely no where for this to go, but I just felt the urge to make it. You ever get like that? I have always loved these 2 Magnolia stamps and thought they would make for a great wedding card. And I so love using feathers. I think they go hand in hand with the bling that I am very addicted to right now. What do you think? Not to mention, it's another tri-fold card. These are so fun to play with. Thanks Pam for enabling me girl. You were right, I would be addicted to making more of these cards. If you missed my last one just scroll down and you will see a link for the instructions on how to make these adorable cards. I'd love to see yours if you take the plunge as I have. I kept it simple again. The paper is from Making Memories Wedding line, the greeting stamps and butterfly are from See D's, buttons from Tim Holtz line, the hanging acrylic hearts from Heidi Grace, bling from Recollections, bench and silver ribbon from unknown source.
don't know why the color on her face is different from his. It really doesn't look like this in real life...lol...
just thought I'd do a close-up of the hanging hearts. On the frosted ones I added 2 hearts back to back with the fishing line in between..
this was just a simple card I made using the Christmas Magnolia stamp where she's holding the candle in one hand. I think this one is so diversified that you can really use her in so many different cards. I just like to cut the candle off and have her holding different things.
here's the inside. I have been wanting to use this stamp forever. It's all one stamp but I broke it up and used part on the front and the rest on the inside of the card. It's from Inkadinkado. It's the one with the quotes from kids. I added the little girls name and age onto the back of the card to give her the proper credit. Just a simple one, but I really do like the outcome.
here's one I made for the spring challenge but realized it needed to be spring. I used the right colors, it just wasn't a spring card. The quote is from Tim Holtz.
And here is a Sugar Nellie card. And I have to say that I just love this card. I don't know what about it that really makes me love it, but I do. The coloring isn't the best (as most of my cards aren't yet) but I just like the whole card itself. The striped pattern paper reminds me of my Grandmother's duvet cover she had on her bed in the summer. And this stamp is just so cute. Although the little froggie got lost in the coloring abit. I have to say I really love how her face turned out. Aged and rustic, kind of like her dress. It's another simple card and I hope that the recipient will enjoy it to...
Well that's all I have for today. I hope everyone has a lovely week ahead. We are suppose to get a mixture of rain and snow today. More rain that anything I think. And to those of you that just received the snow, you know, the MAJOR inches, I feel for you. Try to stay warm......Hugs from a thawing out Charm City...

All that Scraps Challenge--

Just another quick post. We got another 17" yesterday and we are snowed in once again. They are syaing we have more snow coming next Monday but don't know the predictions yet. Is this ever going to stop? Oh how I wish it would. On a better note, here's my first tri-fold shutter card I amde for the challenge over at All that Scraps. The challenge was to make a shutter card. I had seen the one Pam (Expressions with heart) had made and I just adored it. She invited me to play along, and since I have been snowed in, I decided to make one this morning. So what do you think? Sorry for the photo.I couldn't get a very good photo of it this morning.....Enjoy!!!!
.......Hugs from a very snowed in Charm City.......

It's Coming Again

Happy Tuesday morning...Just a quick post to share a couple cards that I made some time ago and just haven't added them yet. This past weekend we ended up with 24" of snow, well we are in the path of another storm that is expected to dump another 12-18" on us. Can you believe that. My heart sank when I heard that on the news. We just thought it would be alittle dusting but hell no, it's another nor-easter storm. And it's coming right at us today into tomorrow again. We still haven't finished digging out from the last one, not to mention, they haven't even plowed our developement. And the next question is, where are they going to put all of the new snow? There's no where left!!! Hum, maybe that's why they haven't plowed in here..ya think? Anywho, here's the cards that I have to share...Enjoy!!!! this one I used Spellbinders for the flowers, frame and the embossed background and just used ink to go over top of it. Something different for me. Haven't decided if I like the color... and here's another Kraftin Kimmie stamp...I colored her in with Prisma pencils. Just a simple and quick card... I had someone ask me about the recipe to make the box that I posted below with my Magnolia set. I don't normally take measurements when I'm just winging it. But I do remember that I started with a sheet of 12X12 cardstock and cut it to 10X10 and scored 1" on all sides and folded into the bottom part of the box. Then I just took another 12X12 sheet and folded it over the sides to make the top part of the box. But this wasn't big enough to go all the way around to bottom part of the box, so I had to cut another piece to cover the gap. I'm so sorry that I'm horrible at measurements as I make something from scratch. I will try and do better in the future. Thanks so much for all of your wonderful comments and stopping by my blog. You all really make my day. Hugs from a very snowy (and getting more snow) Charm City..

A Maggie Set and other's

Happy snowy Sunday peeps. And let me tell you, it's a snowy one here in Charm City. I understand that we ended up with 24" of snow from Friday and Saturdays' snow fall. Ouch!!! That was huge. And I think it's the biggest in history if I'm not mistaken. You should see it. It took all day yesterday to shovel the drive and walks in front of the house (and we still didn't get the main walk finished). And at the end of the drive it's like a brick wall of snow. Haven't even made it that far yet. We were hoping the plow trucks would come through before we would have to get out there and shovel it. Ok Debbie and Betty, thank you so much for your wonderful pretty stuff, but you REALLY could have kept it this time....lol...as much as I love snow (and I really do) this was just abit to much. Even for someone like myself. I don't have photos yet, but I plan on taking some later today. So onto something more fun..... I opted out of making anything for challenges this week and decided that I just wanted to play some to see what I could come up with. The cards/set posted below is what I made. Enjoy!!!!
here's a birthday set....made the box from scratch.....it really didn't turn out like I had envisioned either. here's the birthday card using the Tilda with the candle stamp...I cut the candle off and added the balloons...I also used distress refillable inks to color her in and did a light layer of vintage photo over the top with a sponge tool to give her the aged look...
this is the top of the box...so much going on.... more than I wanted...
box with the drawer open....
other side...I used a set of stamps from Autumn Leaves...and dyed the flower using distress ink Broken China...the flower is from the craft store that actually was pink in color...
here's is what I made to pull the drawer open. It's a handmade flowerette...I used the 6 petal flower from Paper reflections added my paper front and back side to match and cut and glued into a flower. The instructions for this is on Tim Holtz's blog under his 12 tags of Christmas from this year. I opted out of adding the center part and added some ribbon instead. The center is abit tricky but is manageable. ...lol...I made one on the card below with the Sugar Nellie card. It took alittl while to figure it out but this old gal did it...lol....
here's one I made using, yep, you guessed it, one of the few Maggie stamps I have...lol...different day, different color and setting....lol....I really am in love with scene cards, so I thought I'd dig out my StampScapes stamps and play some with her. I used all distress ink refills again except on the bench. I used Prisma pencils for that...
Deets for these stamps:
tree trunk, pebbles and tall grass---Stampscapes
trailer--Inkadinkado
pine trees--A stamp in the hand
bench--unknown
quote--Tim Holtz
and of course my Maggie stamp....
everything was stamped onto watercolor paper....
last but not least--here's a card with a Sugar Nellie stamp. I used the Tim Holtz flower tutorial (as posted above) and used the Marvy flower punch to make the rose, See d's for greeting, Sizzix for the leaves and parchement dies...and Nesabilities for the frame.... She really didn't turn out and I'm not sure that I really care for this card. I think the color red on the stamp is what is throwing me off. I just couldn't get a color to match the paper like I had wanted to...she's a little to red...lol...and I think the leaves are abit to big for that stamp too....oh well,--- she'll go in the box and sit....
Well that's it for today...I think we are going to try and clean up our broken canopy on the patio outback. With the weight of the snow it totally collasped it. BROKEN...I couldn't believe my eyes when I seen that...my heart sank...what does one do in a case like this but clean up and move on. That just gives us a justified reason to buy a new one this year... :O) ....well have a great day, hope you're all safe and warm....hugs from Charm City....
